  1. Last question. Is OPUS compatible with P3D V2?
  2. I did not state my question (below the dotted line) properly and it should be ignored. Re-reading your response clears things up. I presume OPUS is compatible with P3D V2? I am interested in terminating the other weather program I am using and want to be clear. Thanks ------------------------------ So I take it you are saying there is no real benefit to running OPUS from a client and running it on the main P3D machine is the desired method? No FPS impact etc.?
  3. Hi Cheryl Please clear me up on this. I use another weather program running on a client machine which injects weather into P3D across the network. It requires the use of simconnect. I believe LM changed the SDK in v2 so that some programs using simconnect are having difficulty until things get sorted out. I like programs that use FSUIPC such as Plan-G and others, never any problems with network communications. I am interested in purchasing OPUS for the same purpose but I am not clear if simconnect is required for OPUS to run on the network or if I can use FSUIPC on the server and WideFS on the client to inject weather from the client to the server? I have read the installation instructions on the website but in my old age I am still a little fuzzy about running OPUS on the network. I do not need to display the weather on the client but it would be nice. Thanks for your help.
  4. I am really impressed by the list of updates/improvements. By far the most important thing to me would be the ability of the 2.0 installer to install right over 1.4 so that we do not have to go through the painful process of re-installing scenery etc. It took me several days of pretty intense effort to update to 1.4. I did not see that on the list of updates/improvements but I could have easily missed it amongst the many items in the list. Licensing and cost of 2.0 and how they will be implemented compared to previous versions will be interesting.
  5. Jess, outstanding!! A very enjoyable AND very insightful blog. Really enjoyed it.
  6. If I remember correctly the Multi Panel will come up blank when first starting XP using Sparkers plug in and you just have to turn one of the controls (knobs) for it to come to life.
  7. Use these plugins from Sparker and Denis, outstanding stuff, should solve all of your problems. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=14646&st=50#commentsStart Scroll to the top of the page and download the plugin. And this one from Denis http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=17637
  8. I am very interested in Opus for real time weather but I am not clear on one thing. I use REX on a client computer and P3D on a host computer with REX on the client sending real weather to the host. I also use STB/Plan-G/Flying School/Radar Contact etc. on the client working with P3D on the host. The Opus network setup manual seems to indicate that I must install a full copy of P3D/Scenery etc. on the client machine for it to work with P3D on the host machine running P3D/Scenery. If that is the case it would be a deal buster for me. Please enlighten me on this.
  9. I already have a simconnect.cfg/xml file on the appropriate host/client. I have been using it for a long time (2 years plus) with STB, REX, Plan-G and they all work fine on simconnect. Email coming separate.
  10. Sorry, I left out the "Users" part when I typed the post. Also I screwed up and found that I had not shared that user folder on the host so Launcher now sets options correctly. But I need to make sure I am doing this right, 1. Run P3D on host 2. Run Launcher on client (it reads airports, runways etc.) 3. Load an existing flight using Launcher on the client (i.e I used a Piper Arrow at KPHX which is an previously existing flight I created some time ago) and click "Fly Now" 4. I get an error saying "Another Lockheed Martin simulator is already running" Obviously I am not clear on the the proper procedure to use Launcher from the client.
  11. Hi Maarten Trying to setup 3.2 on a network. No FSX installed. On the Set Preferences dialog, when I enter Z:\John Fail\Appdata\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\Prepar3D.cfg for the "Prepar3D Configuration File" and click save I get a "File does not exist" error. "Z:" is the host computer. I am running STB, REX, Plan-G etc. from the client to the host with no difficulty and they are accessing that folder.
  12. Obviously you are an animal lover. My Wife and I have four cats and donate a significant amount of money to the local animal shelter. We also take large bags of cat and dog food to donate to the shelter every Christmas. I applaud your efforts.
  13. This is such an outstanding add-on!! Where can we donate a few bucks to help with development? Your support is just great and we all appreciate it very much.
  14. "One thing, would it be possible to add checkbox for ifronly setting?" What a great idea!! I second this big time.
  15. I downloaded essential plus (1029) this morning to update my Essential 1028 to Overdrive. I keep having the same problem that I have seen others have in unzipping where cabinets 13/14 appear to be corrupted but according to forum administrators the files are not corrupt. I have checked out the explanation by KayJae on the forums about clearing the cache etc. but nothing seems to help. I redownloaded and still the same problem.
  16. I also have tried several anti-virus programs and none of them give me a positive. I don't have Kapersky. I have used the launcher several times with no problems and my thanks to Maarten for his work and generosity. The link https://m/s/r83s0cww...mLauncher18.zip appears to be broken. Everytime I try to go to it I get a server not found error.
  17. Nah, I started it as Stupid!! (see post #9 above), I have full admin rights on the computers (but I probably should not as dumb as I was on this one!).
  18. I am a complete IDIOT. You solved it. I just realized I am using my set of X-Plane 9 DVD's instead of 10. They were sitting on my desk to be archived and I simply picked them up and did not even look at the DVD labels. You (and others) have my humble apology for being so dumb (I am almost 73 so getting stupid in my old age). Thanks for putting me on the right track
  19. Hi Marcus Thanks for the response. I have been at this all morning trying to figure it out. Screenshot 1 is the scenery I have selected. Screenshot 2 is the prompt from the installer to insert DVD number 3 Screenshot 3 shows that the DVD has been recognized by Windows. When I close the autoplay window and click continue the installer simply returns to screenshot 2.
  20. Thanks for all the input, I tried all of the above. Disc 3 was quite clean with no scratches etc. but I went ahead and cleaned it anyway. Same problem, windows 7 sees the Disc but the X-Plane installer just keeps asking for the DVD. Even with the installer on the screen I can go to the DVD see all files etc. I thought maybe I had downloaded the demo installer by accident so I downloaded the installer again, it shows me a file date of 3/16/2012 at 9:22 PM and a file size of 4,375 KB. I presume I have the correct installer? I definitely am not installing from the X-Plane DVD #1, I have placed the installer in my X-Plane folder and running it from there. X-Plane 10 itself installed fine. I tried installing some scenery for Europe only, the installer initially asked for DVD number 4, same problem as DVD 3. It's pretty unlikely I have two bad DVD's. I tried installing X-Plane 10 on one of my other computers, it installed fine using the downloaded installer, but again when I was asked for DVD 3, the installer just kept asking for the DVD. This makes me suspect I have a bad installer but I keep downloading it from X-Plane.org so I presume I have the correct one. I can't figure out what is causing the problem
  21. I just installed a new motherboard, cpu etc. and am reinstalling X-Plane 10. I downloaded the latest installer and the installation went fine except when installing scenery. I selected scenery for the West Coast of North America to be installed, the installer initially asked for DVD number 3 to be placed in the DVD drive. I put it in, Windows 7 recognizes it, but the scenery installation just keeps asking for the DVD and never installs any scenery from it. I have tried it several times always with the same result. I have had absolutely no problems with the DVD or the new computer. I have installed tons of software up to this point from the DVD with no problems of any kind. Confused!
  22. Edit: Never mind: Went ahead and bought it and it installed fine in P3D. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I finally got to their website. I presume it works ok in P3D? Does it have an installer for P3D?
  23. I would like to buy it but I still am getting the "Account Suspended" message every time I go to their website.
