Secret Project #1: This one is a classic!
Yup, DC4s.... But it looks externally 'close' enough for some on fs I suppose. And Its a darn sight better than current dc4 options.

Cessna 182RG
Its not a scalar function in fs sadly... brakes are all or nothing, and locking up is an unfortunate quirk unless 'anti lock' is set.The brake wackyness is one of the things I fixed when working fixing the 182rg fde's.

C172II N & shockwave lights
On a lot of aircraft, landing lights are in the model. Simplest way with a lot of payware and some excelent freeware, is look in the shockwave directory for the coordinates. They have a lot of aircraft listed and updated as people add them. Though I've done my share of guess positioning in the past!

Avionics update for Carenado Cessna 206 -
Nice work... wondered how you'd gotten around the gauge mask till I realised it was the 2d... still, awesome work, rocking a gns430, kn140, and 330 in my 206, though thats the vc as I can't stand 2d

saratoga elevator
could be a vc animation then, I did ask, but have you service pack one and two in?
-
saratoga elevator
Do you have service packs one and two installed for fsx? Is advanced animations checked?Have you patted your head whilst rubbing your tummy? Is the control surface 'functioning' when in flight, or simpky locked completely?have you made any modifications to the aircraft since install?

TAA´s electra repaint in HD
looking good, working on an Electra for a VA at the moment myself, bit of a pig creating flat white textures to start with, but for a model like that its worth it. Love the repaint :)

Hageland Aviation Services 206
Might release the 'revised' white base textures too, and the black interior I'm working on. Seems nomatter what I do though, I can't remove the blurring of the textures around the window frame inside. Will see!(Btw, this version includes 2048x2048 BUMP Maps... suddenly it becomes one heck of a lot crisper.

Hageland Aviation Services 206
Yes, it should work in 9, but wont be HD in 9 as it max loads 1024, where fsx can handle higher. And Altstiff: I hope I'm misinterpreting that last comment of yours, because the way I'm reading it, its extremely offensive.

Hageland Aviation Services 206
Well Just finished my latest project, redid the carenado base textures for the 206, then painted up quite possibly my favorite livery on this ship. Hageland Aviation Services (now part of Era Alaska) This is based on N9575G, the only 206 in the fleet (along side 19 of her bigger sisters the 207) I'm quite proud of this one, and hopefully will upload it to Avsim later if I can work out how the heck to do it :DHope you like it :)Rachael

any 185's with 60 degree flaps?
60 degrees flap would be more drag than useful... in that aircraft, it would be a waste.
-
Carenado aircraft wish list
Got to say, a 207 would be one I'd buy without second thought... I really want one :D Plus It would be good economic sense considering the popularity of a certain Alaskan TV show...*goes back to finishing Hageland 206 paintjob*

A 182TC?
Actually, as a company producing a product, they ARE asking us to buy it... if they don't make something the customer wants, they don't sell it.In this case, there doesn't seem to be A, market for this product, or B, interest. thus, oops... get my drift? The whole 'access' argument is pretty flimsy really, any airfield that has a T182 with a g1000, caravans, c90s, malibus, mooneys, cessna singles, pipers , c340s, is going to have most of the planes people requestest, as they are in far higher circulation. Especially down in south america where they're work horses.I'm a huge fan of Carenado, always will be, I buy most of thier products, but I will not blindly support them, or buy the product simply because... I support them because they produce good products that I want, I haven't stopped supporting them, I just question the logic in this move...That and glass cockpits just annoy me. *whistle* (see this is the personal opinion bit, not the above)
-
A 182TC?
I'd like to echo the above sentiments... When I heard there was a new product... i was excited, seeing it was a 182... mildly let down, but still excited to see a new one up to carenado's current standards, seeing it was glass, and not that original, other than the fact it was utterly plush and leather coated, I suddenly felt a little let down.Like the others I don't see much call for it, curiosity perhaps, but it seems like a wasted product, surely they'd be better off doing the more interesting aircraft that nobody makes? then they have the market share? My votes were with the 207 (Never done in fs, and sorely needed) or Aztec, if Carenado want to update thier older aircraft, how about the 206?they have the model to work with and build on, dynamics, a bit of work, gravel guards, tundra tyres, or straight floats... massive market potential.

Carenado 206 VC panel (Late christmas present for ya)
I hope that means you like it :)One or two of the gauges looked off a tad, did you add the entries from the readme file for placement adjustments?

Piper Archer GPS
Fsx doesn't distinguish by default, each gps is simply a gps gauge, regardless of its 'appearance' HOWEVER, you CAN force it to distinguish by changing the autopilot settings in the aircraft.cfg, and or removing the nav/gps switch from the panel.cfg in either the 2d or the vc panel.I'll have a look and see if i can't find a link to the docking system i was referring to, definitely seen one,
-
Piper Archer GPS
thanks for appologising, but I'm equally to blame... I was a little 'vague' and all encompasing with my statement. As for in general, you must have seen the docking doodars you can get for some of hte handhelds to plug them into the aircraft power and systems? One of the guys has one on his 72 here and its... erm forget the brand, but it has its mount, and a cable plugs into the unit from a tiny hole in the panel...(Anyway for the Archer its irelevant, as mine became a PA28-236 Dakota ages ago (new fde) and has an autopilot and a 430 in the stack (usually displaying data and charts / airport info as it has a bigger screen) Useful for airspace monitoring when flying in the UK's busy skies!)And if we're married, why are you having that sordid little affair with Ms Malibu!

