  1. Just purchased had no idea it was about to be released. One of the few vendors I will buy from without waiting on a review. Downloading now, it's a pretty good sized download so can't comment on performance etc. I'm sure others will comment over time just wanted to put out a head up for fans of FT Scenery.
  2. Yes I am interested in this as well. However I am happy with my current weather engine and not interested in that part of the application. Can the weather engine be shut off and the application used simply for dynamic head movement and camera views? I have EzDoc in P3d and it works but would certainly give it up for a newer more intuitive application that is being supported.
  3. It's odd that some seem to struggle with performance issues with the Ifly B737, it's a complex aircraft for sure but in my experience it gets no worse fps than other payware aircraft I have that are known to be a little lighter in system depth. The only payware aircraft that I had that took a very noticeable hits in fps was the LHS Maddog MD80. Looking forward to PMDG coming to P3D the last plane of theirs I bought was the JS41 (I had the Ifly in FSX and transitioned to P3D by the release of the B777) I know they've come a long way since then. @FeRo have you looked at the CoolSky DC-9? It's not a modern airliner in terms of it's avionics suite but it's a fantastic aircraft that installs into P3d without issue, it also has the F1 money back guarantee and has a lower price point too,
  4. BD, you do come off rather strong I didn't see Ralf having an Axe to grind at all. Glad your passionate about your program but you might want to back it down a bit? As stated previously I am glad you've given us the opportunity to test prior to purchase, I'm doing that. You took it the wrong way I wasn't questioning your dedication to support the program. I meant that I have faith that in the future LM will optimize the core program to the point of FA not being much value added.
  5. This would be nice to know but I doubt they will disclose this sort of information? It is certainly able to adjust the FPS slider on the fly, I can see this changing in my sim while running the demo. It would be nice to know what it's doing "under the hood" while the sim is running. With P3d still an evolving product longevity may come into question too?
  6. No I wouldn't if it was running fine at first and then you made a change and this began to occur it's the first place I would look! I use VA Financials on a client machine via FS Wide for the Virtual Airline I fly for. While it's a nice program I find it extremely temperamental selecting filter options can cause the program to lock, slow to use and frequent crashes. In more than one instance it has crashed, (is no longer running verified by opening my windows task manager to confirm) yet it will not restart when trying to click on it's .exe because it thinks it's still running. Not saying this is your issue but if I were you I would uninstall completely and clean my registry entries using a program like Cc Cleaner or if you have a restore point saved prior to that install I'd roll back and try again https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download Hope you get it sorted there's no reason P3d should crash like that.
  7. I do as well, but it's the concept of being able to dynamically change some of the parameters of the sim while it's running in order to reduce the load and attempt to maintain a set fps that is interesting. Similar in theory to the traffic optimizer that has been discussed here recently. If your not taxing your system any to begin with then it really doesn't need to change a thing. If you slam dunk it like I did on my first test run there's only so much it can do to try and improve the situation, I think it does have some promise getting you a few fps where you may not have had them before under taxing situations. Might be worthwhile yet I'm staying a bit optimistic until I can test further. I think it was a mistake for the developers to come out and say, "give it your worst"! a bit too optimistic I believe!
  8. You would be correct but there are ALOT of other things that differ from FSX that are not glaringly obvious at first. Your best bet is to treat it as an entirely different platform with some familiar features. Not sure if you tweaked your .CFG File but if you haven't don't most of the old school FSX hacks will cause more problems than they'll fix in P3d. It's your sim, you'll have to judge what's important to you. I for one think the UHD texture resolutions are not necessary, 2048 looks good to me, save 4096 for screenshot contests but that's just me some people love the HD look. It shouldn't take long to test and see if you we're simply overtaxing your system or if there is something else going on.
  9. I'm afraid there are so many variables at play here that it'll be next to impossible to glean anything beneficial/informative from other users tests. Even if they establish some sort of repeatable benchmark, precisely recorded /documented it and then share their results with us...it's only going to be indicative of their system. Regardless if the general consensus is positive or negative; "YMMV" has probably never been more accurate. I am going to use my remaining test sessions carefully to try and evaluate if it's worth the cost/effort for me, my system, and the way I like to fly. I'd like to add that I think it's great that the developers have given us the ability to test before purchasing.
