  4. Hello everybody! Is there any way to select the route that AI will fly ? it files a new plan (by the way,, all of them too long for me) .... each time "AI flies your plane" is selected I tried filing a plan just before selecting 'AI flies your plane' option but it doesn't work.... it just keeps filing new flight plans PD: It would ok for me at least if I can choose destination airport.
  5. Saw that comment in devlog about ATC yesterday.I don't understand whats going on with ATC. .. I know its not easy task at all, and really I didn't excpected lot a new features by now.... but 'you are off course' bug not fixed yet... :huh: .
  6. Good news. Every update is always welcome....altough I'm surprised I see no mention to ATC at all. Perhaps its coming as part of that long fix bug list. I hope so.
  7. I understand x-plane is always a WIP, (which is good too), that LR it's a very small team,, and really if you think what they've made , right now as it is, XP is awesome. People will always miss things from the other sim. But (yes, its just my opinion), what I can't understand is that something that was suposed to work on v10 is , now , after almost three years not really usable. (ATC).

  9. It has been a long wait for the .30... complicated stuff being cooked... and.. lets be honest... they are/should be working hard on release 11 as well.... which is a good thing too.
  10. Just made a couple of tests with x-plane frame rate and VRAM usage and it seems it only get really affected when x-plane rendering options report says it is almost full. I also used tools like afterburner nvidia on a 780TI and altough it always shows a lot more VRAM usage than x-plan says, lowering texture and using even less VRAM does not improve fps at all. So, I only watch that x-plane VRAM usage info does not goes up more than 90% total card VRAM.

Some tests... again, at LEMD airport, parked in first Gate, starting from my current rendering settings (link in previous post) - Objects from "too many" to "default" - + 1 fps gain - Cars from Syberia to Los angeles (one before max) : - 5 fps drop - Trees: From Tree Hunger (max) to spare (min): + 1 fps gain - Number of roads from extreme to default: + 1 fps gain - World detail distance: from high to low: + 7 fps gain - Airport Detail: default to extreme : + 1 fps drop - Shadow Detail: from Global (High) to 3d on aircraft: +4 fps gain - Water refletion: from Complete to Low: +2 fps gain - From HDR (4x SSAA+FFAA) to HDR Off with 4x antialiasing: +16 fps gain :blink: (went from 18 to 34) - From HDR (4x SSAA+FFAA) to HDR (2xSSAA+FFAA) + 1 fps gain Yes, we all know HDR is a FPS killer, but honestly, I'm surprised to see so much fps drop using a overclocked 780 TI card. HDR is 100% GPU in theory. (Not sure if there is anything faster out there)
  12. Agreed... , altough I find hard to accept my CPU is exceeded in this situation (not only by X-Plane saying 0.808, but the most busy CPU Core near 75%, I mean ... values really below the max). But well .. GPU is not for sure.... so.. CPU should be. Will try lowering these settings , starting from there and see whats hitting so hard CPU.
  13. I will try to reinstall Windows, and test about VRAM real usage with nvidia inspetor. (Altough I don't think that x-plane saying 1.2 GB usage will exceed 3 GB of 780 TI. Anyway... I would like to see similar tests , if anynone also finds low FPS having left both GPU and CPU power....and... if someone can explain what is acting as the constraint there... as I said.. I just could imagine Bus... or.. well... x-plane multi-threaded design (limit imposed by threads coordinating work between cpu cores)... again ... I don't think this is the case.
  14. @mtaxp:. cranking up those options, gradually increases CPU usage reading within X-Plane, yes,.... goes UP till 0.945 ~.... (with everything at max), except Cars, that I have it at Kansas Residential. I understand your point trying to maximize usage of CPU right ? But do you get my point ? What I try to achive is..... STAY with my original rendering settings... and understand... WHY is that I can't get MORE fps (than 17),,, if there is ROOM left ,, (idle processors) for CPU as for GPU. Don't know if I you get what I mean. @Blaze: yes I have 6 AI aircraft, but those are Mortens AI,, very low on FPS... by the way.. I tried setting them to 0 AI.. and If I get 1 more FPS ... is too much.. anyway .. if this would be the cause... my point still remains... why ... if there is processing power left on both cpu and gpu sides... can't get more fps. "Bus" is the only thing that comes to my mind.