Piper Archer GPS
I meant the Ipad was the most advanced bit of kit at my club.... not in general. And you'll see I removed the last comment because I felt it was inapropriate and not needed. As for the years in aviation pissing contest, I'm not going to join in, you know I have a massive respect for you and your experience, and infact consider myself LUCKY to read the frequent anecdotes and hints and tips you post about flying over on BP... I never once suggested the information I posted was globally relevant, Apparently I'm wrong... I rarely see the mounted combi units in aircraft I encounter, a LOT of handhelds, and to me it 'feels' more authentic than the reality... yes, the kit exists, and if you saw my 206 mod shots on bp or here, you'd see it has a 430... practicality, and Ive seen them in some... so it was a functional idea. The point in general was more that I don't like glass, I prefer steam, that unit marries practicality of navigation tech, with oldschool simplicity.

Piper Archer GPS
Patently incorect in your AREA and FIELD Glenn. Not necessarily everywhere. At my flying club, there's two gns430 units, both on separate private aircraft, no glass units at all... vast majority of units are handhelds, several with panel munted docks, most on the yoke or windshield. Most advanced kit? an ipad with a gps system in... This is GA, you work in a different country and if i recall, more comercial clients?Plus when I said pound, I think you'll find I was refering to Sterling, currency, rather than weight.

Piper Archer GPS
I have the plane and yep, slaves to vor1 with that switch, all it does is swap the feed from nav1 to gps.Im not sure about the garmin 295, but I know some handheld units can have plugs to dock them so they can be slaved in/powered by the AC.Tbh, its not a big problem, most ga aircraft with a gps unit in them will be handhelds, and in the carenado aircraft like the archyer II, and 185, I love the fact its a suction cup mount rather than a glitzy gns unit... you don't see 5000 pound GPS units in every ship... As for no autopilot, most probably won't, but not having it just means you fly the course by hand, as you would a vor, either using the vor indicator, or playing follow the magenta line. I tend to program a backup flightplan in the gps, and have it incase of IMC, or certain terrain, giving me a 'thats the right valley to take' indication. Suplimentry to my map and mk1 eyeballs.

Carenado 206 VC panel (Late christmas present for ya)
Its a total retexturing of the vc panel and glare shield based on a ship at my flying club. (has a raised black textured panel rather than the flat plain one that shipped with the carenado... I did it as a project for myself, but figured I'd share it :)Its either normal 1024 or 2048 high res, making things sharper, adding shaddow and highlights, and a more realistic finish. The panel.cfg post is to add the carenado gns430 if you wish, the instructions in the readme just ajust the default gauges slightly to keep things lined up properly (some tiny movements were required.) :)

Piper Dakota Paintwork... Thoughts and comments?
pity there isnt a model that lets me keep the nose pant, and ditch the main ones... a more common real setup for rougher strips allowing the main gear to take the roughness before you drop the nose down, while reducing friction on the nose wheel... biggest drag difference between a tail dragger and a trike...Thanks for the comments, I wanted it to be a bit different, but not 'gaudy'... so its to me atleast, somewhat tasteful... yet 'unique'

The Pink Piper... A study in boredom.
Well, I started fooling with some Gothic designs, one was a bit too pastel pink, and the boyfriend told me I couldn't paint a plane like that... Red rag to a bull you know? So... C-HICK was born. I spent around three hours this morning working from the ground up, most of that is hand drawn, with some patterns used as templates in places. Its pink, its girly, and you know what? I love it :D(Rolling out of the paint shop at Manderville Airfield, New Zealand)(taxiing out on a gorgeous summer day in January? (my head still doesn't get that))(Cruising over the countryside!)(on approach back to Manderville, (NZVL) note my lovely new black panel I just finished too? Part of my mad little project.)(Should I paint the wings or not? I sorta like them white.. its like a stripy candy floss effect with the baby pink paint... hmm)(Parked up, time for a nice cold drink after a short scoot around the countryside... )For those interested, the aircraft is the Carenado Archer II model, which donated itself to my PA28-236 Dakota Project, with new flight dynamics, new sounds, textures, and a lot of love and attention. She's fast becoming my 'go to gal' for the heroic load lifting, and quick cruise speed... Plus she stops on a dime! Wonder how long those fairings would last on the usual Bush strips I fly into? Perhaps they will come off so she doesn't scuff her pretty paint! :D(oh yes, the scenery is the new orbx South Island New Zealand (its fantastic)Thanks for looking!Rachael

Carenado 206 VC panel (Late christmas present for ya)
Its not in a panel, an it's actually easier to do it by hand.. go to the vc section find the entry for radio com2nav2, delete the lettering ater the = till the numbers start (leave them) Find the gns430 in one of the other aircraft.. damn it, look, if you can hold on a few days, I'll get my laptop back with my files on, and I can post the code up to paste in, right now im stuck on a netbook thats impossible to find the darn thing with...
