  1. That's one big list Tim. I'm looking forward to REX 2.0. Can I just ask what this is: "Added spotlight specific for RealAir's Beechcraft Duke". Sorry if it sounds a bit of thick question.Quite frankly, I couldn't fly without REX on my flights, the change it gives to FSX is staggering. CheersRhydian
  2. Hi,Just curious, does anybody have any news about the International Flight Simulator Consortium that was setup awhile back? I think it sounds like a fantastic idea but I haven't heard anything since. It would be interesting to know who was involved and what the consortium was aiming to achieve. I am assuming it was something a bit like AOPA for the desktop sim community. Can anybody shed any light? CheersRhydian
  3. I really like the J41 - it was the first airfix model I ever had as a kid! It's great to see a quality company focus on something totally different in high detail. And even better to see a British aircraft catching a bit of the limelight for once. Well done PMDG, and thank you to the beta team for taking the time to post these. Cheers.Rhydian
  4. I listened to it on the way to work this morning. I thought it was great and very informative. If what he says is true about high end graphics cards causing timing issues with FSX then that really is worrying! I too am quite excited about Aerosoft producing a modern advanced "open source" flight simulator but I think it is a long way off. It's certainly interesting to put an actual voice to a very well respected individual in the forums. I agree with Mike, the interview is well worth listening too. Rhydian
  5. Fantastic screenies. I agree that the last two look almost real. Thanks for posting them.Rhydian
  6. Looks absolutley superb fellas. I love how the beta team get to test a 'bare metal' livery. Now that is detail for you! Really looking forward to its release. CheersRhydian
  7. Totally agree with you. Have both those those things myself and could never go back to 2D panels. Rhydian
  8. Oh my gosh!!! That has to be the best VC I have ever seen in FS. Rhydian
  9. The VC of the JS41 is an utterly astounding piece of work. For those who want 2D panels, FSX incorporates views that can be setup to "snap" to various parts of the VC. For example in the default Cessna, if you want to view the radio stack you can right click chose 'cockpit' and then select 'Radio Stack'. Wouldn't that be fairly similar to a 2D panel? I know it's not exactly the same thing but it would at least help bridge the gap. Some developers are incorporating these "quick views" (which is what I call them) into their software. But I think you can set them up for yourself if otherwise. Just a suggestion.Great work though PMDGRhydian
  10. Love those floats!!! Those guys have to stop at some point because my wallet is getting a real workout! I love their 172N, it's been my default aircraft in FSX for a good while. Their 182RG was my aircraft of choice for FS2004 as well. It would be great to see a Piper Tomahawk added to their catalogue. Rhydian
  11. Do you know sometimes you guys just make me want to cry out in joy. This sounds absolutely superb Robert and team... a working ice detection system :( You guys have got to be kidding me! It's my first year anniversary of my marriage next month, I think my wife might have to have a present just a little bit less expensive than I'd hoped for after seeing this fantastic piece of software....now that's romance for you! :( Well done PMDG.RhydianAnd can I start the ball rolling on the "secret plane" guessing competition I think it's a.... dash....8.
  12. I just love the bumpiness of the sheet metal skin on the fuselage. It looks real! If the exterior is done to this standard, I can't wait to see what they have achieved with the VC. Such amazing work by RealAir... but I knew that would be the case. :( Rhydian
  13. http://realairsimulations.com/duke09/scree...09_previewshotsPlease somebody pinch me!!! That looks fantastic. Rhydian
  14. Love Gary's stuff too. Just bought his Bristol scenery and thout it was fantastic work. Well worth
  15. Blimey! Now THAT is impressive! Well done PMDG. How on earth do you guys do this stuff. Rhydian
  16. For those in the UK, the computer magazine Micro Mart have an article in issue 1050 (9th - 15th of April) titled "Is the Flight Simulator Dying?" It's a very interesting read and written by Joe lavery who also contributes to PCPilot. It's worth checking out. Rhydian
  17. I think this looks superb and at 30cm resolution, blimey! Couple this with soon to be released Alphasim's new BN2 Islander in a Blue Islands livery and you've a great flight on your hands. Impressive the guys at ORBX going to 7cm, I didn't think that was going to be possible for a number of years yet...well done fellas!Rhydian
  18. :( YES exactly like that!!!!...I think that's even better. Looks absolutely brilliant. Great work.ThanksRojanTrojanQuestion: In the youtube video is that FeelThere's Cessna Caravan?
  19. Very interesting read. Thanks for posting it. I am guessing that the person writing the article for the register maybe a bit of a fan of FS himself, and he makes some very valid points about the closure of ACES and what it means for the hobby. I think what Steve Halpern of Flight One says in the article is correct. What the hobby and 3rd party developers needs now is some clear direction and particularly an answer from Microsoft on what it is going to do with the franchise (if anything). Microsoft at least owes it to these developers as sales of third party software was what made FS so special to many of us. It certainly wouldn't have been quite as successful without all of the additional software that you could buy. It's funny because just the other day I was looking at Simkits's website with their announcment as an ESP partner - I use their instruments myself. I couldn't help but think how much money Simkits would have ploughed into what they were developing, only for Microsoft to pull the plug. It all sounds very unprofessional and "un-business like" to me!We may see FSX as a great platform for the short term - I certainly do - just because there isn't a new FS on the way doesn't mean it will stop me buying from any comapny, but surely within 3 - 4 years (if there is still no answer from MS) hobbyists and developers alike will be craving some new technology to get their teeth into. A big part of this hobby is future development and it would be a crying shame if that were to stop. If (and that is avery BIG if,) another company (or maybe a group of 3rd party developers?) manages to take the lead with a new piece of software (it's a longshot I know, given the costs and complexity of a piece of software like Flight Simualtor) then maybe it will shake things up within the hobby. It could be a whole new lease of life for us, even a fresh start. If the their inside ACES source is real - you never know! - then voice recognition for ATC would have sounded great! Shame. Very thought provoking article though. CheersRojanTrojan
  20. This looks amazing. As a TrackIr user it would be nice to have support for it. Marniftarr, do you also plan to make some motion effects in spot plane view? X-plane have a "Cinema Verite" option whick looks great when viewing aircraft from the outside. Fantastic work, well done.RojanTrojan
  21. I use a iiyama Prolite E2607WS 26 inch. It's native resolution is 1900 x 1200 so it can't go any higher on this particular model. Could never go back to a smaller screen. It's just too good. I think even an Ati 4870/Nvidia GTX260 would be sufficient. Either way I would go for the bigger screen you would certainly not be dissapointed.RojanTrojan
  22. This isn't just limited to Nvidia cards I get the same flickering on runways/taxiways and I use Ati. I guess given the current situation it might never get fixed. RojanTrojan
