  1. Fort Worth, TX, originally from northeast Ohio. Lived in Williamsburg and Virginia Beach, VA before braving the Texas heat! Robert, where in northern Ohio did you reside?
  2. Imagines newest KLGA is very good. Agree with all the Flightbeam and FSDreamteam Airports. Anything FlyTampa is also good.
  3. +2 for Love Field Brian, you'll have my money in a second! The shots, look great, can't wait to try it ouT
  4. Downloading now but at a 1997-like 19kb/s, going to be awhile!
  5. Hi guys, Looking to see how many of you are in the North Texas area and may be interested in possibly meeting up to fly/talk simming, aviation, and any other topics that may come up? I had a pretty good group of us meet up once or twice a month at different people's homes flying and talking aviation and would like to try to get it up and running again here in the DFW area if there is interest. Feel free to respond to this thread or PM me if you are interested! Take care! Mike
  6. I've taken a couple spins around in the B1900D after finally downloading. Visuals are great and very good fps overall. Handling is very good but then I'm not sure what a real turboprop is like so take it for what it's worth. Interior sounds seem like they should be louder as I've been on some Great Lakes B1900Ds at the front of the cabin and the engine noise was very loud. I'll report back on the FMS once I get to utilize it for more than pattern work. Overall I'm pretty happy so far, a few bugs to work out but I think it's a winner for me.
  7. This is definitely exciting news. Been watching Enigma for over two years and was disappointed when this 737 project came to halt. Very happy to see QW take not only the project but much of the old Enigma team on to complete it!
  8. 34. Been flying MSFS since 1994. First flight for me was in a Jetstream 31. What a great mix we have here!
  9. Thanks guys for the insight. Whatever restoring the default water textures does works beautifully. I have zero issues now in DX10 in ORBX land during heavy weather after restoring the default DX10 water, pegged at my frame lock of 30. Still have those great whitecaps too! Thanks gentlemen!
  10. I've been an HiFi customer since the very early days and I have to say I am very impressed with the description of ASN. Looking forward to giving it a run! What a great year so far for FSX!
  11. I helped a friend remove this virus by setting up an alternate login user account and running the removal process from there. I tried a number of ways to remove it prior to the alternate user account only to find that the malware locks your rig up at startup to the point you can not even get into task manager. I cleaned the system and he has not had a problem since. I am guessing though he may have frequented a shady website.
  12. Bownsy I run a a similar setup to what you're describing, i5 3570K o'clocked to 4.5ghz with a 660ti with the add-ons you spoke about. At FlyTampa KMDW in the NGX with real weather, REX, and UT2, I can get about 22-25 FPS with overcast skies. At FB KIAD it's around the same. I'm a pretty happy camper. You can't go wrong with the i5s. Regards, Mike
  13. Happy to help out! Sounds like your on the right track for sure. You should not need the iso backup but honestly it won't hurt to retain it anyway. I have one I periodically back up to an external drive in case of disaster. If you have questions or need any help don't hesitate to PM me. Mike
  14. Dom, I did a similar setup with my new system and things went much more smoothly than I expected. I backed up my fsx.cfg file to a safe location then upon re-installing the OS went ahead and re-installed FSX onto the main OS drive. Once that was done I replaced the fsx.cfg file with the original from my previous install and used the flight 1 registry tool to point to FSX on my second dedicated drive. Once that was done I manually deleted the new FSX install. I've had zero problems other than pointing my add-ones like REX, UTX, and GEX to the right places. Hope this helps, Mike
