Relatively new again to FSX. Years ago I "played" with FS but my hardware and the product functionality at that time did not keep my interest. I must say that even with some of the small problems I am amazed at how well FSX DX10 performs even with the low end hardware I have. I have only recently added some addons and even then I am getting acceptable performance. I agree with the comment earlier that to move and rebuild and perhaps have to give up some addons is not too inviting for me. I want to SIM not tweak hardware and software. I am surprised that there are still some commercial developers who say that "since FSX DX10 is preview, we do not support any problems you have".....but I think the trend is that more and more commercial developers are seeing the advantage of pursueing a DX10 compatability and support path. Thanks to all the members and staff of AVSIM who provide us newbies with invaluable input on issues and solutions!!

I am new to AVSIM but worked in the computer industry for 42 years. Based upon the facts that were presented (and particularly the EULA problem), this probably needed to be done and perhaps sooner rather than later. I would have lost my job if I had "performed" in the manner Word Not Allowed had!!! This web site and members are too important for many of us to have a fun and productive time with simming, so THANKS to everyone who contributes in a positive manner.

I also "lucked" onto MyTrafficX professional and really like the mixture of AI (even if not 100% accurate) but I take very little FPS hit with it and I have a low end system. But as was mentioned before it really is an individual preference.

THANK YOU Gentlemen!!! I believe each of your suggestions have added significant stability to my FSX environment. I am now enjoying NO blurries, stutters, anomalies, etc. In addition my FPS has increased so that I now get a consistent 30-40 FPS and I have even seen it go into the 50's and 60's! Only thing I did find out is that with FSX AI plus MyTraffic AI I had to idle down the percentage on both Airline and GA traffic. If I did not I would be in constant "go around" mode!! :lol: THANKS!!!!!!

Thanks Paul for taking the time to review my CFG and make recommendations. I will try those changes and see how much of an impact they have. I am an "old" engineer, so will probably make the changes in gradual steps so I can determine what changes are having what impact. Thanks again Paul for that input, it is VERY much appreciated.

I am running FSX DX11 and getting very good FPS. I have installed Steve Parson's shader fixes v3.2.2 and they are working fine. The following happened at 4,000 feet with low ceiling and just inland off the coast of Florida. They did clear up as I dropped altitude for an approach but I was curious if anyone might have an idea what caused this other than DX. Is it one of my settings? Thanks!

I am NOT very familiar with modifying FSX files. How can I get it to rebuild my SimObjects (preferably aircraft only) after a minor change to one of my aircraft? On my other computer which I also run FSX I use FSPS Extreme and there is a button to select to rebuild SimObjects. I don't want to pay for another version of that program and I have searched and searched the forums and can not seem to find an answer. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide me. :rolleyes:

I installed Steve's DX10 fixes (including the latest v3.2.2) and I have ONLY ran with DX10 (Windows 7 - 64 bit) and have loved it!! Still an occasional odd graphic appears BUT nothing major and the performance has been excellent. Steve has done a wonderful service for all of us hoping to use DX10. :lol:
