  1. And the links for the pics are: https://app.box.com/s/kxx7xo5qjsux46kb7jc0nfislrkbhhpx https://app.box.com/s/zl7zgcq2atm8x9sdw2pa1oucauavfv43
  2. If you happen to fly in or out of SBUL you may get a surprise! The elevation is incorrect. I was flying in at night, first time to this airport, and the only thing I could see was a dark hole!! I did not land there. Using daylight I went back and sure enough it was about a 1,000 foot hole. I did fly out of the hole................ I have some pictures but the paste of links is not working. Bob
  3. I am curious if there is anyone else who has set a goal of as many airports as possible? About 6 months after I started using FSX-MS I decided on a few special GA aircraft and kind of set a goal of how many airports I could fly from/to. I have been using FSX for a little over 3 years and am reaching the 1000 airport mark. Anyone else with this type of goal? Any suggestions? I primarily use CS C-130J and the default King Air 350 (with Friendly Panels - waiting for the final MV 350i). Most of my flights are around 1 hour with day and night, as well as real weather. Flights are both VFR and IFR, and mostly low altitude when possible. Thanks.............
  4. Thank you for all the "clues"!! I actually went back to an old FSX.CFG and sure enough no problems with manual engine startup. I appreciate all the replies and again added some more FSX knowledge to this old head of mine. THANKS!!
  5. Thanks Barry for the suggestions. I have tried those and no change. I also have checked out other aircraft and none have a problem except the King Air. I also set SIMOBJECTS to rebuild thinking that somehow cache was carried over, that did not help. I even took a copy of the 3 King Air SIMOBJECTS I have on a laptop and copied them over and still the problem persists. I am going to remove the Milviz King Air 350i completely and see if I can get the default King Air to work again. Perhaps someone from Milviz has some input since I only have the problem with the King Air (both Milviz and default). Thanks..... Bob Werab
  6. In the last week or so I am having a problem getting ANY engines on the King Air (default & Milviz) to start. They will not start using CTL E nor will they start using the panel switches. Any ideas or suggestions? My Baron 58 starts ok, as do my other aircraft. I have not made any changes to the aircraft except for installing the latest beta release of the Milviz 350i. I have also tried uninstalling the 350i but that does not seem to make a difference. I have to admit I have not flown any King Air recently and may just have forgotten a switch or step in the engine start procedure. Thanks in advance, Bob.
  7. So for general information purposes, what I have done and found out so far: 1. If you do a "repair" of FSX from the original CD's make sure that you also do a repair of Acceleration. 2. If you have payware aircraft or scenery (airports) you may have to install. 3. If you have backup copies of CFG files you can probably restore the latest working one and keep going from there. 4. May have to do some fine tuning on CFG. I do have FSX working again without a complete rebuild.
  8. I have read over the last three years about people loosing their FSX and having to rebuild......I guess it is now my turn after 3 years. I was having problems with engine starts on a variety of aircraft, some default some payware. I decided to do a FSX "repair" using my original CD's. Now I can not get it to load. 9. Canadian 737, I like that idea as well, PLEASE let me know how I can contribute. Bob Werab San Antonio, TX
  10. Rest in Peace Tom Allensworth and thank you for everything that you have done to add great enjoyment to so many people's lives. High Flight by John Magee Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunwards I’ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds – and done a thousand things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air, Up, up the long delirious burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, Where never lark, or even eagle, flew; And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of god.
  11. Another tragedy with family and friends losing part of themselves, peace be with family and friends, and RIP to the crew and passengers.
  12. Of no interest to me either. I have my FSX DX-10 working well AND enjoying it. No reason to switch BUT I hope that the people that do switch enjoy it.......
  13. Tom, so sorry to hear the news. You have a great staff at AVSIM to take care of it. I hope you are able to take the time to spend as much quality time with your family and friends that time will permit. From the bottom of my heart, my prayers and my families, will be with you. May God bless you...............
  14. Thanks Ron, I could not seem to find the answer but you gave me the one I wanted to hear!!! :Applause:
  15. Here you go: https://stevesfsxanalysis.wordpress.com/how-to-purchase/
  16. Ron, Perhaps you know the answer to this, if not I will contact Steve. If we purchased the StevesFX Fixer from the FlightSimStore will we continue to get updates beyond 2.7 from that site or go to Steve's Store. I did not see the answer on his page, I guess I can also post my question there. Thanks, Bob
  17. I also use FSTramp and have had no problems with it. I primarily use it as a moving map so that I have some idea of the general terrain area I am flying over at that moment. It does have a fly-to and a skip-to capability as well.
  18. Thanks for sharing, I have been to the Boneyard many times and it is GREAT that another one made it out alive!!!
  19. Jim..............just reached 70 this year and I do NOT consider myself "elderly" This is an interesting topic and perhaps the OP is on the correct path by suggesting that you need to answer a question "did you search for your topic/question" before posting,,,,,,,, PS: I did spend over 40 years in the IT area so some of us "elderly" are computer literate!!! I can't remember if I search this topic before posting or not.............
  20. http://www.sanantonio.gov/SSF In December, Stinson Municipal Airport marks the 100th year since its founding. Today, the second-oldest continuously operating airport in the US, Stinson is San Antonio’s primary reliever for general aviation traffic and home to several businesses including Palo Alto College, Alamo Helicopter Tours, Texas Air Museum and Sky Safety. Over the last century, from its site near San Antonio Missions, Stinson has witnessed the history of aviation, from barnstormers to jets, and the history of San Antonio, from military outpost to today’s city on the rise. Started by a pioneering aviation family, the airport began as the Stinson School of Flying, a legacy revealed in its unique airport code SSF. While Eddie Stinson went on to establish the successful Stinson Aircraft Company, sisters Marjorie and Katherine taught and inspired the first generation of pilots. Young Katherine Stinson - who was born on February 14, 1891 - garnered worldwide celebrity for her record-setting exhibition flights, becoming the first woman to perform maneuvers like the “loop- the-loop” stunt. Known as the Flying Schoolgirl, Katherine toured the globe as a famous barnstormer before becoming the first female pilot to fly U.S. Air Mail and volunteering as a Red Cross ambulance driver in Europe during World War I. After retiring her wings, Katherine went on to start a family and launch another long and productive career in Santa Fe. In her second career, Katherine excelled as an influential architect whose work helped shape the modern Santa Fe style. On the occasion of Katherine Stinson’s birthday and St. Valentine’s Day, we invite you to fall in love with the story of Katherine Stinson, the Stinson family and Stinson Municipal Airport. Over the next several months, stay tuned for more information, as we schedule events and programs that help commemorate a Century of Aviation at Stinson. Learn more at Stinson100.com or find Stinson Municipal Airport on Facebook.
  21. Dave, Thanks much for that first hand insight. I too am anxiously awaiting that final production version from MilViz. Of course when it arrives I will probably have to read the manual a few times!! Regards, Bob
