Thanks for those links! More interesting information and it will probably take me a few reads to get a basic understanding of the techniques, but very interesting.

I have been "learning" about flying and FSX for a number of years. With the recent discussion about "new" simulators I thought I would see what information was available about FSX development and ESP evolution. I am going to include a few links that might be of interest to some of you. After looking at this material I am more enamored with FSX/ESP and the evolution. Perhaps some of you (particularly those that have dug into the SDK in depth - i.e.Steve Parsons, developers, etc.)already know most of this. I hope you find these interesting. I had similar problems months ago and decided to disable it and go with Plan-G. It is shareware but a donation is nice....................

Just to clarify those statistics are from Oct 2012, not just my around the world flights.

I did a similar trip last year BUT i stayed with twin engine turboprops, so that i could take in smaller airports AND run up my airport count. Here are some stats that I currently have: Flights,2801 Planes used,13 Airports used,1038 Landing,3649 Hours,3173.3 Night,1147.7 IFR,452.2 Multi,3149.8 Avg Flight Time,1.13 hours (67 min) As you can see most were ONLY a little over 1 hour, I did NOT do this in just a few days/weeks!!! LOL Luckily my wife was patient, and a lot were done late evening.

John, Thanks for the reminders. I downloaded Plan-G over two years ago but never installed or tried it. Thanks to your post I have downloaded the latest version and have used it for about 1 hour. Actually in the non-free Avast you can block pop-ups, including pop-ups selling Avast other products.

I use Avast at it has a silent/gaming mode, which I use. I can not see a performance difference in FSX whether I am running Avast or not. I am now on Windows 10 for FSX.

+1 same problem and I have not been able to find a solution, other than unplug and replug. My observation is that it does not happen all the time, but the majority of time. According to CH Products web site: " What Operating Systems are compatible with my CH Products game controller? All CH Products USB devices are compatible with all Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, 8 and 10, as well as MAC OSX 8.6 and above."............... My product is the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke.......................

It does not look like anyone else has a solution, so.....I have been running FSX without FSTramp for about 5 days. I am getting a much smoother, as well as higher FPS, without FSTramp. I think I am going to not use FSTramp any more and enjoy my flying.

I have not determined the cause yet but below is the response I received from the developer: Hello, unfortunately my answer is disappointing. I have no simple and helpful response. Your computer system is not stable. Cause could be: 1. Extreme change the FSX configuration, especially the graphics settings. 2. Improper graphics card driver or overclocking. 3. Windows 10 ? Jim, Thanks for that input. I am "slowly" monitoring Win 10 and making single changes and testing closely. I am sure I will figure out what (maybe the latest AMD driver?) is causing the problem. Bob

I am on Win 10 and have similiar issues. It seems to have started with Win 10 a couple of weeks ago.

Everything seems to be working, except that I am having problems at startup with my CH Products Flight Sim yoke not always being recognized. I have to unplug and replug it and it is OK. BUT is has ONLY been 6 days!! :wink:

I just finished by upgrade to Windows 10 and so far (24 hours) no major problems. I did have a problem with a couple of payware add-ons but it was my oversight. They have the ability to TRANSFER license (which you need to do since W10 is a "new" platform), but requested a reset of license keys and was able to get them working with no problem. Performance does seem a little better BUT time will tell. I am still a little nervous about Microsoft controlling the update process. Bob

I do have FSGenesis but checking the bgl file it is the default scenery from FSX. Are you saying that the mesh is creating this issue? Why would it only be for the airport? When I checked the airport elevation using AFX it was 1,000 feet lower that the actual elevation of the airport per the several airport web sites. Bob
