  1. honestly, I don't normally fly through Europe.. We could also do it from the end of a runway or on the ramp facing a certain direction as well.. that way we're not confused and taking shots of different scenery... -Damien Right off the top of my head I could suggest Lukla. (EDIT: Wrong region.. Sorry)
  2. Just want to correct something I mentioned earlier... FSG Ultimate Europe-Africa covers as far west as Iceland, not Greenland as I had mentioned earlier. Sorry for the confusion. -Damien I'm currently installing FS Global Ultimate Europe.. Do you want to compare screenshots? (Not trying to sound like an internet tough guy..) Set up a short flight with location, altitude and direction of compared scenery and I'll try to get the same shots you get.. This way people can see and compare themselves which is better.. -Damien
  3. I don't believe it's a "this software doesn't have it or not", it's a matter of the weather reporting agency or pireps is reporting turbulence.. if it's not reported, it's not going to magically show up. -Damien
  4. No. Your buddy needs to lower his settings and increase his virtual ram. -Damien
  5. And as soon as I get home tomorrow morning, it'll be purchased. Can't wait to hear about everyone else's experiences/thoughts.. -Damien
  6. It's described on the website and also listed on the boxes. Also take a look on the fsgenesis website describing their own resolutions. -Damien
  7. Loving opus.. especially the head movements. 2 little things I'd love to suggest though they may be proprietary to another head movement software. I love how you have your guys' camera gui setup but I'd love to see the ability to export/import cameras to friends or fellow members and would also like to see the ability to limit head movement to stay inside the confines of the cockpit. One thing that bugs me most is that i can sit back far enough to sink back behind my seat. I know this isn't the other software but I thought I'd throw that of there. Thank you for developing your software and also for the great customer service. -Damien
  8. Fscene is a completely different program that does a completely different thing.. fscene is a scenery/autogen replacement like gex. Fscene has nothing to do with terrain mesh. -Damien
  9. Like I mentioned earlier... As posted on their website, With all 3 packages, you've got 100% coverage of the world. It appears that the coverage from Europe covers all of greenland, east to Iran and from the northernmost Greenland shores to the southernmost islands of Africa.. So, yes, It does include Norway, Finland and Sweden. -Damien
  10. Note that areas that have nothing more than flatlands or flat desert are not going to be as highly detailed as Metropolis' or mountain ranges. 54,99 euro for Europe - Africa 49,99 Euro for The Americas 54,99 Euro Asia - Oceana Or you can bundle all of them together for 120 Euro. -Damien
  11. Here's my 2 cents.. Per their website, FSGenesis offers terrain resolutions between 10M (North America and Europe), 76M (World), and 19M (World ASTER). Per the boxes sitting beside me, FS Global Ultimate offers 2M (The Americas) and 5M (Europe/Africa and Asia-Oceana). Resolution with FS Global Ultimate is much more detailed and a much better choice in my opinion. On top of this, FSG Ultimate products includes a disk to repair airports whose altitudes are incorrect (and therefore are in pits or in towers). -Damien
  12. KMSP also has an Air National Guard wing out of there flying C-130's. MSP to Pensacola, FL in the back of a C-130 is a long cramped flight.. :( -Damien
  13. It works if you are within weight limits. -Damien
  14. You check weights by verifying that the STOL capable by hitting Shift-2 to get to the loadout manager. Drop weight and adjust loadout as needed (only able to be done on the ground with p-brake set, aircraft shut down).. When engines are back up, set up STOL or auto on the flaps, 85% nozzle deflection, water on T/O and aircraft facing into the wind. Give it full throttle and slight back pressure on the stick and you should enter into a hover. Practice makes perfect and your hover should improve over time. Razbam forums are linked below. http://www.razbamsims.com/forums/ -Damien
  15. Recently I decided to start assigning HOTAS commands through FSUIPC for the Razbam Harrier. I've got most everything working except the gun. I've got the gun selected in the HUD and the MFD in the stores display. I've got 300 rounds loaded, Master Arm is armed and the gun boxed in the MFD but the gun refuses to fire when I press the trigger. I understand that to fire weapons I'm supposed to have Cabin Alerts-Seatbelt assigned and I have been able to fire rockets from it but I've had no luck firing the gun. I've tried assigning the trigger (button 0 in FSUIPC) to the cabin alerts with no luck with the gun and I've tried the pickle assignment (button 1 in FSUIPC) as well with no luck. Anyone? -Damien
  16. Iris has posted on their Facebook wall about their sale coming very soon. -Damien
  17. Sounds like you have tool tips enabled... Do you also sometimes get a warning if your altimeter isn't correctly enabled? -Damien
  18. FSUIPC is a free/paid interface module to increase functionality to FSX. It's not required if you're running a plain jane version of FSX but there are many payware aircraft out in the FSX world that require at least the free version of fsuipc. The reason I say free/paid is that you can use it for free, but you don't have many options. With the paid version, you are given the ability to do all your controls through FSUIPC along with a lot more usability options. Personally, the paid version is worth every penny, and then some. -Damien
  19. It would work just fine with no need for separate profiles for users. You just hit the recenter button and you're good to go. -Damien
  20. Ezdok is software, not a device.. and certainly not the best option for what it is used for. Plus, ezdok should be doing an upgrade in the future and May cost money for that upgrade. Do yourself a favor, check out opusfsx instead.. much better weather and head movements.. and since opusfsx and ezdok use the flight1 wrapper, you have 30 days money back policy so you can try out both. -Damien
  21. Agreed.. shade is pretty great.. Never had a need for ENB.. -Damien
  22. Wow.. that sucks but I'm glad to hear you got the problem figured out. I'd be ready to kill the brother. -Damien
  23. Any chance that your hard drive is going bad? I had something like this happen where I ended up losing all of my pictures from my 8 years in the Navy in Japan on an external drive.. First started with data corruption of some of the pictures... grey lines.. garbled text on the picture.. eventually it had taken all the pictures with no recovery available by a computer recovery expert and it happened quick.. maybe over the course of a few days. FSX reinstalls are a pain in the rear as well.. I decided that the $40 win8 upgrade looked tempting.. unfortunately, hated the GUI and tried to roll back to Win7. That failed and I had to pretty much start over.. including all the registry links to FSX on a separate drive. Acronis was no help with the recovery and I was forced to start over completely.. Good luck! -Damien
