  1. If you log into your account at the Flight Sim Store and navigate to your downloads, you can re-download the DX10 Fixer and obtain version 1.4. Be sure to read Steve's Nov 5 2013 blog on updating before you leap in. Follow his instructions and it should go without a hitch. I believe 1.4 has been up since the 13th. My thanks to Steve for a great product. Jim S.
  2. If you purchased Global 1.0 and updated with their patch for 1.10, then you don't need this download. The only reason for downloading it is to obtain the installers for Prepar3D. The servers are very busy right now and you'll be wasting a lot of time and bandwidth if you don't need the new installers. I learned the hard way. Jim S.
  3. Jan - That is sad news indeed. I've been using your MAAM-SIM aircraft since they first came out and have truely enjoyed them. I guess when yourself tells you it is time to move ... well it must be time to move on. Thankyou for many hours of enjoyment behind the controls of my B25 and DC-3. In my FS-9 days, they were as good as it gets (and I still enjoy Briefing Time in FSX from time to time.) I wish you well in whatever you choose to move on to and regret your departure. Best regards, Jim S.
  4. I've been using their stuff since PNW came out. Also tried the Tasmania demo which drove me to buy PNW.PNW with most of the payware airports other than the most recent and all their freeware offeringsNRM with their freeware airportsCRM which is my home turfLancair which hasn't been out of the hanger for a long time.
  5. Thx for the suggestion but it's one I tried a while back. Since then, I just keep it at 4.5 - it seems to reduce some of the workload on my old system. unfortunately it doesn't help the OOM problem.Regards, Jim S.
  6. Hi Stephen,Yes, I've tried others. In fact, I just tried the new Twin Oaks update tonite in a Caranado C172 and managed one circuit before getting scenery spikes and then OOM. Sometimes just flying into the region will do it. For example, flying the Caranado C337 from Redmond, OR over the mountains to the Willamete Valley did the job. It's very puzzleing. I can fly all the way from Alberta to Boise with no problems other than a few stutters. I really need to solve this. The ORBX scenery is just too good to give up on it. Nothing else measures up to it in my opinion.Regards, Jim
  7. I have also had OOM problems specific to PNW. They don't seem to occur in NRM or CRM. I've attempted a number of different "cures" but nothing seems to work. My first solution was to comment out almost all tweaks in my config file - no joy there, just more problems. I then tried re-installing PNW and my "Bermuda Triangle" airports (Skagit, Anacortes, and Orcas) thinking I might have a corrupted file but that made no difference at all. I then tried re-apportioning my VAS with the system SET command, giving my self the max allowed for a 32bit sytem and then decrementing gradually back to system default. That didn't help at all. Based on this thread, I tried adjsuting the AutoSave in the FSUIPC.ini file (I have the registered version) but I still get my OOM screen. What puzzles me is I used to be able to fly PNW - not well perhaps on my older system but I could at least finish a flight. Now, I can't taxi my A2A Cub to the runway at Skagit before the system dies.Any thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe it's just time to retire this old machine and get a new 64bit platform.ThxJim S.
  8. Thanks for the heads up and thanks to Bert for his work. It works great!!
  9. ******* - First of all thanks for the new effort. Your stuff has made a large difference in the FSX community. I have what is now a low-end system that was set up for FS-9 and has limped into FSX.Intel Q6600 quad @ 2.40 GhzW7 32 bit with 3 Gb usable DDR2 memory @ 800MhzGeForce 8800GT 512 MbI fly mostly FTX NA PNW and only by using some of your earlier tweak suggestions. Otherwise I would be unable to fly FTX scenery. I tried your program first at the normal setting and found it gave me much smoother performance without too much loss in FSX features although my system still has FSX performance issues that no amount of tweaking can overcome. I tried it again in the aggressive mode using the cfg file from the 1st effort and it pretty much took away most of my autogen, texture resolution, mesh resolution, and left me with some very uninteresting scenery. Perhaps aggresive was a little too aggresive for my old system! I will go back to the first cfg file you created for me and keep experimenting as you make changes in your software. You added a cfg line new to me - I haven't seen it in the FSX forum which I watch pretty carefully - MAX_ASYNC_BATCHING_JOBS. What does it do?Thanks again for all that you've done for us.Jim S.
  10. You have a customer ready and waiting. Neat job - just what I'd expect from MAAM-SIM.Jim S.
  11. Great job Rich. I tried it out today and it looks just as I remembered the place. Maybe if I got low enough I could see myself on the beach just outside of Napali. Thank you!
  12. Just tried it out and it looks great! Thanks for taking care of the problems so quickly.Jim S.
  13. Congrats to the entire AVSIM team for a diffficult job completed!!!
