  1. Not to be snarky in all seriousness. But Steve didn’t a defeatist. He cares enough about the community to engage the conversation to inform enough people maybe as a group or an organization can demand them to act like every other developer. Nothing wrong with it so long as he doesn’t stroke out on me.
  2. @Steve Dra need to stop calling it a Beta. It’s Early Access. And the standard for any Early Access software is to provide a Production Roadmap. That’s standard for any Early Access games I’ve ever partook in. That and very routine communication from the developer.
  3. No I was replying directly to you about a question you posed about the authors of said posts. I just didn’t bother with quoting you and instead tagged you.
  4. Don’t know the exact date. But I was shown an email from RSR to this individual talking about the decision to get rid of him. Apparently a bit of a rift amongst the dev team was pushing for it for awhile and said he waited to long. RSRs words not mine. And I won’t divulge the email as it has the sources name in it numerous times.
  5. @Reader Not at all. If they were just flaming CS without anything of substance to back it up maybe. But time and again there's visual proof of the way CS conducts their business. History is being explained. Nothing said can be refuted. You might not like what you hear, but facts are facts and they don't care about your feelings. Sorry not sorry. This isn't some word not allowed flaming session as I think PMDG acts a bit to big for their britches and I have a few posts in that regard as well as an operator of atleast of the aircraft they have developed. Although maybe things will get a bit better now that they got rid of Kyle. This is simply explaining things we have experienced over 15 years with CS and its not stopping, nor is it really getting any better. Screw price model. Customer service. 15 YEARS I've been waiting for an update to not only the FS9 C-130 but the FSX C-130. There is probably only a couple systems that function correctly on that aircraft. DC Power flows in the wrong direction, you can't crossfeed fuel pumps correctly if at all and there are 8 fricking tanks. Kinda a must. For crying out loud the product they gave to Lockheed is actually missing an Inverter switch. MISSING!!!! That is just the tip of what is wrong with that aircraft, not to even touch aerodynamics or engine performance. 15 years, they haven't bothered to fix ANY of it. When you give someone money in exchange for goods I expect them to give me a set of goods I can use. You have to come up with an unrealistic operation of the aircraft just to use it. In the end all I got was a 1/3 finished product. They made a visual model, thru in some systems the way they thought it worked and let it be. Oh here is more models with a half baked avionics upgrade. That will be $40 more. Oh here are more models for $40....But where are the bug fixes? Who's got time for that?!?! We are busy making the 27 variants of the airframe at $4 a variant! If you want action, you'll need to start first with the owners of organizations like this, FSElite, PC Aviator etc writing official releases condemning their actions. I know they won't want to waddle into the argument or pick sides but thats the only way to educate the masses and put pressure on them. To many short sighted simmers out there that don't want to know the big picture.
  6. You’re right. CS certainly does have a disdain for their customer base. Shame really don’t ya think?
  7. I think I made a post or two and was just ignored and never answered. No sense arguing with a wall. I just don't buy their products anymore unless its a model I want bad enough and I'll wait til its on a $10 sale. Last one I purchased at full price was recently the L-1011. Huge mistake on my part. They didn't even bother to use HD external textures. Blurry aircraft, no independent INS. Which is disgraceful because you can get the Simufly INS for FREE and they act independently and modeled accurately. There's even Triple Mixing and DME updates. All free. They should have just paid that guy a fee to integrate his Gauge in their airframes and be done with it. CS isn't a developer I encourage anyone to purchase from because they truly don't had end support. They might provide one or two upgrades but then they move on to the next aircraft and leave anything that will take some serious work behind. So no you have an aircraft that only works partly and you'll spend heaps of time in the FDE trying to get something to work right or hopefully find someone else who came up with a fix for it.
  8. Don't kid yourself. Captainsim has never truely finished a single product. I dare anyone to actually find a single product they still take bug reports and correct issues. Just ONE! And there are GLARING issues with some of these products that should never made it out of Beta.
  9. Someone mute @Steve Dra before he strokes out. If he falls over dead who is going to make my paints look good?!?! Think of me people! Sidebar. I whole heartedly agree with EVERYTHING he has said. That company is notorious for never finishing products. I'm still waiting for obvious fixes to the C-130 15 years later.
