I used FSCommander a lot for flight planning before I got ProATCX which includes an excellent flight planner and moving map.

I'm thinking of moving to Xplane from FSX. What are the equivalent add-ons for the PMDG 747/737, AS2012, GSX and ProATCX?

Can you use that for VFR as well?

is there a way to set up distance rings from a certain waypoint such as an airport on the Garmin 530 or G1000? Such as ones used in a Real Air or Milviz.

I am still finding it tricky to land GA aircraft like the Cessa well. This is what i am doing atm: Descend about 400-500 ft/min. Reduce speed as appropriate. Put flaps and gear down as relevant. I am finding it hard to find a good glidepath. Often I am either too high or too low approaching the runway. How do you work out when to start descending from cruise?

I will prob hold off buying GEX or ORBX England and save my money for World!

On the PMDG its possible to set up distance rings from a certain waypoint such as an airport. It is possible to do the same with the G1000? It'll make judging distances much easier!

I only had the trial of EBF and never used it since. Never used FSC 9 again either. ProATCX has an excellent flight planner and moving map.

In the future I plan to fly a mixture of PMDG 737, 747, 777s. Looking at the GF-MCP Advanced Autopilot Module it looks quite generic but missing the extra CMD and LOC buttons. Any other choices available around that price?

I just used my laptop keyboard and a PS3 joystick. A bit awkward so I wouldn't want to fly manually!

Over the weekend i flew on a short BA flight from London - Berlin (in real life!). I was in row 1 with 3 seats free. Since there was not too many people I decided to fire up FSX, FS2Crew and VATSIM on my laptop. I tried not to speak too loudly but got some strange looks from the cabin crew when requesting clearance and speaking to the FS2Crew copilot! Funnily enough the captain came back as he was curious as to what i was doing. I showed him my PMDG 737 checklists and he was impressed as they were very similar to his! I asked him what fuel, runway and SID we were going to fly so i could follow the same route. In the end I had a perfect flight and the real piloting was not to bad too It's a shame there is no board wifi otherwise I could use VATSIM for the whole route.

I have the 747-400 atm and love it! What are the improvements/differences? Is there an upgraded VC?

How do I assign these functions? I want the TOGA to be on one of the throttle buttons and reverse to be on another. i tried using the PMDG keyboard menu but the button clicks wont register.
