  1. A couple of companies in the San Antonio area that specialize in aircraft painting: http://www.tejasaero.com/ http://www.deanbaldwinpainting.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_i9j-FBTKc http://www.portsanantonio.us/Webpages.asp?wpid=338 http://www.stasaa.com/
  2. Brian, I did another short flight (a little over 1 hour) and as clouds/fog grew heavy the show started!!! I am going on a TRAIN excurtion this weekend, so will not post again until mid next week. I am posting my details and links that might give more of a clue as to what is happening. Unfortunately I do not have the time to run another "test" flight before departing but will as soon as time permits next week. I will first eliminate ALL road traffic (FSX & MyTraffic) and test, then reduce AI traffice and test. Thanks for those pointers. I want to thank everyone for their time and effort in trying to find a solution for us POOR ATI users!!! 3. Charles, made the changes in both the fixer and CCC but to no avail. GREAT flight for about 90% and then the last 40nm were a disaster. I am going to keep trying, I am not ready to give up yet. Thanks for sharing your settings with me. Bob
  4. http://www.samoaair.ws/ They know how to handle it!!!!
  5. Charles, I just got spikes in extreme clouds and wind at 23,000 feet on a 4+ hour flight. I am going to dial back my fixer setting from 8x to 4x and try again. Paul, my road traffic is set at 10% and all other traffic is set to o%. My air traffic is set to 40%, GA at 10% and airport traffice at minimum. Bob
  6. Charles, I don't think this is THE answer. I tried it to see what happend BUT my other changes were still in place so one or several of them are keeping the spikes away!!!
  7. I just tried LOD at 6.5 and no artifacts/spikes!! I did get some stutter but your CPU/GPU are much stronger than mine so I would expect that. Hope others are having some luck!!
  8. I have a 7770 with CCC 13.9 and display driver 13.152.0.0.................... I have UTX but not GEX. I have FSGenesis and FScene 4X. I am running Steve's DX10 Scenery Fixer. I normally fly low (3-6,000 ft) and between 200-250 kts. I "had" the spikes and CAN force them back when I increase my scenery density AND try to run at a priority above Normal. I have monitored by GPU usage and I can push it to above 95% on a consistent basis. So right now "MY" solution is to keep scenery density at normal, radius medium and run at Normal priority using all CPU's. No CPU dedicated to an add-on. Of course IF I run into heavy clouds it definitely has an impact. My FPS hang between 15-25 and I have Unlimited set. I also have Bufferpools ON. I have very few stutters. I set CCC (AA Supersampling, enhance or override application settings and Tessellation AMD optimized). I do not use SweetFX or Radeon Pro. Hope this information helps getting to a conclusion for everyone. It would be nice if AMD comes back with an updated driver that solves all of our problems. I have NOT tried the latest Beta driver. Regards, Bob EDIT: My water setting is low 2.x............
  9. Well said!! +infinity...............THANKS to all!!
  10. Bionor: I am using 13.152.0.0 (date of 8/30/2013) and have not had a CTD. I am not using Radeon Pro and let CCC tell me the driver for my 7700 card. I am still getting an occasional artifact. Different scernarios are being tested.
  11. Way to go Jesse, you are on the right path of life!! :Applause:
  12. Interesting March 2012 interview with Tom Allensworth: http://forum.avsim.net/page/AVSIM%20Pages/jhoward. I did not know the background and history of Joshua Howard until reading this interview. He is NOT a "simmer" supporter, IMHO.
  13. I like this one!!!! :Applause: Instead of SteveFX how real name? Steve Parsons Do I have permission to use your banner?
  14. OK, I followed a routine of turning off ALL DX10SF options and uninstalling the libraries. Then I went back in reinstalled the libraries and one by one tested each of the shader options. It seems to me (and I am FAR from being an expert or really knowledgable about FSX DX10) that there is an issue with Water_Effects being set too high. I am not using the Water Shader and my Water_effects are set at Low 2.x or in the FSX.CFG = 4. I have NOT had any artifacts day or night sense reducing the water effects and not using the water shader option in DX10SF. If someone can challenge, explain or otherwise identify the/a corrective action - please do so. Thanks.....and I still believe the DX10SF is the best thing that has happened to FSX DX10 "Preview"!!!
  15. Based upon input I received from Steve I too have been "adjusting on/off" different DX10SF settings. My last flight had both cloud and water shaders turned off, and I did not get any artifacts. I am going back in and ONLY will have water shader turned off. EDIT: I also have buffer pools turned on.
  16. I am using MultiSamplesPerPixel=8, MultiSampleQuality=8 and it seems to work OK. I found my solution was the Priority setting. I can run OK at Normal or Above Normal, but High or Realtime will not work properly. I think Jim is 100% correct with this statement, at least that has been my experience.
  17. Well, I need to withdraw my earlier statement. Even with the priority changes I made I am getting the artifacts as well. ATI card with the DX10 Scenery Fixer. I updated my driver but I am still getting them. My driver for the 7700 is 13.152.0.0, dated 8/30/2013. I hope someone finds an answer or Steve get's us ATI users an update.
  18. Ron, she sent me an email and ask that I monitor what you say about flight simming!!!!
  19. I am probably not the right person to respond since I do NOT have the expertise or high powered system you have. I DO have an ATI Radeon card 7700 series. I had a small amount of these once and all I did was lower my priority setting by one notch. I can not run at Realtime and normally use Above Normal. I am using Steve's DX10 Scenery Fixer and I always fly in DX10 mode.
  20. I agree Ray. I find it interesting and helpful to know generally where people are coming from. If you look at my profile you will find that I have put a lot more detail in than most people. I really do want members to get an idea of who I am and where I am coming from when I ask for advice or make a comment. I also try to follow-up on every bit of advice I receive to let the contributing member know what results I got as a result of their suggestion or advice.
