  1. Yeah gorgeous textures, a great program... BUT it doesn't inject the barometric pressure data!!!!!!!
  2. Hi all! please forgive my exasperate tone but I really am at a loss. I am fully aware this thread is dangeriously off topic but I post it here because the issue happened with the NGX and I am unsure wether the plane played a part in it and also (more importantly) because I know how knowledgeable and technically expert the average users of this forum are and so I hope they'll give me a hand. Apologies for the exploitation. This morning I run the windows calibration utility fo my saitek x52 and after that, for some reason the throttle has stopped working properly. It now gets stuck (sometimes straight away, sometimes after a couple of seconds) around 50% and doesn't respond to imputs (it moves slightly but then it resets to that awful 50%. It looks like something is defaulting the throttle to that position as I've tried assigning other axes to it and it still does the same. Works fine with keyboard. When calibrating through FSUipc the axis management sees the throttle but the calibration utility just keeps flickering in the range 250-350 (throttle range is something like -16000 to +16000). Not sure if it could be a problem with FSUIPC but cannot test because I am unsure on how to uninstall it (and if it is advisable due to so many programs using it) and was unable to do anything about it despite trying for 2 hours. Here's my (unresolving) trobleshooting so far: 1.tested the joystick on other platforms - works fine 2. updated the drivers - nothing happened 3.tried to map the throttle through FSUIPC - the axis management sees the range but the calibration just flickers between 250-350 3. tried mapping other axes to the throttle - same problem 4.tried deleting and re-generating FSX config file - same issue but joystick moved for the first 10 secs or so before reverting back to the described behaviour 5.tried disabling and re enabling the controller on pc - nothing happened 6. tried any possible combination of key/axes assignment on FSUIPC - nothing happened 7. tried disabling the saitek control panel and leave windows to "see" the throttle as a default one - nothing happened The problem, in my opinion seems to reside in either FSUIPC of FSX itsef (but having deleted the config, shouldn't it be resolved) In the hope that someone has some fresh idea, Thanks all! 4. Cheers guys, will start tonight with ENBN!! Will let you know
  5. Hi all! I remember with pleasure a wonderful tour I did for my VA a couple of years back. It was a tour of the most challenging airports for approach type, rwy length, weather etc of Norway and it was based around the ATR71. I really enjoyed it and I am looking at popping up to Norway again and trying to re-create it but flying it with the 600. Any suggestions about airports accessible by the 737-600 cut still quite challenging? Any idea is welcome and other Scandinavian countries will do just as well. Just really like the challenge of the weather up there combined with a difficult non precision approach. Thanks in advance!

  7. 100% arabica is the way forward. Dark, smooth and tasty. And on your second cup you're running around like a ferret on amphetamines!
  8. Hi Brian and hi all! I was just wondering, is FS2crew planning an edition for the Quality Wings Bae146/AvroRJ recently become available for purchase? Regards
  9. http://video.repubblica.it/mondo/germania-ultimo-volo-dell-aereo-militare-sfiorata-la-tragedia/108176?video=&ref=HRESS-10 Yeah, what the hell happened there? Anybody care for a guess?
  10. No. I remember reading about a similar problem in another post. It's a problem with the fonts, I would submit a support ticket to PMDG to obtain the right fonts. I think they should send you a file. Ps in case of a pirated version the MFD and other gauges are not installed and are substituted by a sticker reading "removed for maintenance" or somethig similar. Hope it helps!
  11. Hey Steve no worries. It's actually a good point that I hope somebodymore knowledgeable can clarify for us. What are the SOPs concerning leaving the APP mode? Is it allowed in other cases than a non standard event? If so what are the ways? In MY point of view selecting the APP mode is a commitment to land and in case of using a gs for a circle to land procedure the way I always thought was right to do it was to follow the gs, disconnect the AP and circle in manual
  12. Steve first of all thanks for fishing the reference out of the FCOM, I was walking back home from work and since I'm not God I couldn't remember the specific chapter and page. I think it's unrealistic because seems fumbly to me. Turning everything off and back on. Plus why would you fly a circle to land with the AP? Especially Near high terrain? I am unsure how you would do it in reality. I am pretty certain that a circle to land procedure is flown manually after turning the ap off and not re-engaging the ap. Just my personal view, I do not mean it to be set in stone, just an open thought
  13. Hi all. Yes this has been discussed before and not long ago. The post if you look for it explains it quite well. Anyway in a nutshell, once the airplane is in APP mode the only way to get out of it is to either turn the whole thing off (unrealistic) or hit the TOGA button (not applicable). There are ways to exit the App mode explained in the manuals (can't remember where, see the other post as mentioned) but just notice that if you're flying the circle to land to rwy8 at lowi you have no need to use the app mode for the descent, can do it very well in vnav. If you fly in with the app mode your only option is to disconnect the AP at ab and fly the rest manually. Hope it helps
  14. Uh dear... Just found out that my problem in not being able to insert multiple wps was due to me being a numty and selecting the same LSks. What a div!! Well at least now I know what fly over is lol
  15. Yeah, I was thinking about it, whay WX radar is that Dan W?
  16. Thank you for the tip Eric, will try it asap and let you know. Would be such a pity not to be able to sort this tiny but massively annoying thing! Thanks again
  17. Hi all! I'm trying to properly set up the voice control version of FS2crew of the J41 but I don't seem to be able to assign a joystick button to the soft mute function. I should point out that I am a long time user of the FS2crew voice version for the NGX and never had a problem. I assigned various keys through fsuipc to a joystick button and assigned the same key to the soft mute function but no success. Number one when I open the FS2crew config manager the soft mute assignement is always blank (even if I choose the save and close option) and I've tried several keys both in the pre loaded ones in the scroll down list of the config manager and assigning new ones. I am executing everything as admin. Any ideas? Regards, Matteo Capocefalo
  18. Mh that's interesting. As I said, maybe adding REX has just tipped the balance of your CURRENT settings for them to be to much for your setup? Try playing around with them a bit? Try installing the lighter texture on REX and see how it goes. Experiment, you can alway go back later if you find out it wasn't that..
  19. Hi Daniel. In the thousand possible answers I'd say one possibility is performance related. On final you've got lots of things happening (gear down and it's impact on drag, the flaps doing the same etc..) plus the terrain is closer. Were you using some scenery for the airport? I'd try lowering/tuning the settings for a start.
  20. HI peter! Are you able to get the winds aloft data for flying with the NGX in opus? The screnies look brilliant!
  21. I see. Thought as much TBH. It's not that big a deal as 1 the wps are listed in the pln page and 2 the become visible as you progress in your flight. I need to fly that route again and test it really! Thank you all for your replies!
  22. Yeah, I think it was more of a theoretical sort of question (just curious if the option is modelled/present in the real A/C). Concerning the practical implications I am afraid this is turning into one of those situations where one asks a question and progressiviely realizes that the question was pointless lol
  23. Well was thinking about the delta button on Airbus' CDU. Practical implications e.g. Obstables in proximity, lining up etc.
  24. Hi all, just wondering, is the overfly function present in the NGX's CDU? And if not, how to force the Lnav to stick to a precise path over wps as opposed to the more efficient (cutting corners, etc..) default? Thank you all
