My tuppence worthI'd rather hope that someone like Aerosoft come up with a Flight Sim. I would expexct that to be more1) what we the simmers want2) compatible in such a way that PMDG etc stuff will work or with little re-development work.Someone like MS doesn't give a hoot.Thx Ian

Dear RyanI have seen you commenting rightly about some guys who have posted their comments in this forum and were ranting and raving. There is no need for that. You (PMDG) have done an oustanding job and it just has taken longer then expected. So thereBut there is also no need top patronise people. And that is what you are doing here RyanI probably am only an average simmer although I started already flying on the PC when it was still called Microprose. The first FS ever on Atari. It had a Cessna and a Learjet.So please don't tell me that I wouldn't know how to use a SDKI have been working for many years for a small IT company called the Big Blue and when it comes to PC's etc I know what I am talking about. I am not a pilot OK but I know my way around a PC etc.Do not belittle me by such remarks. I don't do this to you and your colleagues at PMDG plus I have always defended you in anyway.Thx Ian

FredIt is actually a medium distance flight from the west coast of Scotland to Berlin. The msg comes fairly soon after the take off maybe around 15 minutes at FL 150Thx Ian

Hi allWhere do I startJust did a flight and had the same problem befotre. I thought there is a prob with that flight that day or maybe I made a mistake when entering the data that day.Just now I had exactly the same problem.I flew EGPK to EDDT. After some time into the flight I got the msg on the FMC 'Unable to CRZ Altidude'Also I had a yellow CWS P on the left screen. The plane was unable to get up to FL350. Before I was able to fly at FL410Bearly making the FL300 which I had to do manually and lost a lot of speed with that the plane was weaving from left to right and didn't hold course with LNAVa s if we had high winds but we only had 5 knotsat altitude. Nothing to write home about.Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong in the MCP and FMCThx Ian

I'll second thatI had problems the first time around installing the EZdoc with the PMDG. I did a second time a standard installation and all worked without a problem.I then installed the 600-700 and I got a problem not being able to see any outside view. I re installed the EZdoc and camera files and all is well.Thx Ian

Hi JulianHaaaaaaYes I had that actually myself in flightIt stopped for a min of 2 sec but maybe a few more and just before it did this, it was like a lighning effect i.e. a millisecond or so a white screen. The timer came on for the 2 or something seconds and on we went. Like it hat to load scenery as maybe in the very old days . And I mean very old days. But this was with the 800 WLThe bouncing up and down is a different story and occasionally I get this. I haven't had this yet with SP1But who knows it might come backThx for your replyLets keep an eye on this and if neccessary we need to escalate to PMDGThx Ian

Why?I had such a good flight and just before EGSS at 1700 feet the FSX goes brillinat white for a half sec, then the timer comes as if it is loading and then crashes to desktopNever had that and now as I have SP1 it fails me.I have de installed NGX installed it new and then added SP1. I also bought the 600/700 series and added them yesterday.I had VATSIM open and the flight was OK no problems but at that point at 1700 feet FSX failed. Could have been such a nice flight and nice landingGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIan

GuysYou are making things to easy when giving out advice.It is not only the hardware but also the way the OS has been set up which can help tremendously. Of course there are minimum specs in hardware and in this case what I see here all are (and I mean those who are asking if there units are good enough) in my eyes below par.Today the mins are probably as followsA quad corea 5800 series ati or similiar nvidiaabsolut min 4 gig ram (6 or 8 better)Windows 64 bit (7 would be best)And a very good set up OS on your system as per Tweakhound (check on the internet)THAT IS THE BEST WAY OF INSTALLING AN OS.Cheers Ianp.s. also look at your virtual memory ( Tweakhound) Very important not to get OOM's

EGPK Gate 5 Ryanair 738

This is unbelievable I have been flying now 2 flights per day. All has been fine since I made changes to the system to NOT get OOM,s like in the first week when I had the NGX AND NOW I got an OOM 5 mins before landing in EDLV. I did a flight before to EGSS from EGPK all was fine. Stansted also has the UK2000 Extreme loaded. I then set up a flight from EGPK to EDLV and now I got an OOM. Unbelievable !!! Ian

Hi all I have a problem adding scenery to FSXI downloaded the free versions (for trial) from UK2000. They say to start FSX and go to add sceneryI have done that. Once I click on add sceenerya new window opens and asks me for the path. I browse to the folder and click on the directory i say ok and then it drills down and shows me the scenery and texture folder. I pick one of them and it says no matching files foundWhat on earth am i doing wrong. This happens for all the ones I want to add on. I also got the free Prestwick one from Scotflight.Just wont work Thx in advance for answers. Ian

Why not try and change your virtual memory settings. The 4 gig of RAM on a machine is fine. You won't use normally more then approx 1.9 - 2.1 gig.Check your virtual memeory and don't let Windows control itBest isChange it to a different drive and have a small partion approx 20 gig just for the Virtual Memory. Depending on the amount you have installed double that for your virtual memeoryGive that a try