  10. Thanks Dave that’s flattering. I honestly don’t view my work up to the same level as some of these guys. My work is average to maybe just above it. There’s a reason I stick to fictional liveries 🙂
  11. Some dummy thought he knew what it was doing but just kinda winged it.
  12. Any error to metal rendering isn't really a fault of PBR but more probable the error of the painter or the paintkit provided to them. As you can see the sun is on top the aircraft and a shadow exists beneath the aircraft, under the wings, under the engine pylons etc.
  13. I could give it a look at once I get home. Or with someone that is willing to put up with trial and error and test it out for me sooner. Up to you as the artist however.
  14. I’ll second the Manfred C-47. Probably the single best freeware aircraft you can get your hands on. I’ve been combining it with Air Hauler 2 and having a blast delivering to airfields I’d never have the motivation otherwise to visit.
  15. Well apparently it can’t be downloaded or installed anymore due to the PMDG authentication system. So....
  16. Awesome shots! Glad to see you take such an interest in the Carousel INS. It’s a blast. If I could get you a set of plotting charts I would so you could do some authentic ocean crossings. I think I made a post with a couple screen shots of a pacific crossing I did a couple years ago.
  17. Nice shots! Glad you are out there exploring with the plane!
  18. No, but I an a couple others are making Paints to mimic a freighter just without a working door.
  19. Of course billions of dollars would be grounded. Given the public outcry over the situation the almighty wise people in DC would excerpt whatever pressure they needed on the FAA to make it look like they were doing something. No ones denying the MCAS system needs to be fixed but the aircraft have been grounded for nearly a year and the MCAS software fix has been available for awhile. This is purely a punishment and PR job at this point. You can take the tin foil hat off.
  20. I’ve been saying it since this crash. The MCAS might be a broken system that needs to be fixed. But it is hardly the reason the crashes occurred. Use whatever accident investigation model you want it was only one part of many that lined up to the unfortunate end. Most of these crews and that includes Ethiopian and Asiana 777 SFO incident don’t have that much hands on flying experience. They are trained to their commercial and thrown into the right seat and instructed to turn the automation on. In the case of the 777 incident the Capt had 10000 hours of flying but how much of that was actually hands on? From my personal experience I can tell you, I was my most proficient when I was hand flying a Beech 1900 with no autopilot down to CAT I. Mins day in and day out. Not when I had 250 hrs and a CPL. not when I had 800 hrs as a CFI. But after I had 4500 more hours of hand flying. Had I been taken at 250 hrs and thrown in a jet and told to let the automation do everything I wouldn’t have the tactile feel of flying I do today. How do I know this? Cause now I fly a 747 and I can tell you personally how fast it is you lose that touch. Does that make me a bad pilot now? No, we do upset recovery training to help us get the feel for it again. It take about a min or less I think before you get in the groove again. But it was still there. These guys didn’t have any of that because of the explosive growth of aviation in these regions. They need pilots an they need them now. There’s a long history of accidents in the US that follow this same trend. Colgan for example and more recently here at Atlas in the 767 IAH crash. A person that should never have been operating an aircraft slipped thru cracks because someone needed bodies in seats. But I digress. The last barrier to prevent this crash was the crew. They were the ones that should have been able to cope with a mechanical issue that still left the aircraft airworthy. They could not and the aircraft was airworthy. It was the case with both of the Max crashes. In Ethiopians case they couldn’t think to pull back the power and impacted at max thrust. Because they didn’t slow the aircraft down they couldn’t get the air load off the horizontal stabilizer. They also deviated from Boeings procedures when they reactivated the electric trim. It’s a shame really.
  21. Nice shots! Thanks for taking the girl out to fly!
  22. Just playing devils advocate here. I mean you were the one who saw the video. But could he have possibly been making a video to aid in bug reporting? Without trying to disclose anything myself but they are asking for very specific things to be reported and sometimes screenshots aren't good enough. Might be best to just let it go rather than play hero. Let Microsoft deal with it.
  23. In Alaska depends on the village size. There are some that you make multiple stops. But if push game to shove I’m sure they can change them to out and backs also. Most of these flights are tapped out in weight though if not actually flying illegally over gross by ‘accident.’
  24. As a general rule. You should never say never. Except in that instance...
