Safe Mode always appears: The workaround
volmmer replied to JimBrown's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I can confirm the OPs issue. Starting the sim from a start menu shortcut gives me the Safe Mode prompt every time. Starting the sim from Steam does not. -
Simair is vaporware. Stopped looking about.... 2 years ago Sad story. Latitude worked for me until I found VA Financials. Furthermore it doesn't look like a lot of people are using Latitude anymore. The map looks increasingly deserted when you fly. VA Financials will cost you a bit of money each month, buth the interface is more user friendly than Latitude, and as your own company's CEO and pilot it has a good sim management feel to it. Even the real time map shows all your fellow simmers flying, and this map is crowded. Good overall immersion feeling. VA Financials is also still being improved (unlike Latitude). The new economy mode on FS Captain sounds tempting, might try this one. Hope this helps.

I'm getting a maximum of 18-22 fps on my rig with 2 X 980GTX in SLI and an OC'ed I7 3930 @ 4.2 Addons consist of the essential ORBX software and My Traffic. No addon airports. A bit dissappointing FPS, but it is a very consistent (and smooth) framerate. I can turn everything up to max until I get OOM'ed out into space. The only main thing impacting the FPS is MyTraffic which is a real ressource hog. (probably because this is still handled by the CPU, which is now the bottleneck (?)) Very much looking forward to an updated Nvidia profile for SLI

Seems to be a problem with the range of MD planes from Coolsky, as I also experience the stutters with the Super80 Pro. Reinstalling, both P3D2 and the plane have not helped. Dailing down the visuals inside p3D likewise. Unfortunate, as the MD80 is a really cool plane to fly. Perhaps the devs will adress this problem in the future.

Hi SpoonerFLIGHT, don't know if this helps with the DC9 from Coolsky. I had the same issue with their Super80 professional. After searching various forums on the subject I found the following was useful to me: -Go into the control panel: Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Problem Reporting Settings -Check "Never check for solutions" (not recommended)" It was the only way I got the Super 80 to work again after upgrading to Win 8.1 Small trade-off for such a brilliant airplane Hope this helps BR Bob

I'm getting exactly the same error when I just exit the simulator instead of ending the flight with the Airbus X Extended, also from Aerosoft- I'm keeping P3D V2 fairly basic. FTX Global + Vector. I only fly the Airbus X Extended from Aerosoft which has some serious growing pains with P3D. Personally I think it's the Bus that is messing with the simulator.... It's a required update to download the revised asc.dll file here The more I use P3D V2. the more I come the conclusion that it's to be used without a lot of addons, untill the various developers have adjusted / revised their products. P3D V2 is great on it's own, but as soon as you start piling on the add-ons the problems emerge. Within a year or so it's going to be awesome.

I've just installed the Coolsky MD80 SP2 in P3D V2. Flying is smooth, with the exception of small stutters every 10 -15 seconds. Not a game killer, but still, on approach... Not very much info on the net, about this particular plane + p3d v2, so I turn to the ultimate oracle. Rotating the external spot view seems to make the stuttering worse. It's almost as if the plane can't keep up (?) Anybody experiencing the same thing? Thanks in advance.

Excactly the reason why I switched to P3D.

ANyone using Nvidia 314 drivers with P3D?
volmmer replied to Clutch Cargo's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Hi Clutch, Installed 314.07 yesterday, and flew 1,5 hrs today. No problems, but no improvement either :-) Good luck with solving your problem BR Bob -
Absolutely essential piece of software. Good job Maarten BR Bob

Niiiice... Another one is the pannable tower view that I picked up on another forum. I love this one for plane spotting, or just horsing around the tarmac 1. Go to FSX / P3D keyboard assignments menu dialog. Look for the command " View Track/Pan Toggle". Assign it a keystroke 2. In order to move the view you can make the tower view movable by editing the Cameras.cfg (the one in the folder with the P3D.cfg - not the one in the P3D root directory) EDIT: "NEAREST tower - camera definition 7" XyzAdjust = TRUE ADD: XyzRate = 2.5 PitchPanRate=10 HeadingPanRate=45 PanAcceleratorTime=0 Try experimenting with the different settings to get your own perfect pan. When in P3D hit the key assigned to activate the pannable tower view. Move mouse to pan the tower cam. Mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Enjoy BR Bob

FSX/P3D SCENERIES: compatibility questions and issues
volmmer replied to David Roch's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Two months ago I uninstalled FSX after a trying P3D for a few weeks. Haven't looked back since. P3D is a much stabler simulation platform, and with developers converting / supporting their products on this platform, I believe P3D is the future of flight simming. Conversion and / or installing FSX addons is no problem at all with the right program. Just beware of some addons that still won't work with P3D (yet) (Aerosoft AES, FS Supertrafficboard etc.) There is an excellent list somewhere on these boards showing what addons are supported, and if you are allowed to due to EULA constraints (But I'd say skip that bit..... ) BR Bob -
Very nice vids. :good:

I've been a supporter of FSPilots products since FS Global 2005, and every release got better. (and larger and more expensive ^_^ ) True to life terrain, better immersion. I'm hooked on this one.

The Estonia Migrator tool works a charm, even without FSX installed. Thx.
