Works fine for me with no tweaks including Splash/ configuration screen. Have you installed the A/C from scratch?

Hmmm, I didn't use the migration tool.

Are you using the latest version? Also have you tried it without?

I have never been able to get it to work, with or without the migration tool. It just locks up. Then again, I have always had issues with it, even in FSX. Which is why it sits ideal unfortunately.  Got sick of messing with it.

Edit: I stand corrected. Of course... I am eating my words now. I installed as admin just now. And it loaded up.  It looked as if it was frozen when I first started it up. Let it go, and bam it works.

I have also been interested in this plane for P3D2. I read in the P3D2 compatibility forum thread in this forum that the Coolsky DC9 is fully compatible using the Estonia Migration Tool. It looks like an impressive aircraft and I would like to give it a try, but am reluctant to do so with what I am reading in this thread.

I highly recommend the plane. I have it and it works fully in p3d 2.2 as far as I can tell. I have not come across any issues at all. I bought it after reading the almost entirely positive comments about the plane in p3d. It's actually the only payware plane I Own. I don't use any tool to install it. I just install into p3d and then check the fsx folders for any changes and then manually apply them in p3d. Takes only a few minutes as far as I remember as there are not many.

The plane is very good on fps and it's one of the main reasons why I bought it. The virtual cockpit is superb.

As I said, I highly recommend it. One thing to note is that I don't think the developer supports it for p3d so if you run into any issues you are on your own. That being said, I think very few people are having issues, if any, I have read almost entirely positive reviews for this airplane in p3d.

I bought the McPhat HD cockpit textures. And WOW. The plane is extremely accurate. Even the circuit breakers work.  You definitely need a powerful PC to run it full tilt. I personally haven't noticed any FPS issues out of the norm.

Hi SpoonerFLIGHT, don't know if this helps with the DC9 from Coolsky.

I had the same issue with their Super80 professional.

After searching various forums on the subject I found the following was useful to me:

-Go into the control panel:   Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Problem Reporting Settings

-Check "Never check for solutions" (not recommended)"

It was the only way I got the Super 80 to work again after upgrading to Win 8.1

Small trade-off for such a brilliant airplane

Hope this helps

Good thread.

Like Bob above, I had found out that I needed to turn off Windows 8.1 error checking to get past the black screen. Now I see the a/c (in P3Dv2.2) , however my big issue is the stutters with it- unique to this a/c.  The substantial stutters correspond to many short (less than .5 second) bursts of the mouse spinning circle, which indicates to me that the PC is doing something else madly in the background.

Anyone seen this?  Any suggestions much appreciated.  I installed it using the EMT.  I also have it installed in FSX (maybe that's some of the issue....)

Thanks, Bruce.

Is it only that one plane that stutters?

Hi Dan,

Yes it is the only plane that stutters-  every second it seems, a very rythemic sequence of "spinning circles" in Windows 8 (indicated usually another process running), and stutters (mini-pauses) in fps, and cutouts in sounds- all synchronized with this once-per-second rhythm...  weird...

Today I tried uninstalling it in P3Dv2.2 and re-installing it in FSX.  Seems to run fine in FSX other than major pauses every 30 seconds or so-  which could be just FSX....  then I copied over the aircraft folder to P3D-  very smooth and no pauses,  but also no gauges or menu...  so unflyable.

PS. where are you in Australia? I lived in Victoria for 13 years before moving to the US...

you can't just move the aircraft folder, you have to also move the EFFECTS and GAUGES that belong to the DC9
