Lear 35A and GNS 530
Can I add my voice to this post? I, too, own the GNS530 and 430 and wonder if there is a way to replace the one that come with the aircraft with one of these...or do you feel that yours has the same functionality? Justin Friedland

sudden aileron trim in NGX update
Stop the presses. I've discovered this is a case of pilot error. I inadvertently assigned two functions to the same button on my yoke, and every time I paused my TrackIR, I was also increasing the left wing down aileron trim setting on the NGX. I thought I had cleared that button function, but I had not. Always check the most obvious stuff first. Sorry for the confusion. My apologies to PMDG.

sudden aileron trim in NGX update
A problem I've never seen until I updated my 800/900 and 600/700. Full left-wing down aileron trim, yesterday on take-off, today, after being in trim all flight, on landing when I disconnected the A/P at 100 ft. Is this something I am doing? This never was an issue until I updated with the new installer. I did uninstall everything before running the installer as an administrator. Wouldn't be a problem, save for the fact that in order to get to the trim switches, you have to basically stop flying the airplane and significantly change views. Thoughts?

PMDG and VATSIM
It's a pretty complete experience now, Captain, thanks in large measure to your creations. Since you used to be a JS41 pilot, load that beauty up at, say, KPHL and fly to KLGA. Short and sweet, and usually great ATC along the way. Add in your favorite weather program and the authenticity will be there. And we are always happy to help newbies. Justin Friedland VATGOV10

New VATSIM Website Makes it Easy
Gregg, Our pilot program has a complete module and rating for VFR pilots, which covers all aspects of general aviation. Even without the rating, all of our controllers are schooled in the care and feeding of general aviation pilots and there should be ample support for anyone who does not fly the big iron, from pure VFR, to flight following, to general aviation IFR flights. Check out the new VATSIM website
VATSIM, the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network, is pleased to announce the release of its newly designed website. Help with cold and dark on the 24B
I understand that the 24B needs its own unique c/d startup, but I am having no luck setting one up. I have loaded the fsx default air trike, then switched to the 24B. I then turn everything off: batts, fuel pumps, lights, every switch is in the off position, and the engines spool down to zero rpm (although the exh temp never quite goes to zero. I have then noticed that a number of indicator lights stay on, the FUS TANK green indicator for example. I save the new cold and dark aircraft (having changed to my home airport of KHPN) and then close FSX, and reboot the computer. When I then try to restart FSX and bring up my new c/d 24B, it loads with engines running at idle, but everything else off: all switches, etc., are right where I left them, but the engines are running. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Justin Friedland

Props will NOT unfeather
Help. I cannot get the props to unfeather as they used to. Batts are on, GPU is on, power levers in rev., I move the unfeather switch left and right, go to an outside view, and NOTHING is happening. Props stay feathered. Condition levers are in taxi. I am doing everything I have done for years (with great success) but now the props will not unfeather. I just reinstalled the JS41, to no avail. Anyone have a suggestion? I am assuming this is my error somehow, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong.

System Mechanic - Revisted
To Byork- I have, unfortunately, used System Mechanic before they put their registry rollback feature in place, so I have no reset point to go back to. I do have a question about SAPI - my speech recognition program does work, I can set up my microphone and run my computer using the built-in Microsoft system, so that is not damaged, but the voice button will not come on and stay on in FS2 Crew. My question is, doesn't the voice control program use SAPI? I did notice that FS2Crew installs Speech SDK 5.1 but a check of the Microsoft website says that System 7 (which I am using) is built with Speech SDK 5.4. Might that be creating a conflict? I'd really love to get FS2 crew working, but if I have to reinstall System 7 to do that, and if that means starting over with the installation of FSX and all the add-ons I've built up over the years, it's just not going to happen. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, J. Friedland

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
Thanks. I've tried all combinations with the same result. The preset changes, but after clicking the center button, it reverts to the default. curious.

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. On the Fuel & Payload popup I can cycle through all the options (normal, max, pattern, empty) but middle clicking once I have settled on a configuration does nothing. Same with all the options that should be available. Middle click has no effect. It always reverts back to the standard settings. Any ideas? Did I somehow disable this function when I reconfigured my panel for the rxp gauges?

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
Thanks. I had tried the suggested changes to the panel.cfg file on page 14 of this topic with no luck, but went back and redid things line by line and this time everything works...both in VC and in the pop-ups. Makes the aircraft very nice to fly. Had a trip from KTPA to MUHA using the 530's approach and arrival features, complete with a DME arc that worked like a charm. Thanks to everyone involved in the development of this addon. p.s.-sound set mentioned above is great and well worth the $5.

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
I love this plane, and hate to sound stupid, but I've tried my darnedest to install the RXP 530 and 430 (and the wx radar would be nice too) with no success. I thought I followed all the steps I found in this forum, but all I ended up with was a runway and no gauges. Would anyone be so kind as to post their panel.cfg file that includes the real 520 and 430? Thanks.

New company in commercial support forum
This might not be the right place for this, but it was the only one I could find. How would a company go about adding their support forum to the "Commercial Support Forum" section of your forums? Is there a particular person to contact? Thanks,Justin Friedland

HSI Nav Problem
A virtual beer to Bert. After trying your two mods with no success, your third question caught my eye. I did a complete uninstall of the Seneca and all my mods, then also deleted the gnsw_530.mem file. When everything was gone, I did a clean reinstall of the aircraft and tried it without the GNS. It worked perfectly. Pressing my luck, I then added the necessary .ini files for the GNS, and changed the panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg files to add the GNS, rebooted the computer and voila! All works as it should. Even did a perfect ils coupled landing. My thanks for the inspiration and for the response from both you and jeroen79. This community is great in its willingness to share.Justin

HSI Nav Problem
Don't think I've modified the autopilot. Popup HSI does the same. HDG bug sets to 255, and will not be moved. CTRL-H causes it to jump to current heading and turn on HDG mode on autopilot, but it them immediately goes back to 255. ARRRG.

HSI Nav Problem
I have a problem that is making me crazy and I offer a virtual beer to whoever can come up with the solution.I am flying a modified Carenado Seneca II for FSX. It has the GNS530, instead of the standard GPS.All works fine, except for the HSI.It works well on the ground, all functions correct. But right after take off, the HDG knob becomes non-functional. The heading needle points towards one heading (not apparently determined by anything set in the radios) and will not be moved by clicking on the selector, until after landing, when it works properly again. The course indicator, course deviation needle, and all other aspects of the gauge work fine.I have been through the code, back a forth with no luck.Any ideas? Thanks.Justin Friedland
