  1. Actually my switch panel gave up the ghost after a year. It sometimes is recognized by windows, sometimes not. I ended up just unpluging it. Looks cool though lol. Yeah a nice PFC vernier throttle quadrant would be cool, down the road when I'm off disability and working again I'll probably pick one up. For now this is all I can afford. I went through a few Cessna yokes The first two were very sticky, the third on better which I kept. Was a real pain RMA'ing those things. Don't really feel like doing that again. Thats why I'm asking about the TPM. If the play in the knobs is typical, I'll just accept it for what it is. Thanks
  2. Hey guys, I know quite a few of you use Saitek gear with FSX. I posted in the hardware forum this question, but don't think many go there (I know I hardly do) Got a new Saitek TPM unit to use with FSX. Is it normal for the knobs to be a bit wobbly on these? In particular the throttle knob on mine has a bit more side to side play/wobble than the prop and mixture, and when you go to push or pull the throttle, the knob itself moves about 1/8" or so forward or back on the shaft before the shaft itself starts to move. Just wondering if this typical for these units, or perhaps I need to exchange it. Thanks

  4. So PMDG, is it placing the mouse cursor over the actual light sensor that brings framerates up, or just it being in the upper left corner? If the former, could the light sensor position be edited to place it in the bottom right corner instead? For those of us with big monitors getting our cursors down to the bottom right would be quicker. Hope this question makes sense.
  5. Hyper thread is off on mine. We could go into bios settings, voltages, ram timings, etc. But why if everything else runs fine, no bios tweaking should be needed, right PMDG?
  6. I believe he did. Thing is his NGX is running fine, thats whats odd.
  7. Im guilty as well lol. But it sounds like the OP isnt doing that
  8. Painman, I have almost the same exact setup as you, except I have only 8gb ram and a GeForce 670 with 4gb ram, and I run my CPU at 5.0ghz. Have you tried using NickN's PC setup guide? With sliders at midway, and a stock 4.5 LOD you should definitely be able to run the 777 smoothly at stock airports. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link to NickN's FSX bible without getting banned, so just google it. It's written so clear a child could follow it. Give that a try. What I've found is slightly worse performance over my NGX with the mouse cursor off screen, and quite a bit worse compared to the NGX when the mouse cursor is on the screen, but I run all my performance sliders maxed to the right except water which is set at Low 2x, and I run an LOD of 6.5.
  9. Yep drudgery. Not sorry I bought it though. Now back to chasing thermals in Cumulus X. Woot!
  10. Overclocking a chip has nothing to do with OOM. The market is flooded with products for high end overclocking, from water blocks and radiators, to vapor phase change coolers, to motherboards with hi end components, heatsinks, and water blocks MADE for overclocking. If you know what your doing, overclocking both Intel and AMD cpu's can be very safe and effective, and is used successfully by millions of hardcore gamers world wide. In 20 years of overclocking both Intel and AMD CPU's I have NEVER fried a single cpu, video card, north bridge, south bridge, ram, etc. nadda. One could argue it decreases life of the components, but with moores law 99.9 percent of us move up to the next latest greatest mobo/cpu combo long before that's ever even an issue. My overclocked I7 runs FSX smooth as butter and stable as a rock with settings maxed. Sounds like you don't have any personal experience with the art and science of overclocking.
  11. Lol.....well you never know till you try. It was one of those just for giggles flights. Whats even funnier is I had MSE photoscenery active for CA, AZ, NM, CO, NV, OR, and WA all at the same time, and I made it to KABQ without a hiccup! So now I just took off for KSFO from KSAN, only MSE CA, and LOD of 4.5. Looks like sh*t lol
  12. I had my 1st crash today as well on short final into Flightbeam KSFO 28L. But I was running an LOD of 9.0000. I actually made it into KABQ last night with that same LOD, but of course that's a pretty light airport compared to Flightbeam's. Gonna put my LOD back to 4.5 and give SFO another go here. With my NGX I've always been able to avoid OOM and crashes running low LOD, and from fl340 there's not much detail to loose.
  13. Lol yeah I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the secret to a fully functioning one IS dx10
  14. Nope sorry I disagree. I literally see a big difference between my tweaked fsx.cfg and running a stock config. I've spent years trying em all, Bjote, Word Not Allowed, NickN, and others. Some are bogus, some are not.Right now my systems running the smoothest it has ever. Did a complete OS and FSX install just last week, and going from the stock config to my tweaked was instantly noticeable. I do this 16 hours a day 24/7 (I'm disabled) Frame rates arent the issue. When I can put my track hat on and its smooth as butter, and there are no micro stutters, Im there. I also have a box running a 965 BE btw. I lol at the peeps who claim ll tweaks are useless. Btw what screen resolution you run?
  15. Worse than the NGX for me quite a bit. Only way I can enjoy this is with photo scenery/Autogen off, and lowering my LOD back down to 4.5. Probably going to shelf the T7 till an overclocked Haswell upgrade. 16. Hand flying the pattern CYBD :Nail Biting:
  17. Wise man. I should a known better. Between no 777 link and no VC clickspots in my A2A 172 it hasn't been a good day.
  18. It happened to me on the F1 King, but never on my A2A P-51. Win 7 X64 Run DX9 FSX Gold Edition Opus Trackir NickN tweaks
  19. Yeah I mean Im in Dagget, CA and its 100 degrees, and the cabin starts fogging up immediately. This has never happened to me irl. Also switched to the RXP530 and now it follows nav, the 430 doesnt......hmmm
  20. Ok yep I'm done. Click spots not working 90% of the time, GPS not working (wont follow nav) Cabin fogs up unrealistically, power profile is off, panel lighting pretty bad. I have many hours in this real life, and was really looking forward to it. Pretty dissapointed. Am going to request a refund and revisit it down the road when hopefully the bugs get ironed out. Chris
  21. Is there suppose to be a download link on the PMDG site somewhere, or do they send you a download link? Had no problem buying it, but really would like the file
  22. Me neither, how do I actually get the fie? Order #231827
