Not looking to gain anything with windows 8 but i thought since im going to do a full reinstall of fsx, this might be a good time to upgrade. I know windows 8 has its issues and I have it one one of my laptops so Im pretty used to using it and getting around windows 8. My only issue is fsx compatibility. Some say even better performance? Not sure how true that is.

Its been awhile since Ive done a whole reinstall of FSX, I like to do that at least once a year. But since I am willing to go through all that trouble I was going to update to windows 8. Is it safe at this point with most addons? Last I heard LVLD 767 which I own and fly alot is not. Most likely will not use that aircraft once the PMDG 777 comes out. But PMDG 747 I use quite often too along with ifly 737. Some other sceneries I own are FSDreamteam, Opus, Ultimate traffic, GSX.. FS Global amd UTX USA and Europe. Thanks for any suggestions and help!

Hmm. Have u looked at fswidgets.com? I use that one they have an iPad app and a windows or Mac app that run outside of fsx using simconnect. You choose the what to put in there, checklists or charts. You can also load the GPS map and view a moving map and you can monitor your flight from an android device too. Check em out!

Thank you for your detailed response, I am midflight now, and I did what you asked by resetting all settings to default, setting destination, max cruise altitude. I never changed that field and it always has been 41000 if I recall correctly. I updated the weather and still nothing. Do I have to restart fsx for this?

Hello, I am running version 3.2 but Ive had this issue since I have purchased the product. Didnt think too much of it but now its starting to bug me whether I have something inconfigured correctly. I am never able to Get the upper or lower atmospherinc conditions. It always says no data available for those two. Thank you for any help with this issue.

Best idea is to wait for the new release before purchasing it. Hopefully this or next weekend.

Well UTX comes with landclass doesnt it? I see an entry for it. Actually 3 different entries, custom, urban, vegetation then there is another one (europe only) should i group all these together? I downloaded the scenery configuration tool but it doesnt show me any of my addon scenery. Just the default.

This is frustrating, I think I got same issue here, but i'm still confused.. I enabled ftx global, it put 2 different items into the scenery library. I ended up putting them on very top then, utx usa and Canada then airports, and then the default fsx entries. Can someone enlighten me? I'm not home right now so I cannot try it but should I move the ftx global entries below the utx ones? I disabled the utx lighting. Thank you for any help.

Your nightlight might work fine but good luck seeing the runway or the airport on that matter at Munich at night using DX10. I tried it, and it is a great idea. I just got my first ooom the other day sitting at kjfk with ftx-global, utx usa, pmdg 747-8, and fsdt jfk v2. I think it was bound to happen. Until the night textures are fixed ill stick with dx9 =) If I was able to switch between dx9 and 10 without restaring the sim I would of stuck with dx10.

Because there are no 2D panels, you should not have any issues with spinning circle. Wors case scenario is resizing the pop up for the EFIS, FMC, Etc.. If you have problems, I can help you out.

Pretty cool, you have to see the airbus version of this when the crew end up having to evacuate the aircraft. The livery on this aircraft is gorgeous!