  10. That "Chime" your hearing is FSUIPC warning you that your about to run out of virtual memory which of course will lead to an OOM error and subsequent closure of the P3D App. perhaps your not getting that OOM message and just crashing straight to the desktop? I'd reduce the load on your sim and see if it cures your issue,
  11. I hit it with one of the most difficult situation I could think of... FS Dreamteam Vancouver CYVR RWY 26 at Dusk ASN: CYVR 011734Z 08060KT 2SM +RA OVC030 OVC070 OVC120 24/16 Q0995 RMK EDITED WEATHER UT2: 100% Commercial 70% GA Aerosoft Airbus A319 Set for T/O Config REX +Orbx GlobalTextures ORBX Northwest Region Active Needless to say non flyable prior to fiber accelerator at about 9-10fps Launched Fiber Accelerator and set the lower fps slider at 15fps and upper/mid at 30fps saw no immediate improvement Taxied down the runway then back taxied to starting point giving the app some time to do it's thing. I'm pretty sure it was trying it's best as I saw the P3d internal fps counter switch from locked 30 to unlimited. I picked up a few fps as well but cant say I ever saw a steady 15fps. Perhaps I was pushing it too hard but the read me said to "give it the worst" How long does the application take to do it's internal calculations and adjustments in the background? Probably need a bit more experimentation under difficult rather than impossible settings to see if it's worth it to me . My initial impression is why should I bother with another external application when I can simply lower a few sliders myself and/or find better conditions to fly in? I like the concept a lot; just not sold on it at the moment.
  12. When will you make it available on Simmarket?
  13. Might be a conflict going on? Are you using Track IR or any other movement application accufeel? Opus? if so you might try disabling them to see if it helps? Do you have any known good camera sets saved? Perhaps a default aircraft from FSX that you could try loading? I have the Default 737.esc set saved it's only 148kb file that I could send to you to try if you'd like to see if that helps? Or if you still have FSX installed you could simply do it yourself it only takes a minute. I also think I remember Manifar (Author) saying that not having any cameras can cause strange effects (your screenshot shows no cameras created for your Airbus) So even if the camera is looking right at the pilots seat are you able to create a new camera at all? Or are you saying that no matter what you create or try to edit the camera always pans back to that face down pilot seat view like your screenshot?...If the latter is the case I would bet on some sort of a camera definition conflict going on.
  14. I'm looking for some recommendations or suggestions for a nice small factor touchscreen monitor to add to my simulator set up. My intention is to add it into my pedestal and use it to control Flight One's Garmin 750GTN unit in GA aircraft and perhaps as a ECAM display or general purpose display for external apps like FSCaptain, ASN etc when simulating commercial aircraft. I think I might be able to get away with using a USB device but, have no issue running as a stand alone monitor from a second graphic's card port. Something similar to an ipad but I don't need it to have it's own processor. Any tip, hint's or suggestions welcome. I would prefer it to be under $500 and closer to $300 but could swing a bit more for an ideal solution. Thanks, Robert
  15. If REX Sim Air ever makes it to production release I think it could change the entire outlook of VA's and how they operate. I have been waiting for it over three years now. Air Hauler 2 could also potentially bridge the gap between static traditional VA's and real time massively multiplayer VA operations.
  16. Build 5410 a 55MB service pack for P3D. B) Available for download on their site.
  17. just a joke for those who have been waiting on this project that started in the hands of Digital Aviation and has since been taken over and managed by Aerosoft. I read where one customer who was looking forward to the release actually started flight school and is now a rated CRJ 1st Officer or Captain in the CRJ and the project still has not released I've purchased a number of Carenado GA aircraft in the past, I am much more selective of their offerings. Need some positive reviews and or time to mature before I'll pull the trigger anymore.
  18. Thanks Gregg, it's nice to hear what P3D users have to say. I really don't need anything new but I love shopping around just the same. Been eyeing that Lionhart Learjet for awhile now too while I wait for the Aerosoft CRJ that's due out in 2036.
  19. How About FPS? Oh yeah forgot about their unofficial forum down below...off to see what's being said.
  20. Title says it all. I'm surprised at the lack of feedback on it, Maybe it's been out for awhile and just recently released on Simmarket?
  21. The only thing I can suggest then is a clean install, PIA though if you have a lot of things already installed. If you go that route be sure you uninstall P3D just don't delete it or you'll end up having to get your license key re-activated which can take a couple of days especially over a weekend. Good Luck
  22. I have my sim set to use system time by default is there any easy way to get it to recognize the correct time of day when changing locations? This seems pretty basic but whenever I fly in Europe, or Asia I have to Google the local time there and set it manually in the sim. (Since my default system time is central standard time US) Is this how you all do it to or did I miss something along the way when moving to P3Dv2.4 Thanks,
  23. Steve can you post or add your in game (P3D Menu Settings) that you use in conjunction with the NI settings you posted in the link above? I like what I am seeing using your NI Settings and would like to try to mirror your in game settings as well.
  24. What changed on your system from last week to the start of the crashes? What does your windows event viewer say about the crash ie faulting module etc.? Maybe you could do a system restore prior to when you began having the issue? Also is all your add on software up to date, your not running an earlier version of Active Sky Next or FSUIPC are you? Just some ideas I'm sure others will chime in especially if you can give more details about the cause of the crash from your event viewer.
