  1. Hi Dan! Thanks for the reply. Glad to see that you're able to enter multiple wps, at least it means it can be done and I've just done something wrong/am misinterpreting something. I am inserting multiple wpys around a single VOR to define a downwind/base leg then a final app fix for an airport with no navaids (LIRJ) so they're definitelly not on the same radial even tho the points are quite close together (the closest being around 2nm). The wpys get entered alright and show up, but after initializing the vnav and nav some of them just disappear. TBH I haven't flown that route yes so I'm not sure wether they are there and just not shown because so close together etc.. Do you know if there's a way to review the fpl beforehand like the PLAN function on the NGX?
  2. That's an awesome explaination, thank you so much! Any idea about my other question?
  3. Hemm... overfly? I don't know this function, can you explain? Is it there on the NGX? Thanks for the reply!
  4. Hi all, a couple of quick questions. 1. Is it possible to insert multiple offset waypoints? I have come across a strange behaviour when inserting multiple consecutive wps. Let's take MAURO wp. After inserting MAURO in the FPL I insert MAURO* rad240.0 dis 28.4 then MAURO* rad246.0 dis 28.1 and after initializing the NAV and VNAV pages some of the offsets disappear. ANybody got any advice? 2. What is the FLY OVER option in the ofset page when you specify the rad and dist of such a wp? Thanks you in advance!
  5. Hi Al! Absolutely awesome checklist! will be using it right away. Have you got any data on landing distances by any chance? You mentioned in your opening post you solved the flashing polygons problem, please oh please tell me hoew you did that! I've only noticed so far that after I load my default cessna at seattle if I switch plane from the VC then they tend to appear less often than when I cange AC from the 2d cockpit. Other than that it seems to happen when I reduce fsx to icon but very loosely so. Take care, Mat
  6. Hi Word Not Allowed! I know how frustrating and annoying is when you expect something and it doesn't seem to work, I get the same! I just wonder tho, why would you turn the retractable landing lights on before extending them?
  7. Well it's dashed lines because it's the missed approach but for the rest it behaves on the fmc exactly like any other wp, you can't activate it like you say if you haven't reached it yet
  8. Hi all, yup it does seem you were looking at the hold for the missed approach, just press next hold and program it!
  9. Tristan, can you tell me about your flap deployment schedule in these apps?
  10. Hi all, just a quick question. Does the program currently (or will in future) offer a wind aloft report and trip averages?
  11. Hi Kevin, just on top of my mind (I'm at work), the detector system fault test is a separate test to the fire one so the fire warnings you are getting during the fire warning test should not include the fire detector. (mind me, I might be talking bollocks). Refer to the normal procedures I'd say, it's all there!
  12. Hey Jafiler, a screenshot would help! have you waited for the whole 20 secs it takes for the a/c to initialize? f yes, have you moved the IRS switches on the overhead to NAV? Have you entrered a valid position? If your issue is not related to the procedure maybe a re-install will solve the problem. My advice if it doesn't is to file in a support ticket with PMDG. They answer very quick! PS. Sign every post with full name!
  13. Yup! No 2d throttle, only visible in VC. Fly VC, I used to hate it and only used 2d view, then I switched to it with the NGX and i realized how much more realism i was missing! Now i can't fly 2d anymore lol

    Very Cool

Hi all! Is it me or the left gear green indicator light is inop (11.05 onwards)? Suppose they're aware of it cos I couldn't hear any of the pilots mentioning it
  15. Hey thank you all for your responses. I've used GSX a while now and yeah, boarding/deboarding is perhaps the least interesting function. Follow me for big unknown airports and the pushback are great tho. And yes, those boarding sound are a torture!!
  16. Agree on the whole line, PMDG doesn't have a multitude of loyal customers, they keep us here by addiction lol once you enter the tunnel... you never leave!
  17. Hi all! Also consider, P3D IS a training platform aimed at the defence/professional market. Those who switched to it for simflying are doing so through the esbabotage of saying they're developers or simply lying (this is not a moral judgement, simply stating a fact). Now, supporting (or even releasing) products for P3D even if it is de facto used as an entertainment plattform, creates the huge problem of having to guarantee the suitability of that product for the market P3D is intended for. In my point of view untill there's a change from the P3D guys deciding to openly offer the program to the entertainment market thus creating a different version (or at least a different Licence) that allows a differentiation between commercial and entertainment in front of the law, PMDG is hand bound by the very contraints of the market it stems from. The contraints of the licences would simply overwhelm the original purpose of its products to their disadvantage.
  18. Hi all! I'm in the process of customizing my GSX and am looking at a rough but accurate estimate of realistic boarding and deboarding times for the NGXs. Obviously as the seating capability changes I'll then work it down to a second per passenger sort of format so that I can use it as a blueprint for all planes of the series. Any ideas? Anywhere anyone can think I can have a look besides my own experience in airports? Cheers everyone!
  19. Hi everybody! I fly for Mediterranea Virtual, an Italian VA. After poking around the company's forum I was unable to find anybody interested in doing a mediterranea repaint for the PMDG 600 and 800WL. On behalf of the company, would it be possible to have it developed here by someone up to the task? Here's a picture of the general idea, which is an improvement over the standard livery. More improvements in the looks if good are more than welcome! Thank you in advance
  20. Hi!! When setting up the EFIS panel if you select FPV (the first button to the right of the mins knob) it will show a series of marks on your PFD that depict the values discussed above (thus giving you an indication of the plane's heading deviation from the track to compensate for the wind). It is a good tool for navigation especially on approaches and landings with unusually high winds. Hope it helps PS all this is discussed in the Tutorials, you should really give them a go!
  21. Hi Jas I have experienced (and am experiencing for that) the same problem. In my occasion it was when I was trying approaches on Paro airport (VPQR). It's a high altitude airport (minimums are about 12000 feet). It happens to me when I load the aircraft not from cold and dark and not set the pressurizzation panel. Hope it helps
  22. Hi! First thing first, you need to sign your posts with complete name (see http://forum.avsim.net/topic/245586-you-must-sign-your-full-real-name-to-posts-to-use-this-forum-posts-without-names-will-be-deleted/) Secondly, assuming you've got a force feedback joystick I think it is quite correct behaviour for it to shake during taxi and incresing the vibrations with speed. I don't have a FF joystick, is it not normal behaviour?
  23. Oh no!! You've done it now guys, now I have to buy it!
  24. Awesome video mate! What's the ground services addon? Is it worth it? Cheers
