  1. Well I've only ever been flying 3rd party repaints, and I just found this post: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/382437-f1-mustang-has-foggy-windows/ It's possible the repaints I'm flying are using the test version windows.. I'll have to try the default liveries and see. Basically around the edges of the windscreen I can see the brown tint ending like it's painted on, maybe realistic on the test one I don't know but I'd just like to customise it. Hopefully it's as simple as changing those liveries to use the non-test mustang windows
  2. I've been doing alot more night flights lately, and FS2Crew turns on a "logo" light that lights up the tail. It looks fantastic on some of the better liveries. But I can't for the life of me find that switch in the cockpit, I want to be able to control it manually too. It's not in the normal bank of light switches. Does anyone know the switch for this?
  3. I think she's not dated at all. Up to the standard of most addons that are released. She has a GNSXLS FMS which is not as advanced as Boeing but it gets the job done and is easy to use. They did not implement the hold function or AFIS, but between the RMI, DME, clock and the PFD you can fly holds manually with some practice. Still the BEST regional Turboprop out there until Majestic releases their Dash 8 Q400.
  4. Thanks I'll check it out. On the J41 for the OP I think the sound is ok too, sometimes I have a problem but I just hit Q twice and it fixes it. My only gripe with this plane is the lack of Hold feature in the FMS, have to fly holds manually. Also the hardware support is a pain to program, other than that I agree she's probably my favorite or second favorite plane
  5. I do love my little Mustang, but the brownish windows can get on my nerves. Has anyone out there found a way to remove the tint and care to share it? I'm wondering too if it can be done without affecting the icing effects many thanks
  6. I only switch mine to default for installing non-orbx sceneries. After the install, I switch it back. I fly anywhere without it changing from default, and it doesn't cause a problem.
  7. Mixture? common problem with jets is underlying FSX code still cuts off the engine if mixture is at cutoff.. Or were you referring to the sim shutting down? Hi, Could you please share that link? I have the Mustang and would love more FPS. Many thanks
  8. Lol I've started using TTS voices so I can put anything I want into the checklists. I started with "Captain please don't kill the $&$&ing Mechanic this time"
  9. Checklists CoolP I started making my own because I don't like half the checklists that come with planes. MCE voice checklist feature is awesome. I've only done it for the Avro and my GA planes so far but I hope to do it for all my planes. I do include "Mechanic you can disconnect now", his wife requested that to get a discount on his life insurance Plus I insert GSX, ATC and all that stuff in them as needed.
  10. Nice, ROF just keeps getting better. I've logged too many hours in the multiplayer I'm having a break, but I'll update and get back into it eventually
  11. Thanks, I found I can register if I send an email and they can manually create an account. It seems the big spam monster hit them pretty hard. I did see Al post less than months ago but not much recently
  12. That's pretty cool, did you consider also Mayday NGX?
  13. Yeah I had the same confusion, when the Simcheck product was announced I got excited because I thought it was FS2Crew for the A300
  14. On the Simcheck A300 the logo on the Yoke is starting to get on my nerves, I'm not artistically inclined so I was hoping to get the DDS file off someone else. Now I saw on their forum that someone has done it here: http://simchecksoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=387.msg1451#msg1451 However when I try and register it says that registration is closed, so I can't contact them. Is anybody able to share a modified yoke a300_vc004.dds file with me if you have it already? or would be willing to contact the guy at simcheck? Many thanks
  15. It's not that simplified really, I don't have the CLS but from what I read the CLS was quite simple, maybe on par with the QW 757. This is a good step up from their 757. I have the J41 as well and I would say this is on par (although the J41 does have almost every switch, it's a simpler aircraft), there is a cold and dark panel state you can load in the FMC and you can do the full startup procedure, you can do reduced rate takeoffs, steep approaches by inhibiting terrain warning, there is TCAS (simple version), you can integrate the RXP or CS weather radar into the VC, it's really got lots of good stuff to play with. The automatic spoilers and yellow/green hydraulic systems are there, you can do full catIII autolands, the FMC can import from FSBuild in the 757 format, it can do SIDS and STARS, it has a Hold feature, VNAV, PLAN, PROG, etc. There are a couple of switches on the overhead panel that don't work, but not many and not things that are essential for FS. There is no failures module either, but in general it has over 90% of the switches etc working. Download their manual from their website and have a look, you'll see what I mean there is plenty there to keep us interested. Especially since we will get the 146's free in stage 3 to play with as well.
  16. There's no walk camera but in external view you can "walk around" the plane using the arrow keys and panning. You just have to ensure POV mode is turned on for that view
  17. Good luck Bob, don't let simming get in the way of family. Simming is supposed to be enjoyable and enrich our lives, but if it's not doing this anymore.. If you're a studious person though watch out as something else might rise up to take the place of simming... although only you can decide if this is a bad thing or not. Myself I am like that, I want to keep my mind ticking over and I'm restless if it's not. If it weren't simming, I would be doing something else similar anyway. I need to be able to use my mind otherwise life is well not interesting for me. If you're already an outgoing person though then you'll be ok with more outgoing hobbies and family time etc. After 25 years (more than me) I'm sure you've tried all the tricks (pausing it no matter what, limiting the hours you allow yourself to sim, setting aside family time etc), and if the old tricks aren't working then an extended break could be very healthy for you. Best of luck for the future, I hope it works out
  18. Cool hopefully the Bae, it's a big step up from the 757 so I think most of the 757 flyers have moved over to flyin it instead. On the Simcheck A300, can we get a list of voice commands available as well? For captainsim 777 I would be interested to see what people are flying the most when PMDG releases their version, and if it gets released before 1.0 or not. There might be some people making the switch, but only time will tell Cheers
  19. There is a few responses over there, I'm not sure if you're a licensed owner though to see them. There is interest, but it's not a million screaming fans unfortunately. Our F/O is not a rockstar yet
  20. Hi Just one thing on checklists. If I try to cancel a checklist when the checklist is paused, it doesn't cancel it. It looks like it cancel, then it won't let me start the next checklist. I can get around it by "resume checklist" first, just a small thing but thought I'd let you know.
