  1. After installing the HF3 client I can apply a preset but it doesn't seem to be working in P3D (shaders look like default). Shaders and cfg were deleted first. When I exit PTA I get 'I/O Error 103'. Anyone have an idea what this means or how to fix it?
  2. The biggest company with the greatest resources and most beta testers should clearly produce bug free software...……… oh, Windows 10...………😆
  3. The solution was originally provided by @onurair - so we all owe him a virtual beer 🍻
  4. @SolRayz Irrespective of your experience, it worked for me and at least two other person (see the thread). The solution will obviously depend on the root cause of the problem. This is just one potential fix - not a panacea.
  5. @spilok your glass panels are showing the same reduced resolution I saw after installing some 3rd party aircraft (i.e., the enlarged airport designators on the gps). The solution is in the thread I linked. Running the delete generated files restored my glass panels and gps gauges back to the correct resolution. Beware that this will also remove your add-ons and control settings etc., so have some backups of required files. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/573529-how-do-i-fix-pixelated-panels-p3d-v5/
  6. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/573529-how-do-i-fix-pixelated-panels-p3d-v5/ This thread might/might not help. Depends if gauges are also affected.
  7. Unfortunately not. Deleting the generated files didn't remove any aircraft so I didn't need to reinstall.
  8. I'm not sure we're all having the same issue, but in my case Onurair's solution fixed the problem. Using 'Delete Generated Files' returned all glass panel gauges and gps displays back to their original resolution. It was actually less painful than I thought it would be. P3D detected all add-ons and reactivated them. Running OrbX Central restored he rest of the scenery. Biggest problem was getting Traffic Global active again, but it worked eventually. There might be other things missing at this stage, but hopefully nothing major. Thanks everyone for their suggestions and especially to Onurair for the solution.
  9. exe.xml to edit is in User\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5
  10. I did follow your suggestion and doubled the pixel sizes in the panel.cfg for the Carenado King Air. It improved the image slightly, but didn't change the problem with the gps image (presumably the default gps) and I don't want to do it for all aircraft. It does seem that in my case installing something has altered the way in which glass gauges are displayed. The gps in the AC-11 included with v5 shows the same issue, so I'm assuming it's a systemic problem. I'll try Onurair's solution to return settings to default - uninstalling and reinstalling the client and content didn't fix it. It's the price for rushing in with too many add-ons - but I'm an experimentalist!!
  11. @regis9 Thanks for the info. Time to back-track on my installations!
  12. @onurair Thank you for the solution! Unfortunate that it is so drastic. Looks like I have no choice if I want to get my A2A Comanche gps back. I can only assume it was installation of a Carenado aircraft that caused the problem. If I find the culprit I'll post back. Thanks to all for your helpful input.
  13. Has anyone managed to fix this low res panel issue? I posted on the P3D forum but no response. The panel.cfg files show the same resolution in both v4 and v5, but they are displayed differently. Is this problem limited to only a few users?
  14. Is the low resolution of panels also affecting other aircraft in your sim? The gps in my A2A Comanche is showing a low res image. This is also happening on the default AC-11. Just wondering if this is a general problem?
  15. The 'problem' seems to be some incompatibility between the old weather themes and Truesky. Setting 'Winter Wonderland' doesn't produce snow because it sets the cloud type to stratus. Changing the clouds to cumulus allows snow. Rain also requires a single layer of precipitation. What worries me now is that I'm so pleased to see rain and snow - I think I need to get out more!! Thanks to everyone for their input.
  16. Strange. I added a rain layer, but all I saw was fog. The particle effect was there for legacy but absent for Truesky. Will fiddle with more settings!
  17. While the weather depiction in v5 can be varied using the useful control panel, I haven't been able to see any rain or snow when using Truesky - all I see is increasing levels of fog even when stationary. While the legacy version provides over-done particle effects, is it possible for Truesky to render anything other than fog?
  18. Looks like it is something to do with Scaleform. Perhaps vector graphics interfering with device function?
  19. Traffic Global works in v5, you just need to edit the add-on.xml file in Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\TrafficGlobal. While TG does have an install button for v5 it adds the wrong file address to the xml. The programme adds Rich's\OneDrive\ (presumably the Rich from JF) instead of the correct user Documents folder.
  20. Beau Hollis posted on the P3D forum "There is a known issue with ATC causing a device hung error. We are looking into it. "
  21. Same thing happens at different airports and with different planes on my setup. Interact with the ATC menu and then shortly afterwards get the DGXi error.
  22. If you have the Logitech drivers installed for v4 then you can point the exe.xml in v5 to the appropriate place and at least the multipanel will work. Add something like this to exe.xml <Launch.Addon> <Name>Logitech Plugin for Prepar3D</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>C:\Program Files\Logitech\Prepar3D V4 Plugin\LogiPrepar3D.exe</Path> <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine> </Launch.Addon>
  23. Does that only apply to Truesky? Is the weather injection by REX Skyforce with default skies just an illusion?
  24. There is a statement on their News page which is somewhat surprising: "2) removal of copyright on our products, so that you will be allowed to legally and freely copy and distribute our products with your friends". Yet they ask for continued support in buying their products. Not entirely sure what to make of it.
  25. Great stuff! Glad you got the problem sorted. Hope you enjoy it.
