  1. Hi Steff, This happened to me too. In my case it was because I had an earlier version of P3D 3.3. Maddog only works on the latest version so I updated to the latest version of 3.3 Richard
  2. I'm with A.J... 1. Turn of the century: Flight Unlimited 2/Fly was my first feeling of immersion that started to close in on reality. 2. Now: FSX with ORBX/PMDG and REX (+42" screen) another huge step closer to my real world flying. Richard
  3. Hi Mohit, Route R592 on my (out of date) Jeppesen chart: So STAR out of YPPH then PAYNE/MRW/ISNIB/DIVNA/ONSLO/CEDAR/DOMOM/METUM/PUPIT/GIWOT/SID into WADD Cheers Richard Shumack
  4. Me too. Recent flight YSSY - KLAX we were close to that for the first hour or two out of Sydney (Delta 777). On track for a 9 hour flight instead of 13...but slowed down :(Richard Shumack
  5. Hi Brian,Mainly fly in Oz so for me its: PMDG, ORBX (scenery + AI), Active Sky + Vatsim. That's it!Richard Shumack
  6. No worries Ryan! And yes Kevin, the yoke helps too (mine's an old CH Yoke that still does the job).Diego, maybe I'll get the expansion pack in the future. In the meantime I'll try to perfect the -800 with some circuits at YMAV @ 1500' (as per some QF training material I got my hands on)...Richard Shumack
  7. Hi Robert and the gang,I have finally bought the 737NGX and it is brilliant. In particular I just wanted to say a big thankyou for someone FINALLY producing a plane for FSX that trims properly! It is the first flightsim plane I have flown (since around 1991!) that handles in pitch with anything like the stability, and accuracy of trimming, that I have experienced in my (admittedly limited to GA) real world flying. This makes it a joy to handfly (which I do for all approaches).Again, great job and thanks.Richard Shumack
  8. As a pilot:Cessna 152Cessna 172As a passenger:B707B737-200/300/400/800B747-200/300/400/SPB757B767-200/300B777-200/300A300A310A319A320A321A330-200/300A340-300A380DC-9MD80s variousFokker 70Fokker 100BAE146DH Dash8DH OtterPiper NavajoOnly disappointment is no 727 (so far).Favourite as a passenger is the 767.Richard Shumack
  9. First for me is the old Sud-Aviation Caravelle (especially the United and Air France liveries).Second place for me is the Tupolev 134. Sleek. And third is the 767-300. It has a pretty face.Richard S(Agreed A380 is ugly, especially the nose - that's why publicity shots are always rear 3/4)
  10. Hi Guys,Fun discussion for another with small RW hours in Cessnas and lots of FS hours in heavies. Seems this throttle/stick debate is never ending, although I remember an old Qantas 744 pilot affirming strongly that it is always speed by throttle, rate of descent by stick in heavies. (RSR's thoughts?)Also it seems to me that there is a difference between aerodynamics & physics on the one hand and pilot technique on the other. In terms of physics everything is connected. Pilot technique may separate things out for better practical results, and techniques can vary. Finally going back to the first post, my suggestion is that for good manual landings (RW & sim) the best way to improve is through visual circuit training. Lots of manual circuits at ORBX YMAV in the 744 has improved my virtual airmanship no end. And it is much more fun (for me at least) than SOP for revenue flights!Richard S
  11. Hard to put my finger on exactly how or why, but the J41 is the first FSX aircraft to feel like my real world flying. (Especially flying around FTX in Australia). If you like hand flying you'll love it!Richard Shumack
  12. CTDs:b. Happening during flight or as the sim exits - we're still trying to find the source of these, it's very hard to track stuff like this down when just a handful of users are seeing it. I've personally done 10+ flights in the last few days trying to reproduce them and I haven't seen it once. We'll keep trying until we find it though.Hi Ryan,I am one of the few seeing CTD after ending my flight and trying to shutdown FSX. It may or may not help in your searching to know I also get an engine spooling down sound on escaping my flight. Maybe/maybe not related? At least I get to enjoy my flight first! Adding my thanks for a great plane. As others have said the J41 is another step closer to the "feel" of my real world experience (although in real life I have only flown C172 & C150s).Regards,Richard Shumack
  13. For waiting J41 hopefuls...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq3u76Nh8aIHope it gets you in the mood.Richard
