Got the e-mail from Just Flight saying that 1.7 is available....the download link in my orders still gets 1.6 :(

As pretty much everyone else has said, go for the newer GTN units as they are the way of the future in regards to compatibility and functionality. The only reason i'd recommend the 430/530 is because they are more widely used in real GA aircraft than the GTN units at the moment, and would be more of value for training purposes. (eg. I am doing IFR training IRL with twin 430 equipped aircraft).

This bird is amazing, has so much personality which just drives me to want to fly and learn more about it.

The best planner is a map, scaled ruler, protractor, brain/flight computer, and a pencil. The relevant documents for the aerodromes/airspace you will be flying through/to are beneficial as well.

Since it is happening often and for very trivial things i'm afraid to say your video card is most likely defective. I had the same issue with two GTX670's in a row and they were both deemed to be defective when I took them back to the store for testing. The next card I has been problem free ever since. I'd say try to get it RMA'd with the store you purchased it from and get a replacement.

Have a feeling this bug affects anything that has Windows 8 code near it....i've had the controller on my new Xbox One lose connection a few times at random, brand new batteries too so that's not an excuse.

This video shows you how the controls look in a crosswind takeoff/landing. Have to say the most fun i've had with X-Wind landings in real life was my first Assymetric circuits lesson for my Twin rating, coming down in max X-wind conditions on one engine will let you know how good you are at it!

Started flying last year in Piper Warrior III's with Avidyne glass cockpits. Got my PPL earlier this year and just this weekend started my Multi-Rating on the Piper Seminole (What an experience it is the first time flying a twin!).
