Consider this solved and I'll try to make a long story shorter . I actually created this Menu problem myself . After trying everything I could think of I remembered I had placed an entry in my simobjects.cfg file for my AI traffic program(My Traffic) as documented by its developer and supported by many on various flightsim sites . It works well in P3Dv3 . I also added an additional entry for a folder I had made containing AI aircraft I use with the freeware AI program AIFP . I did this to avoid placing all of them in the SimObjects/Airplanes folder in P3Dv3 . Apparently P3Dv3 didn't like the folder I made because every time I tried to save or load a Scenario from the P3Dv3 menu I would get a CTD . I took this entry I had made for my various AI aircraft I use out of the simobjects.cfg file and low and behold I can now Save and Load scenarios in P3Dv3 again . Word of caution : if you make additions to some of the P3Dv3 cfg files , make sure you follow the format they are written to the letter or you will get the CTD's . Bottom line : Back in business and really enjoying P3Dv3 , a leap ahead in improvements IMO . Rich

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems saving a scenario in v3 ? If I'm on the Scenario screen and changing to a different AC , scenery , time of day etc and hit the Save button I immediately get kicked to the desktop . This also happens if I hit the ; key . I'm running Win10 64bit , GTX 770 4gb(latest drivers) . What I've tried : reduced OC 4.2 to 4.0 as suggested somewhere here at AvSim . Ran sfc /scannow to check for any system errors or problems(none found) . Checked Event Viewer and there were ntdll errors at times and a few other times some Win10 errors . If I remember I experienced this in a few previous P3D versions and maybe even FSX . Currently have FSX SE and P3Dv3 installed . Also non-pay version of FSUIPC . Just wondering if anyone has tried something I haven't ? Bottom Line : Love v3 and it is a real improvement . I can live with this unable to save a scenario problem because it really doesn't take that long to load up a new one . Everything else is running smoothly . The only scenery loaded is ORBX's FTX Global , Vector . England , Open LC NA Alaska/Canada and PNW , Pacific Fjords . I've been to LM's support forum without a lot of results . Beginning to think it might be a Win 10 little glitch . Rich

Just tried to sign into ORBX around 1625 EST and site was down for some reason . Maybe someone else could give it a try and see what you get . Hopefully just scheduled work on site .

Was unsuccessful getting MAAM's 7th Edition B-25 for FSX to work in P3Dv2 without getting kicked to desktop . I was using EMT . Installation went well , AC and all texture variants showed up in AC Menu , gauges in Gauge folder etc , but after selecting any of the textures to load the AC , I immediately got kicked to desktop .

Has anyone successfully installed Briefing Time 7th Edition into P3Dv2 ? (BT_FSX_v7.exe) . It functions very well in P3D v1.4. All texture variants showing up and gauges all function without a problem . I did use the Estonia Migration Tool (EMT) for v1.4 . Here is the strange thing when using P3Dv2 . I again used the EMT to load BT_FSX_v7.exe into V2 . As far as I can tell , everything gets installed into their proper folders (gauges into Gauge folder etc) and the AC shows up in the AC Selection Menu with all the texture variants but when I click on one of the textures to load the AC , I immediately get kicked to the desktop . I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and still get the same results .

Just a correction in spelling in my original post . I meant FTX Global , Not FSGlobal .

Sorry if this has been covered here already . I have sifted through ORBX forum and here . First of all I will be looking forward to ORBX's upcoming LC packages . I just added UTX due to the fact that FSGlobal does not have road/highway data , only ground texture replacement . I also think that it is recommended that we turn off UTX lighting . Question : How much of the rest of the options in UTX's configurator should we retain and what else should we disable ? This is for those of us who will be using the ORBX's LC's when they come out . IMO , I think FSGlobal has really transformed simming (I am a total P3D user) . For those of use that occasionally fly in South East Asia and possibly use Xavier's excellent Vietnam War Project scenery , go check the area out . A total transformation of the area . No default arid and desert looking terrain where jungle/trees should be . Thanks , Rich

I guess I should have reworded the question better . From ORBX's site , they are working hard at updating the dual installers to allow direct installation into P3D . From what I've read , they are mostly done and The Flightsim Store (FSS) is working to get them into our Account section at FSS . Unfortunately our Account section there do not list them(P3d installers) as being done . I did see a list at ORBX stating which installers were completed but it was dated in October . Just wondering if there was anything current floating around somewhere . The airports I am referring to are some of the older ones ( 2011 ) . Anything that came out in 2012 already has the dual direct installer FSX/P3D . Thanks , Rich

I certainly agree with you on SEA . This area has been long neglected in FSX and other versions .

Just a little confused but that is not that unusual for me . Paavo , after reading over the excellent diagrams and explanations you gave above I think I understand what is going on in the " Virtual FSX is Present " . My question is this , and forgive me if you have already gone over this as I have read all the threads : I currently have both FSX and Prepar3D on my hard drive and both are not under "Program Files" as I run Win7 64bit was led to believe to always keep them out of "Programs" to avoid all the security problems from Win7 . FSX has worked fine for several years now and have P3D very filled up. Does your tool work with both FSX and Prepar3D out of "Program Files" ? I might also add they are both in a different partition of the hard drive (FSX in D:\ and Prepar3D in E:\ . My goal is to remove FSX from my hard drive altogether and have only Prepar3D . When I am convinced I have no other FSX addon I have or anticipate to purchase that would require a portover from FSX to Prepar3D and that doesn't have a specific Prepar3d installer for it's product I really want to pitch FSX ! Prepar3D runs very smoothly on my PC , FSX does not , but it's acceptable . Thank you , Rich

I've created a new Prepar3d Profile in NVidia Inspector and If I understand it right(I probably don't) ,I now have to link it to the FSX Profile .I created the new Profile with the latest version 1.9.6.3 . It now shows in the Pull Down Menu but I don't know how to link it for it to take effect for Prepar3D . Any help would be much appreciated ! Rich

Don't know if it was some key combination I mistakenly did or my current browser(Google Chrome) , but I have lost the entire top of the Menu Selections(File Library , forum etc) on the top of the main page of AVSIM . I have used Google Chrome for quite awhile now and have never had a problem with AVSIM . I can access everything on the main page just no menu bar across the top . Have not changed video drivers lately either . I hope I'm asking this in the right forum too .Thanks ,Rich

Where would the file be located to make these changes ? (halving default value in half 32 to 16) I have the flight.cfg and camera.cfg out on the desktop but couldn't locate a standard.eml that someone above has mentioned . I also have a CH Combat Stick which works quite well in Flight and has a trim wheel on the side of its base . I assume this tweak would still work ?Rich

I humbly stand corrected . The N3N was manufactured by the Naval Aircraft Factory . Being a loyal MAAM flightsim supporter (R4D/DC-3/C47 , FS9 Avenger and the recent Briefing Time 7th addition--excellent BTW ) I am looking forward to the "N3N" and the FSX Avenger . Retired now so hopefully I can make it next year to the WWll Weekend in Reading . I've always wanted to go . I am also comtemplating becoming a MAAM member . BTW , quote: "You seen one yellow tail-dragger bipe, you seen 'em all" does not cut it around here. If you want a new Stearman, wait for MS Flight." This was not what I was implicating . Poor LLoyd Stearman is probably rolling over in his grave . If I had to wait for MS for anything , especially "MS Flight" , it would be like predicting the winning numbers in the Mega Millions drawing .
