Couldn't figure out how to update our Oct 17 release so I started a new topic. After talking with a number of other flight simmers I know and asking why they thought we weren't getting pilots, their thoughts were that the Vietnam era Navy aircraft are out of date as well as not being supported by vLSO or TACPAC so I spent the day today updating our website to the 1987-2000 deployments of CVW9 aboard USS NIMITZ CVN-68. There were around-the-world cruises so we will be visiting some really interesting places. We are flying: F-14A Tomcats, F/A 18 Hornets, EA6-B Prowlers, E2C Hawkeyes, S-3B Vikings, SH-60 Seahawk Helicopters and C-2 Greyhounds. The USS NIMITZ is Javier's ai-carrier, fully vLSO compatible as well as fully landable and catapault launch capable for all aircraft. Squadrons are created so that you can use your payware aircraft or freeware. TACPAC is required for the Tomcats and the Hornets. I have been in quite a few virtual airlines civlilan and military in my 10 years of flight simulation and I think have learned a lot. I have created a new military (Navy) VA over at tgycgijoes.wix.com/cvw9virtual There are 4 really good USN VA's replicating Navy Carrier ops and I was in one of them for a while and really enjoyed my time with them. I only left because of real life issues 2 years ago all resolved. They are all about current operations. We are different in that we replicate the U.S. Navy in the Tonkin Gulf in 1970 flying the aircraft of that time like F4 Phantoms; A7 Corsair IIs; A6 Intruders; and more. With the tremendous job that Vietnam War project has done with scenery for us to fly in, its going to be really exciting. We fly off the USS America, CVA-66 on Yankee Station with our escorts and 2 other carriers on a line period. Check us out and come on board. Download Marcus Thompson's FDSFX panel available here and other free flightsim download sites including different real world flight attendants audio files like Southwest, Delta, Air Jamaica and American. I had a friend of mine who was a real world flight attendant on furlough (for a baby) record custom announcements for the CRJ (for my own personal use only-by agreement) but you could have any male or female friend do likewise with the scripts which are available here by Google search from Pinnacle Airlines. it comes with really good documentation on how to do this. It is a gauge for the panel which triggers announcements by p/b on the panel. It is frame-rate friendly as well. i have used the stock version for years and you can find MY DASH 8 custom panel here on AVSIM for download.

The only time the window shades would be closed is for showing of a movie, usually you will hear an announcement to have all window shades up for takeoff or landing; aisles clear might be for meal service. Also federal law prohibits standing in line in the aisles at a lavatory. I have done extensive research into flight attendant announcements with FDSFX including having had an fa do custom ones for two virtual airlines I have flown for in the past for my own personal use.

I have been reading everything I can get my hands on about writing gauges for FS9 in XML. I started very simple with the first part of the tutorial from FS2X site. I used Xchanger XML Lite to compile this, saved it to the FS9 gauges folder and tried to add it to an existing panel for a test BUT...it does not show up in the Add a Gauge. I did an "explore" in XP of the gauge folder in FS9 and the gauge is there.So, I manually edited the panel.cfg. Added the bmp to the panel folder. Go back into FS Panel Studio and when uploading the panel the program says there is no gauge and no bitmap. I have been doing this with much frustration for a while now. I tried to load the fuel gauge you sent me and it says the same thing. I can swap any gauge I want from any aircraft and panel to my heart's content and they all work in FSPS and/or FS9. What is wrong here, PLEASE???????I need to create a lot of gauges for a new aircraft panel to make it totally authentic but am at a brick wall here.

If anyone has a copy of the original FS2004 version could you please share it. It is no longer on AVSIM after the hack and nowhere else online. Only the update of the new Delta signs. Thank you in advance.

Guess what? The GoFlight TQ6 is the culprit. Attached the throttle quadrant that comes with the Saitek Yoke and it works perfectly with the Cessna 172 so I am sure that every other a/c is fine too because it didn't make any difference. I will call up GoFlight tomorrow during the day. I have talked with them before and they are fantastic customer service...support 100% what they sell. This is in NO WAY a criticism of their products which I have had for two years with virtually no problems at all and the one I did have they fixed with me on the phone. In the meantime, I am relieved that I found the problem. Again, thank you for all your help and suggestions.

NOTHING WORKS!!! I have no add-ons just a bare default installation of FS9. FSUIPC is not installed at this time. I am using Saitek Yoke and Rudder Pedals and GoFlight TQ6 Throttle Quadrant. None of the buttons are assigned to Autopilot. I have NOT tried disconnecting the hardware yet. I am going to try and disconnect the Throttle Quadrant and attach toe one that comes with the yoke to see if that makes any dif. Thanks guys for trying.

I actually was NOT using any button commands. I thought like you did that perhaps there WAS some wrong interaction. I properly un installed FS9 and I have just finished following MS's FS9 FAQ suggestion carefully and edited the XP registry of any and all entries relating to FS9, FSX and any scenery mfr's that were in there. I have to go to town to CVS but when I return I am going to reload FS9 and try and fly a default aircraft to see if that did the trick. If not I don't know what else to do. Thank you everyone for your continued help. If that DID the trick then you will know what to do. I will post the MS FS9 instruction of how to CAREFULLY edit the registry from their FAQ website for anyone who has a similar if not autopilot problem that cannot be resolved any other way. Again, thanks.

Thank you to everyone for the immediate replies. No other programs have any problems, just FS9 and FSX. It doesn't matter what pitch/trim OR altitude is entered. In fact, I fly 737's and the pitch was in the proper range. You can totally fly the aircraft in every other respect, any aircraft until either CMD on the 737 or AP in other aircraft is pushed. I tried last night to delete every keyboard and joystick entry deemed unnecessary. Tried one more time and the same result. Aircraft dives to the earth. If I turn off AP before I crash I can recover and fly. Any more ideas, I am out of them, again thanks. I need a real FS9 GURU or even one of MS's FS programmers I think to get out of this one.

I have downloaded a lot of addon freeware airports and somewhere along the line I guess that I picked up a virus because every time I try and use the autopilot on ANY aircraft the plne nose dives into the ground. It doesn't matter whether payware or freeware. I tried a complete reload of FS9 no luck. I EVEN tried complete uninstall and installation of the copy of FSX I have and IT does the same thing. Any ideas from ANYONE????? WHAT HAPPENED? I have run registry repair PC Medkit and my CA virus Scan. It removed two JAVA viruses but that did not make any difference at all. I hesitate to run FSX/FS9 Repair from Flight One because I don't have any Flight One software on here. Is it ok to still run? Need Help. I have been running FS9 since 2005 and never had this problem before. A reinstallation always fixed problems before.
