  1. Hi all. I use AirReport lite, which is am android program that is free (well, the lite version) and that lets you see the RW METARS and TAFS for up to 5 stations decoded or raw on your mobile. Very useful. Also Ivap has got it's own acars system related to the IVAO network that lets you request a metar for your dep/arr airport.
  2. Hi. A screenshot of the mcp when you level off and the speed keeps increasing would help. You can try a couple of things. 1. Make sure you select SPD on the mcp for the autothrottle 2. Make sure you do not have "ALWAYS" set in the "autothrottle override" option in the plane's setup on the FMS and are leaving the throttle levers above idle 3. Make sure the vertical mode selected is suitable for the use of autothrottle only (eg not VNAV, might be wrong here) 4. Try fly in full manual to understand better what should be happening and what actually happens and where it goes wrong? Hope it helps
  3. Well there probably is another way but best way is to do the whole shutdown procedure and securing aircraft checklist and then save it. Alternatively if you consult the fs2crew documentation (which I'm sure you can access even if you're not a customer) it explains what the c&d state is.
  4. Hi! Have you tried setting up manually a cold and dark state and overwriting the c&d save? That might help, that way you'd know if it's the panel state causing the problem or something else

  8. Hi. Very practical answer not at all guaranteed operationally sound. Have you tried specifying the final fix to the airfield as a custom wp (eg bearing/dist to a nearby database wp) selecting the altitude as your MDA and your speed as your Vref+xx? It will prob work but as I've said it's prob not right. Operational wise
  9. Ah ha! That must be it. Since cutback is on the take off page 2, which I select before entering the to speeds to imput the rwy wind I must have tried to activate it before selecting the v speeds! Thank you so much!
  10. Hi all! I've been trying without success to use the cutback option in the FMC. When I get to the T/O ref page it allows me to select custom altitudes for other options (restore/cutback/reduction, etc.) but the option Cutback ON/OFF is unresponsive. By clicking on the corresponding LSK nothing happens. I thought it was a conflict with the altitudes I selected and tried to change them around with no success. Is it something else? maybe thrust reduction interfering? Can anybody point me in the right direction? Cheers,

  14. Yeah hopefully something's coming up in the new year, would be interesting if ORBX took up the challenge too. Rounhay is such a beautiful part of Leeds, looking at possibly moving round there. I am in the town centre ATM, full of drunks but convinient Going back to the original post, anybody aware of challenging approaches/airports in the UK for the NGX? I've flown around Scotland and the scottish isles not long ago but with the J41.

  16. It's so common! EGNM is the highest airport in England and sits at the base of a huge extent of hills that are the Yorkshire Dales, huge enough to make sure wind has got enough momentum when it reaches Leeds Bradford airport. Unfortunately it just lacks a decent scenery. Some freeware available but still a good payware is needed. More over the wind is often a crosswind so keeps it an interesting home airport!

I know you can display the FPA of choice on the HGS via its control panel and that you can select the required FPA in the DEP/ARR page of the MCP if no specific approach is selected for a rwy but I was just wondering, is there a way to select it via the MCP as an alternative to VS? Also, can somebody more knowledgeable than me explain the difference in between a slope expressed in º and as a % and how to convert it? Thankyou!
  25. Ok problem solved. After half a day of troubleshooting and ripping piece by piece the FSUIPC cofig comes out it was a corrupted script in the Joystick calibration section. Thank you anyway!
