  1. I am making some progress by adjusting the spring constant and damping ratio. I make such darn good landings that the loads are transferred slowly and the compression is difficult to see but definitely there
  2. Whenever I see a brouhaha like this I smile and pat myself on the back for my "no update" rule, which is whenever something as complex as our sims and all the complex add ons is running well, I DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I've been seeing the ASN "Please update me" screen pop up the last day or so and I've said NO, NO,NO, and will continue to say NO, NO, NO for the foreseeable future. Once the bodies have been cleared and the software wizards figure it out, then maybe I'll let ASN update itself. Until then........NO, NO, NO
  3. Ah, to quote another poster on one of these threads ".....she's like a beautiful woman who hurts you but you come back...". I walked away but couldn't stay away. So today's question is this: do the mains compress when you touch down? I have a habit of replaying my landings to grade myself and I noticed that the gear doesn't seem to compress as the aircraft touches down and the wings lose lift. Has anyone looked at this? Is it my imagination? I have other aircraft where the compression is very clearly observable. Sooo, I've begun experimenting with softening the spring constant of the mains. Thoughts?
  4. Dedek: What often works for me in that type of situation is to discard my Previous Flight and rename a different flight which you know works ok to Previous Flight. Don't forget to rename the Wx file and the Flight Plan file also. Usually starts up ok to the earlier flight renamed Previous Flight.
  5. For those interested in a bizjet, the ESDG Cessna X is a very, very nice aircraft. Stable as a rock, nice to look at. I installed the NT750 and use it like a tablet en route to find key waypoints and the airport charts.
  6. That's it. I'm finished with this thing. I've worked on this for nearly a month now along with all of you and it just doesn't work. This aircraft is ok for VFR but it is unsuitable in its present condition for any IMC operations. The AP is just too loose. It does wild oscillations in heading and altitude trying to engage the localizer and glide slope. Mine doesn't even see the glideslope. It's a beautiful aircraft to look at and hand flies well. Our colleagues have labored tirelessly trying to salvage it but to no avail. I have noticed the traffic has dropped off on this page so it appears that I am not alone. So long. Back to a different bizjet.
  7. Yes I did fly into some rain yesterday and it works just as you say on my system. Thank you
  8. Well, Fr, as you know, there are situations where you want to stay clean fairly late in the approach in this aircraft. What provoked me to ask this was today I was landing at BOS RW 22L. I was on an 8 mile or so final at 1500 agl wanting to maintain 140-160 until the glide slope came alive. Well, the screech goes off and the only way to stop it is to set flaps 7 and lower the gear, slowing to 130 or so against a 10 knot headwind waiting for a 767 or such to overtake me and one of us gets invited to go around. I'd be ok with it if there was a button to push to silence the thing, a la Boeing aircraft. No thought of no flaps landing, just trying to stay out of the way of the big boys at a busy airport.
  9. Has anyone figured out how to eliminate the screech when you are on final and slow below 160 while clean? Thanks
  10. I believe you can do it all within one instance by setting up different panel names in the same aircraft folder. Within the aircraft.cfg file you can name panel=panel.bert in a particular aircraft description. Then just place the different panel folders in the same aircraft folder. Make sense?
  11. JustAnotherPilot: Could you please explain how you have wx radar on the MFD? I thought the button was a placebo?? Thanks
  12. As for the Hawker, after this experience I'll watch a bunch of other guys buy it and find the bugs and the bugs get fixed, then I'll consider it.
  13. People are working very hard trying to salvage this beautiful aircraft. My advice would be watch and wait to see how this finally settles out. Someone else may have a better idea on how long it is going to take.
  14. I've lost many strands of hair off my head over the years on FS quirks like this. BTW, I've owned your CX for a number of years now and I still think it is among the best aircraft available to us from the standpoint of reliability, performance, and handling. And graphics as well. Nice VC cockpit and C & Ds simple. Nice touches like click noises and copilot callouts. I've tried other bizjets, including the most recently released and always come back.
  15. Problem solved by loading an earlier flight with a similar aircraft with a center tank that was feeding correctly. After loading the flight I moved the aircraft to my desired location and shut down FSX. Then restarted and selected the aircraft of interest here and voila! center tank feeding properly. This trick has gotten me out of deep holes in the past. Good reason to have a library of flights saved with each aircraft used in FSX. Over the years I've had numerous occasions where something weird was going on that I eliminated by just loading one of the earlier successful flights where everything was working well.
  16. Easy Ron.... I'm not asking for ESDG product support. This is a broader FSX question. And I do understand the role of the center tank feeding the wing tanks in the CX. What I tried to say above is that the center tank is not feeding anything at all. I suspect that, as often happens in FSX and others, that one of the aircraft I had loaded earlier set a flag somewhere in the sim that is preventing the wing tank from feeding the wing tanks with the fuel transfer switches in Normal. Thanks for your help. Regards
  17. Hi all: I have a problem here that I really didn't know where to take it so I brought it here. In FSX I've been flying various bizjets and settled in on the ESDG Citation X. Well, something has gotten corrupted along the way which results in the center fuel tank not feeding automatically as it is supposed to, and used to at one time in this aircraft. Similar to the B737 the center tank is supposed to feed automatically until close to empty, then fuel is drawn from the wing tanks. Right now with this aircraft in my system, the ESDG Citation X, the fuel is feeding from the wing tanks only. In order to cause the center tank to feed I must turn on the switches that override the automatic system to feed from the center tank. Something is screwed up. I checked the .cfg file for the ESDG Citation X and there are no entries for the fuel tank order. I tried loading a default 737, exiting FSX, then launching FSX and loading the Citation. Thought that would work but no joy. I'd appreciate any ideas on how to clear this up. Thanks
  18. I call up the pop up that offers the selection and click on Cold and Dark at the end of my flight, expecting a cold and dark start up for the next flight. No matter what I do the aircraft starts up with the engines running. Everything else is cold and dark though.
  19. Could someone please tell me how to search the CTD forum? I can't find a search button. I tried the Google search box up at the top but didn't seem to get much. Thanks
  20. I'm running ISG/Janek. I run UT2 and have 85% commercial and GA set in FSX. I see plenty of traffic on the MFD and on the PFD EHSI.
  21. If you look carefully on the throttle quadrant there are two silver colored hooks just forward of the throttles. The easiest way to see them is in the VC just shift+enter a few times to raise your eyepoint. Clicking on the hooks will raise them up to shut down, click to lower before starting. They are the fuel feeds. The GPU will power up when you select it in the pop up. Another solution to the battery running down is to select infinite battery in FSUIPC.
  22. Yes I see this also all the time. It is always a prudent thing in my experience with any aircraft/FMS to go to Heading lateral mode before entering new waypoints, then go Direct to the next waypoint after making the changes.
  23. I really just looked at it to see what it was all about. I'm sticking with Janek's work and ISG. Working well and great frames. And I agree. I like the plane.
  24. Thank you so much! I've been doing this hobby for 20 years and didn't know this. Very helpful. Thanks again!!
