  1. Well........most of these bug reports are a couple of years old and most have been fixed but as a fan of the airplane I have also found that the airspeed indicator goes to zero at some point during nearly every flight and I can live with it, but the initial number still disappears on the squawk code if it's a zero.
  2. Bought and have been flying the Aztec and have been pleased for the most part. I seem to be having problems with the autopilot in that the pitch trim wheel won't always engage with the pitch button which also won't always turn on. Also, the coding on some of the autopilot controls seems iffy as the selector knob turns in the opposite direction occasionally. I also had to go into the aircraft config. file to up the maximum manifold pressure limits to something more realistic. I too don't have much time in the real airplane but always felt it was the easiest airplane to fly either single or multi-engine and also gave good performance for what it was. The FSX version replicates that in almost all respects. Very happy to see this one come out. rf
  3. Just installed the new Alabeo Aztec and flew it a couple of times today. Relatively bug-free (not completely....) and seems to replicate the flying ease I remember from the limited amount of time I had in the real airplane. I came up through the Cessna family, but I recall that this really seemed to be the easiest flying and most ergonomically friendly airplane I had ever flown. Decent performance and a pleasure to fly.
  4. Currently enjoying ver. 1.6 and grateful for all the hard work going into this simulation..........I would encourage all you talented repainters out there to get going on this bird as a few of the models stray pretty close to "hideous". Don't want to downgrade any of the effort here but a few liveries on Avsim that you wouldn't be embarassed to taxi in with would be a real Godsend. Thanks, rf
  5. Okay..........now driving V.6.........still get nothing from the HSI needle in the GPS position. Works well in the VOR/ILS but nothing in GPS. Also......the landing lights in this little rocket ship don't even extend out to the nose of the aircraft with my set up. I've tried adjusting them with keyboard inputs (control/shift 8 and 2) thinking they may be too high or low, but no luck. Is anyone else having this issue, or is it just ME again........?? (groan....) Bringing up steering with the tailhook input works great on landing.........thanks for all the work. rf
  6. Thanks for all the comments to date................all of the mentioned items have been checked and rechecked. As far as I can tell, this may be unique to my computer system. This is the fourth installation of the Lear 35 for me and all of them have exhibited this problem. A couple of times the HSI has worked as it should but then it goes back to its recalcitrant ways. I will continue to try to figure this out because, contrary to assurances otherwise, the HSI is NOT behaving correctly. Thanks to all, ron
  7. Now flying V1.5 of the Lear and most of the earlier issues seem to have been dealt with........very grateful for all the work. I am still having a problem with the HSI showing any deflection however. In either the VOR or GPS mode I usually don't see from the HSI whether I'm right or left of course and therefor can't use the HSI to correct accordingly. This is particularly vexing when shooting an ILS of course and I was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem. I know I could install/use the GTN 750 I have, but I just haven't gotten fond of it and would rather not. If anyone has some insight on this I would welcome it. rf
  8. Thanks for the response Jim........... rf
  9. I'm sure this has been asked/answered (probably repeatedly) but I've searched and can't find whether or not FSUIPC is necessary for the PMDG 737 to operate properly. thanks in advance....... ron forneris
  10. All you "instant buyers" are valuable Beta Testers for Carenado.........they make beautiful airplanes that don't fly worth a crap until they're repeatedly patched......sometimes not even then. Really too bad........
  11. Just bought a new computer with Win. 8.1 and I am experiencing the same problems others appear to have had with the controller dropping out after a few mins. Initially the T16000 and CH throttle quadrant work fine but then they drop out and I'm left with the "mouse as yoke" selection and I can't get back to the controllers without restarting the whole sim. Often occurs after I have been cycling through the view selections but has also occurred randomly. Very frustrating. If anyone has any workarounds that don't involve FSUIPC, I'd be really interested. ron
  12. Well, had to go to the Eaglesoft bird to locate the fuel selector in this one.......in my VC it's tucked behind the Circuit Breaker panel such that it appears to be unusable. Glad to know there is one I guess....... B)
  13. In trying to familiarize myself with VC I noticed there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a fuel management system. I know the levers on the throttle console essentially act as fuel cut-offs, but even single engine Cessnas have a fuel on/off and usually a crossfeed capability. Can it be that the real Citation doesn't........??
  14. :biggrin:High on my wish list also.........
  15. Just getting interested in the Caravan and it seems to be a real workhorse.........one thing that stands out immediately is the dismal visibility from the cockpit. For those who fly the real airplane, is this an accurate depiction in the FSX model ?? I've got a fair amount of actual time instructing and flying charters in Cessnas, but this thing really leaves you blind to the sides with those low windows. (Hope it's not as bad in real life as it appears to be in the model............)ron
