  1. Antti,Sometimes I would like the runways to draw referenced to True North, the last couple of days. That is when flying in Polar regions. At normal Latitudes, the problem can be solved by using the Flight1 registry repair tool, if this does not help, Uninstall/Reinstall the product. Help is avail on the PMDG Support / Knowledge database.Regards,Harry
  2. Some people mentioned this many times before in this forum, I can only repeat. For the European region charts are avail to the public using this link:http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/publicuser/public/pu/login.doYou will have to register, free of charge, and take time to learn how to use it.But it's as real as it IS to date.Regards,Harry
  3. Jeff,The FMCWP folder is for FS9 only to store the navdata. As you indicate FSX above, look in the PMDG folder for sub-folder NavData.IIRC, NZQN has a rather short runway, not any good for an MD11.Not in database might be because in the PMDG Option menu, the show runways distances, is still set at default 6000 ft.Regards,Harry
  4. Paul G.,About this remark.The reference was to the MD11 already.Regards,Hary
  5. Paolo,Hope Paul G. gets it right.Regards,Harry
  6. To all,For what it's worth:During the Northern summer Jet A will do as fuel.During wintertime you better upload fuel of the A1 type. It's in the documentation. And, if you know an airplane that's heating the in tanks fuel, please let me know.Regards,Harry
  7. Paul G,On the MD11 you can make:PBD's, meaning Place/Bearing/Distance to create a Waypoint where you want it.ORPD's meaning Place/+ or- Distance to create a Waypoint in the current flightplan, where you want it.Hope it helps to understand.Regards,Harry
  8. Rob,Sometimes you have to correct yourself, admitting this in publc is great, even without seeing your full name.Enjoy the widescreen features, and also the different make the MD11 has to offer.Regards,Harry
  9. Rob,For your information,The real plane will automatically switch back to MAG once heading south of 72.5N.The switch to TRU when heading North is at 73.5N.What I see in the simulation is an auto switch to TRU at 72.5N going North (real is 73.5N) but more importent, no auto-switch back when going south below 72.5N.This switch-back to MAG does not happen automatically in the sim, as you observed, and I consider it a minor bug.The Manual for the simulation states correct what it offers, but the real plane offers a more logic auto-presentation of the item at hand. And regarding "pilots discretion": it's an MD11 option to select whatever reference you want, wherever you are on the globe, to have MAG or TRU reference, but the real plane switches automatically to TRU when areas of magnetic variation become unreliable for navigation. For the Southern Latitudes there are also some auto switching moments that I don't remember exactly. Feel free to ask if intersted how the real plane is programmed.Regards,Harry
  10. Would be very good if the options were selectable in a PMDG menu, for the companies that have this extra.Regards,Harry
  11. Daniel,Suppose the real plane can do it, why should it not be on board on the NGX?Regards,Harry
  12. Johan,In that case start with a CABIN ALTITUDE warning, triggered via the failure options.QRH EP 10.4 will give the checks/handling required. (Don mask, your option)When cabin altitude cannot be controlled and an emergency descent is needed, follow the procedure at this page, cause it is easier to continue here, than flipping pages with a mask on.After the descent, continue with the reference Christos suggested, EP 20.7, for the items remaining after descent.Regards,HarryEnjoy the system and procedure operation this aircraft offers.Regards,Harry
  13. MD-11:Yes, Autopilot ONPassenger oxygen supply is oke for at least 15 mins.Regards,Harry
  14. Vincent,1) Not aware of that, will have a look.2) Used to press the Autoflight button when aligned on the runway and after N1 was set around 70% (Company SOP, also these may differ on standard Flap-settings for Take-off, Flaps20 in my case, or Dial a flap for arrival, 10 for me). And Markus absolutely no negative remarks intented your way!!! Great work to introduce this airplane as you did. These tutorials are great!!Well, apart from that:The difference is that thrust is set according to your Throttle angle, if Autoflight is not pushed. When pushing Autoflight before (during taxi/ or after 70% set), it will advance throttles to the FMC selected (derated) power setting.Regards,HarryPS: may have to check the simulation for conformity to real world operation.
  15. Lorenzo,See you selected Flaps28.In that case, a speed of 229 kts is no longer an option for the Autoflight system.Regards,Harry
  16. Ryan,Needed this Registry Repair Tool before to get my installation running correctly.Seeing these pictures I hope it will correct Olivier's mis-alignments.Strange thing is that in picture 1 the course error is much greater then the magnetic deviation on earth. In picture 2 the next waypoint is more then 2000 nm away.Nearing destination all looks normal.Something else might have to be done to get this fellow on course. ( No I don't mean manual FD mode)Regards,Harry
  17. Dem,Welcome to the forum. For the FS9 update:Go to the top of page:Select -Downloads - Service Updates-The correct update for FS9 can be downloaded there.Regards,Harry
  18. Graham,Select - Precision/Bowtie - in the PMDG Options Display menu.Regards,Harry
  19. Just repeating Dan's question:FS9 or FSX.Regards,Harry
  20. That's very clear Ryan,My item being MD11,I have not been part of the Alpfa team as a real pilot that has an MD11 rating, and not been able to indicate imperfections (some call it bugs) in the Alpfa fase. Also for the Beta part of the production I had no way to indicate improvement options.(or it must be the lateral FPV presentation on the PFD which is correct on the MD11 now, compared to the 747)Once the product was released, I signed the license agreement to download and have the 'right' to use the product as it is.Since using the product (including patches) as it is, I admire PMDG for producing a real non-Boeing, but American made product, and see very detailed conformity to the real plane. So Ryan: If I make remarks on the forum after the product is released, I now understand I'm much too late. From the above I understand not to make remarks unless invited. Thanks for making this clear.Business must go on indeed, check the last forum reference on facebook is december 02.Regards,Harry
  21. Al,Not music, but played the 'Puchacz' too for some hours.Regards,Harry
  22. Dan,In FS9 R137 is indeed close enough, and is the current radial (2010 charts)In FSX a radial entry of 141 is needed for realistic ND presentation. ie way too far off according current charts. There's something strange here. If it can't be solved in the FSX version, too bad as returning to FS9 is no option for most of us.Hope the NGX will indicate correctly.Regards,Harry
  23. Hi Ryan, Nick, Dan,Invested quite some time to 'replay' the (Nick) scenario in FSX.Very sorry Ryan, to hear nothing can be done about it, you have the inside information. It's even more bitter to see that the FS9 database vs. real life current data/positions, gives a far better presentation on the ND, simulating the real aircraft indications by within 1 degree.Just figure that one.Regards,Harry
  24. No,Subtract 50, add 100 is 190/112.Here's the linkhttp://aviationweather.gov/products/nws/winds/info.phpHarry
