  1. All of the reasons I switched to VC have been stated and I agree. As for the default King Air, I fly it in VC but I did purchase the Friendly Panels upgrade, and I used 2D initially but quickly switched to VC after a couple trys AND configure my yoke buttons a little. I also fly the Captain Sim C-130 and would NOT even consider using the 2D in that baby. Try it for a few flights and keep fine tuning you will (I bet) eventually just about all of your flight time in VC.
  2. Just received email notice that PacSim is releasing NCRG this week. Nice scenery work!!! http://islandsim.com/index.html
  3. That is an amazing story. It is hard to believe that people stayed on for over 2 years with no pay. I wonder why management did not do something years ago to be more competitive and innovative in their services. WOW...
  4. From their web site, supported FSX: Flight Simulator, Flight Simulator X (DX9 only).
  5. Due to family needs I never had/took the opportunity to attempt any kind of aviation career. I have always had a love affair with airplanes and even in the days of Commodore 64 had some flying "games". I had an old version of MSFS from about 10 years ago that I came across about a year ago. I decided then to buy MFS X Gold and dug into it. Within the first month I came across AVSIM and really started using MSFS as not just a "game" but as a learning tool, THANKS to a lot of help from the Staff and Members on AVSIM. After a little more than one year I now I guess I am really hooked. Being retired I have a lot more time to really learn about aviation as well as the different knowledge and skill needed for different aircraft. I have circled the globe several times in MSFS and now am "working" on flying into and out of as many airports (throughout the world) as I can. I very seldom go back to the same airport (except to try a different plane). I am now "flying" 100% real settings, 100% real weather and learning a lot! I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!!!
  6. Another sad tragedy, too many in the last month, RIP and prayers to the family and friends.
  7. LOL...I have MTX too and it sure is it!! I wonder what other "little" surprises are out there? I now have to fly in/out of CYAY!!!!! :Applause: :yahoo:
  8. I too would be interested in hearing ANYTHING from a RW pilot about flying twins. Thanks for the offer and look forward to what ever you share with us. THANKS............
  9. I have a low end system, installed some of these and notice no (if any little) FPS hit. It does add another level of realism depending upon where and how you fly. I think they are great and worth a try. I too have been fortunate to have travelled in RL on a freighter (around the world) and his ships/routes are pretty accurate.
  10. Thanks Paul for that "insight" and I appreciate the work that you are doing with Steve. I can hardly wait for the product to be available. :clapping:
  11. I may not have made my earlier post/question clear. When Steve says "The experimental fix also seems to works for planes with embedded lights." does embedded mean lights which are part of the model (mdl) and not the aircraft.cfg? Thanks for any and all insight into this.......
  12. Paul, I understand you have been doing a lot of testing with Steve P on his soon to be released Product. Last year when I first started on AVSIM I was working with Steve on the Nav Light issues. One issue which was left is; if nav lights are not visiable from the cockpit view, BUT are visiable in all exterior views, THEN that means lights are controlled in the model NOT in the aircraft.cfg. Am I correct in assuming that Steve's Product will NOT be able to address this issue. The problem occurred on the default King Air with Friendly Panels installed in DX10. Thanks
  13. Yes, I would not mind having that to run my FSX on.........................

  15. Wow.... haven't you guys had enough earth shaking for awhile??? Keep your ears to the ground and your running shoes on!!!
  16. Thanks I thought that might be the case since they are both in Australia. Any more "big" quakes or tremors recenty in NZ?
  17. I was wondering is there any ownership or management between FlightSim Store and Orbx? I know they have some kind of relationship in terms or sharing product (as I believe a lot of other simulator stores do) but is there any management/owners between the two? Does anyone know of simulator stores that are owned by developers (other than those developers who are selling on their web sites)?
  18. I have been using FSTramp for about 5 weeks in DX10 and have not had a problem with it.
  19. I have left my "negative" comments on the Orbx site directly to JV. I also requested that he delete my account and know that I will NEVER purchase an ORBX product now or in the future. I believe customers have a "right" to be heard and the OP only expressed his views about a product. I am happy without FTXG or any of their products. My opinion and you have a right to yours..................
  20. I thought I might dig deep into my pocket to buy it BUT after seeing some of the comparisons, and the DX10 problems, I think I will wait and see what develops. DX10 has come a long way (thanks to the efforts of Steve P and MANY others). Also many of the developers are addressing any DX10 issues they may have with updates or in new releases. I personally (IMHO) do not see the value of $91 US or $99 AUD in the quality of the scenery.

  22. This may have been posted earlier, and if so I apologize. I found it so amazing I wanted to make sure it was posted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afaYlJ8a1AU
  23. This is an "aviation" situation NOT political. Just to keep the facts straights, no portion of the reef was damaged (according to reports - I didn't inspect it personally).........