  15. Well, played cranking up world distance to very high, airport detail to max, antristropic to 16, cars, and objects. All combinatios resulted in the same (17) or less FPS, altought not too much, all to max got about 13 or 14fps, something expected somehow. Anyway, I could lower everything down,... till I get MORE than those 17 ugly fps.... but the the question still is, why ... if I don't have a CPU constraint neither a GPU contraint I ONLY get those fps. Quoting from Ben Dev Blog: "Here’s the key point: your framerate is determined by the processor that is not idle. If your GPU is idle and your CPU is not, you are “CPU bound”; if your CPU is idle and your GPU is not, you are GPU bound." So in this situation... my GPU is Idle by far,,, and my CPU is idle too , altough not so much as GPU..... so.... WHAT is "determining" my 17 fps limit ?
  16. Tried re-downloading real-weather but CPU usage and FPS still remails the same. I raised the shadow setting to "Melt you GPU", FPS still remans the same. I attach both screenshots of rendering options, and the jar a320 parked at gate in LEMD, there you can see x-plane CPU reading (0.8) task manager CPU per Core usage, and GPU Usage. Still, Its ok the that raising shadows to Melt your GPU does not kill my frame rate more , because of the good GPU. (we take advantage of that)Thats ok. What still cant figure out is what component is constraining FPS to 17 ~. Turning off HDR doesn't seem to improve FPS in my case,, something expected as I don't see GPU Usage with more than 40% ..... @mtaxp: what I can't understand is... what is the constraint right now , that "gives me" just 14-17fps..... CPU ? as per my checkings above NO........GPU neither (less busy than CPU, as expected).. VRAM not... Disk I/O not... so ? motherboard bus speed ? or x-plane perhaps just no 'coordinating' work to exploit full hardware capabilities ?don't think so but sill ... don't understand why.
  18. Hi Last week I bought a Zodak Gforce 780 TI AMP edition, 3GB mem , (780 ti oveclocked). I had a 580 gtx previously. I knew this should bring a good fps improvement for x-plane, at least in sceneries that CPU is not bottleneck-guilty. I measure this by reading the in-screen "CPU" usage reported by x-plane. Ben said in his devlog that we could think as CPU being a constraint with readings above 0.95 or so. Yesterday I started the sim at LEMD (Madrid-Barajas) Default aerosoft airport, Simheaven City photoscenery, OSM Europe, starting at gate or a runway several times, I was getting 14-17 fps. :huh: OK, main rendering options used: - World distance: high - Number of Objects: too many - Roads: (At max) - Shadows: Global medium - Cars: Syberian - HDR on - Textures: very hgigh (compressed) What I've checked: - CPU x-plane reading, never above than 0.80 - Checked every CPU core with Windows task manager, the busiest core in terms of CPU usage, was never getting higher than 70-75% usage. (We know x-plane uses one core for most of the rendering work) - GPU performance with Afterburner, going from 30% to 40% usage. - Size of textures loaded within x-plane (in rendering options screen): 1.2 GB (I particulary checked this, because yes, if usage is near VRAM capacity frame rate drops a lot) - Plugins: just using skymax proo . (tried disabling it for a while, and just a 3 fps gain, so Skymax is not the problem) - Not paging or disk-intensive usage. Still... 14-17 fps. (tried with jar-a320 and other aircraft too) Hardware: Sandy Bridge i5 overclocked at 4.2 Ghz, 8GB RAM + Zodac Gforce 780 TI Amp edition, 3 GB. Any Ideas ? I don't understand , except BUSes stuff what can be the constraint in these situations.
  19. Hi, one question: You will have only traffic only around departure or there will be traffic still in arrival airport ? (I'm not filing plan from A to B with x-plane ATC, as we know its almost useless now)
  20. If only "World Traffic" addon would be able to generate automatic ground routes...it would be the definitive solution to empty airports in x-plane.
  21. Nice plugin, but ... I guess the 'up and down' effect when aircraft is accelerating on ground should be replaced by a shake effect. I don't know if anybody notices this too but now that seems pretty unrealistic.
