  1. Hi Greg, thank you for checking it again. I played and played und did not get that mentioned small DME window. Now I can calm down myself, not being as stupid as I thaught already. Hi, Lmaire, thank you for your advise. I did not check throroughly that gauge above the G600. I thought this is inop, as others are. Thank you again for your help. Bruno
  2. Hi, I am not able to figure out, how and on which of the avionics, I get the usual distance reading to a tuned DME. If tuning a VOR/DME, the tracking of the VOR works fine, but I am missing the distance reading to the DME. Are am I to stupid to find necessary settings, or did Carenado forget to implement it. Thank you Bruno
  3. I have already applied your advise (delete shaders) succesfully; thank you. Bruno
  4. Hi Chas, I would like to forward two LM statements on the shader issue, despite both are not completely clear to me. In the Learning Center - Tuning Guide, you will find: [GRAPHICS] SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1 Non-Default entry. This entry will not exist in your Prepar3D.cfg file by default and must be added to the file. Performance Tuning Tip: Using this rebuilds your shader cache by incrementing the number each time you make a change to the Prepar3D.cfg. I need to be honest, I have not detected so far, which files are being rebuilt by that entry. FAQ's by Beau Hollis in the Forum: I just bought a new video card, but my performance is still the same, what gives? Your shaders (think rendering code your graphics card uses) is compiled upon first load, or the first time you do something in Prepar3D v2. That's why you can see hiccups the first time you do something, but they then go away. Because the shaders are compiled now. If you change your graphics card, you still have your old shaders for your old graphics card. Go delete your Shaders folder in "%programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" and then start Prepar3D back up and let your shaders get recompiled for your new card. That should certainly help. Checking the path: "%programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2", I do not find any folder that is named "shaders" or similar. The question is, which folder (files) to delete ? I do not know. Regards Bruno
  5. Hi, this is the entry, you are looking for. [GRAPHICS] SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1 According to LM, it works as in the past. Bruno
  6. Hi, after a couple of days of tweaking and tuning, I got v2 running very well and a don't think about of going back to anything else. Bruno
  7. Hi, I added [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=244 ... (244=hyperthreading on, 14 = hyperthreading off) to my Prepar3D.cfg and this resolved the Problem. Bruno
  8. I do not know, how mountain mesh changed from FS Global 2010 to FS Global UT, but with UT, there is a very clearly visible improvement over the default mesh. I am speaking of Alps in central Europe. Bruno
  9. Hi Riccardo, if P3D is installed on another disk than FSX, I would add FS Global UT scenery manually, inside P3D with pulldown menu SCENERY LIBRARY. Nothing else is to do. I did so and it worked. Bruno
  10. Hi, it's like a miracle. I have 8GB RAM installed and got at 54% usage, regularily, OOM errors. Now I can fly ORBX scenery (Seattle, Vancouver) with most sliders far right and up to 62% RAM usage without any problem. No more blurry textures, even at high RAM usage. Thank you for publishing this tweak. Bruno
  11. Hi, you need a software that is able to create a .cab-file. I used ZIPGENIUS 6, its freeware and you will find it by searching the internet. Then take all the files, you have extracted before and create a new .cab-file of it. If additional help is needed, let me know Bruno
  12. Hi NaMcO, thank you for the advice. Taking off WWW made it indeed working. Bruno
  13. Congratulations Holger. I do not remember, for how many years I am enjoying your work already. Bruno
  14. Hi Ben Cap,thank you for your help. I know the registry repair tool, but I did not think outside the box, to "use" it for that purpose. This saves me a lot of work.Thank you again.Bruno
  15. How to divert FSX aircraft installers to P3DHi,Member FSMP (Geoff Ambrose) has made earlier statement below. There may be some issues in INSTALLING FSX planes in P3D, if the plane's Installer is specifically locked to installing into the FSX directories ( typically determined by looking for, and reading FSX REGISTRY entries) -- but that can normally be quite easily overcome. Can somebody let me know, how to overcome FSX aircraft installers, that are looking for FSX REGISTRY entries and divert the aircraft installer to P3D instead.Thank youBruno
  16. I have received the solution from a Lockheed Martin developer.I have been advised to delete the P3D shortcut on desktop and to create a new one, if this helps ? YESSS, it does !!! I can now delete default AC's without invoking the "automatic restore" function.Bruno
  17. Default aircraft's must not be deleted or removed ???HiQuestion: Has anybody ever deleted one of the default aircrafts, i.e. deleted the aircraft directory with its content ?I experienced a behavior of P3D that looks to me, as if P3D does not allow to delete any of the default aircrafts. As an example; I Deleted the default Piper_J3Cub completely, with its directory. After starting P3D again, a window opens, reading in its title "P3D" and "Please wait while Windows configures P3D", and "Gathering required information" . After approx. 10 minutes, P3D starts normally. After looking into the Airplanes directory; Piper_J3Cub is back again. I need to say that no automatic backup or restore software is installed. Can anybody confirm this behaviour ?Thank youBruno
  18. I got the Aerosoft Beaver working in P3D !!!Here is, what you need to do, to get missing Beaver gauges (3) working.1) Go to Beaver panel directory and take Beaver.CAB to any empty working directory and extract the cabinet file.2) Open gyro.xml with any text editor3) Remove second line, which reads <!DOCTYPE Gauge SYSTEM "../gauges.dtd">4) Save gyro.xml5) Do the same with files hsi.xml and vertical.xml6) Create a new Beaver.CAB file and put it back into the panel directory. That's all.If you are afraid of making mistakes; send me a PM and I will mail you my Beaver.CAB fileBruno
  19. P3D+PNW screenshotHi,what I personally like on P3D is the crisp and detailed scenery, even in the distance. The screenshot was taken at 2560X1600 and LOD_RADIUS=6.5 Believe me, the scenery looks much more impressive at a resolution of 2560x1600Bruno
  20. Aerosoft DH-2 Beaver - not working Gauges in P3DHi,I copied Aerosoft Beaver over to P3D and detected that three gauges (HSI, Gyro and Vertical Speed Indicator) do not show up. Out of eight .xml gauges (BEAVER.CAB), are five working and three are not. Unfortunately, I am clueless on gauge programming and therefor, I am helpless.Bruno
