  1. Been flying less heavy metal lately, more GA, in and around New Zealand (of course :)
  2. Its a pretty common sight online, and during organised events (e.g. cross the pond, but there are many more, and most weeks theres a long haul event going on somewhere) you can get dozens of aircraft on the same track all doing oceanic reporting every half hour or so, can make for busy times on the radio, is good fun. I hear you though Gazza, it must be pretty lonely if your the only one crossing an ocean. But back to the original question, I'd encourage you just to get online, vatsim or ivao, and give it a go. You'll learn a lot just by doing it. And lots of the control areas have excellent online training resources for pilots, e.g.http://www.vatsim.net/pilots/ptd/http://pilotcerts.laartcc.org/page/Home
  3. The board of Virtual Air New Zealand are excited to extend an invitation to simmers based in New Zealand or anyone visiting NZ in November to join us for a flight-sim and real-world aviation event to be held at the Air Nelson base and airport on the weekend of 4th-6th of November 2011. Join us in Nelson to learn more about this great regional carrier, to get some insight into the operational side of Air Nelson, and to learn more about the Bombardier Dash8/Q300 aircraft and this fabulous airport and environment. Your turbo-prop sim-flying experience will never be the same again Early birds will be arriving friday night for a quick catchup and intros. The event proper will run all day Saturday, with planned activities including talks by Air Nelson’s Ground Instructor, the Flight Operations Manager and other Air Nelson staff subject to rostering. We hope to get a tour of the Tower and other facilities during the day, and will have a BBQ or evening social event to wind things up. To find out more about the weekend's plans please download the PDF following.... http://www.virtualai...gether-2011.pdf And if you decide to join us register your interest on the form on the following page: http://www.virtualai...what=nelson2011 We look forward to seeing you in Nelson. About us: Virtual Air New Zealand, is based on Air New Zealand Ltd, a real-world New Zealand based airline. We currently operate a full flight schedule based on the flight schedules and timetables of the real world carrier using a full fleet of aircraft, as used by the real world carrier.home page: http://www.virtualairnz.com
  4. Don't have the Wilco 777 sorry but have u tried starting in something like a default cessna and shutting it down completely then switching to the 777?
  5. Oh Yes, I'm definitely in on this one, love the classics, hopefully performance is better than the fs9 patch in FSX for the current pic model tho
  6. Have you taken a look at the Majestic Dash8 for FSX? Is a better model than the PSS and has varying levels of complexity depending on how much you want to pay. I too missed the pas when I switched to FSX but am now a happy camper running the Majestic modelBtw there are plenty of tutorials out there for fixing the prop color, do a google search, or search these forums, basically involves an alpha mask and making the prop color almost opaqueSearch for prop_fix.zip at flightsim.com by David Marshall
  7. Thanks Al, I'll have a play w the panel.cfg then and see if I can sort it out.PS - love your sig line by the way
  8. I'm running this configuration too, the ISG stuff works well, but I can't get the MFD displays up in the VC all I see is the glass plates with finger smudges on them, any tips for solving that? Am picking I'm missing a GAU file or something
  9. Yeah the JT8 sound-set from Christoffer Petersen works fine with it
  10. Mmmm ... Just can't imagine why an A32x would be on the radar for pmdg, for me I'll be very happy to see the 777 and dash8 arrive and after that if I were a betting man I'd say and hope for the 787
  11. I'd second YSSY Sydney but it's a big project, really hoping orbx pick it up some time soon, anyone know if they are planning it?
  12. Heh, yeah she's pretty gaudy all right. There's at least one repaint underway for the qwings 757, see:http://forum.qwsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3154&view=unread
  13. >I have the same problem and its not related to the engine>generators. It's terribly frustrating, as the click and drag>on the flap handle rarely ever results in the flaps doing>exactly what you wanted them to do. You should check that both engine's hydraulic pumps are on. I own the Wilco/Feelthere 737 and it wont operate flaps unless they are both on. They're pretty much centre-right in the overhead panel
