  1. I have the expansion packs and was able to apply a paint to the L100-30. But the old Steam Gauge flight deck that goes with the L100-30 is not 64 bit compatible. So now I'm using the EICAS panel which I'm not a fan of on the J model frame. I will have to reinstall my expansion packs and use the EICAS panel with the L100-30 (non J). Anyways, I figured a way to add LAT/LONGS in the GTN so maybe adding the CIVA INS is all wasted effort. Or maybe not, its always fun to challenge oneself.
  2. The default within P3D isn’t so bad. I had to give up on the L100-30 however. The interior model (VC) is not 64-bit and wasn’t giving me issues and can’t use the standard C-130 because the fuselage is so much longer in the -30. So what I’ve settled for now is the J model and making a L-100-30J with it 😀. I think if I mix the J models cockpit with L-100-30 external frame it would work out. Maybe I’ll include a how to when I upload all this. Like I said initially. With a few mods this is a fun aircraft to fly. Especially the sound set which is a must. I'm currently PANC-PABE testing the suitability is the INS following along without being in a flight plan. Since my whole idea is to use the GPS for Class I navigation.
  3. Like I said, the pay ware is phenomenal just the taxiways designations way out of date. Made it hard to taxi around if you following a particular route. Let me know if you want to do a fly out in the herk at some point. Might even be able to teach ya the old Carousel INS and utilize those maps I sent ya.
  4. Those that know me know my first introduction into being a professional crew member was a Flight Engineer on the C-130 in the Alaska Air National Guard. The Herk is hands down the most impressive airframe I have ever had the privilege to operate. Every once in awhile I get a bug to fly the old bird and the past few days hasn't been any different. I updated my Flight! GTN, installed Simuflys CIVA INS for all my Class 2 needs, installed my TSS Soundpack, installed the TIT gauge for more accurate cruise and climb performance, and painted a Lynden Livery just for good measure. I'll upload it to Avsim in a bit for those that might want it. Unfortunetly I'm not having much luck getting the models working properly for the L100-30. Its painted but the aircraft isn't operating correctly. Todays flight was from PANC to PASV. PASV forecast is marginal weather conditions mainly due to winds so figured it would be a good challenge. Turned out to not be much of a challenge as the herk is a masterful performer. All loaded up ready to go with a 18000# payload. Airborne out of Anchorage on the Anchorage 9 In the red square is the TIT gauge. 300-310 TAS in cruise is right where its at in this slow bird. Good thing I have my GPS handy otherwise I'd be shooting the NDB, atleast the plane has an RMI to aid in the procedure but still. Over a GPS? HA Scummy weather over the IAF but the cloud layer cleared up pretty quick and onto the winds! Few mile final you can see why Sparrevohn is a one way strip. Not only one way but you had better make your Go Around decision early enough, I doubt you are outperforming the mountainous terrain at the end of RW 34. Short final and you can see the crab I haven't kicked out yet. You can see a better view of the hill behind the runway. All done and in parking just in time for the snow to arrive. I hope you enjoyed viewing, it was a fun flight! If anyone would like flying tips on the herk or anything hit me up. Its a shame CS has let this plane kinda languish without the updates it needed, but it still a fun aircraft to fly.
  5. It might go by a different file name but there is an Albedo file. It’s the same file that has the engine inlet textures. I don’t have the aircraft so I can’t point you to the exact file. But It’ll just take some searching.
  6. Try REALLY lightening the metal areas on the albedo file. A lot of developers aren’t adjusting metal components colors and the result is a darker component.
  7. If you want scheduled runs of stuff look into commodities. Although finding them in villages will be almost impossible it’ll give you something to work and schedule if you can find them. But if you want to try making a schedule. Food starts in ANC with a mainline carrier makes it way to Bethel. A plane will go to each and every village around there. I roads. You can start looking up Tyne populace and figure out which would take one load vs half a load. For the most part gonna be a lot of out and backs maybe some multi leggers. Look up Grant Aviations schedule. I had a friend that use to fly their GA-8 in Bethel.
  8. All dependent how much freight is in the warehouse. If you need motive to fly look at Air Hauler 2. Perfect for what you are looking todo. I posted in their forum about putting together an Alaska Freight Network featuring all the carriers up here. No one seemed interested. But for a solo gig would work perfect I think.
  9. The FAA has updated their primary traffic pattern entry. Ideally they want you to overly midfield cross wind and spiral down into a 45 to a downwind. Straight ins can and are done but the FAA only encourages standard pattern entries. I’ve seen people do a straight in with a full pattern and just cause nothing but mayhem. Anyways, this is the updated FAA guidance on pattern entry. https://www.faa.gov/documentlibrary/media/advisory_circular/ac_90-66b.pdf
  10. Assuming the metallic was assigned correctly. I’m assuming the albedo was left with the original 2D texture map which tends to be darker. Try lightening it up a tad. I can play with it tomorrow maybe when I get home. But I’m betting they left a fairly dark silver color on the albedo and it’s not translating right.
  11. When you fix it can you send it to them to adjust? Those dark inlets look ridiculous imho. Idk how that got thru.
  12. I keep looking at these. But haven’t really got a chance to look into it more. But the engine inlets look really dark. You compared them to real photos and make any adjustments?
  13. Only a very small part of it. A developer was able to show me a couple screens of the break down. Like the yoke and a couple other parts are PBR the rest is spec layer.
  14. If you are asking if that’s the accurate location or them. Yes it is.
  15. If you are up for a read the interviews in the docket are worth it. Lots of check airman interviewed. Some I think were worried about repercussions from Atlas management if they spoke their mind. One check airman initially started with praise for Conrad then it turned to he was concerned about him then by the end of the interview he was stating he didn’t belong in the plane. But if you want to know why he got on at Atlas read Denises (head of HR). It made me want to hit my head on the table. You can also look thru the Interview papers. They asked Conrad if he had failures and his answer was ‘No’. I’d have to look into it a bit more but I don’t think he even filled the paperwork out for all his PRIA info to provide to Atlas. Hiring wise this highlights why HR needs to take a supporting role in hiring not the primary drivers. This whole industry is suffering from that right now.
  16. Did you even get around to releasing that white JAL?
  17. I posted on the Aerosoft forums. I'll repost here also cause I have no shame. Thanks Steve for all your work on stuff like this!🙂 I succesfully hijacked @steve dra's Freighter! I just wanted to show a preview of planes no one asked for but because I love the liveries I decided to make. Its just what I do. Anyways, bit of back story, Atlas has on numerous occasions over the last 3 years stated they are constantly looking at doing A330s because of the availability in feedstock in comparison to 767s. These are the three concepts I have of what it would look like if operated by them. For those not in the know. Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings is the parent company of Atlas, Polar, and Southern. They are also a large operator of Prime Air aircraft. The Prime Aircraft isn't finished yet. But I wanted to post a preview before I left for work tomorrow. All will be posted when I get back in 10 days.
  18. Makes me sick to my stomach, but. I want, I want, I want! Not the air Hong Kong but the freighter haha.
  19. I could only upgrade into that if a freighter is provided. Someones dragging their feet......
  20. Again. Adequate 🤣 I'm sending you the rest of my stuff to finish.
