  1. Excellent! I'll hold out then since 2.5 requires a fresh install. Don't want to go through installing and setting up twice. Looking forward to P3D 2.5! Cheers, Aaron
  2. Thanks for the additional info guys, I have ORBX Aus, Nz and a bunch of payware planes and just had a read in the p3d forums over at ORBX. Looks like I'll have to wait for a new set of libs due to the new structuring before moving to 2.5 just like J van E mentioned. Tempted to just buy the academic at 2.4 now and not wait for 2.5 lol. Rob, just curious but can we expect 2.5 soon as in this month soon? Thanks
  3. Thanks so much for the confirmation guys, much appreciated. I'll wait for 2.5 to be released then, can't wait to test P3D out! Hope my PC can cope with it. Exciting times ahead Cheers, Aaron
  4. Hey guys, Been away from FSX for almost 12 months now and looking to getting back into it but this time with P3D. Been doing a lot of reading over the past few days and just wanted to check if the upcoming P3D v2.5 will require a full re-install? I have just formatted my FSX HDD and don't really want to go through it again if I purchase V2.4 now and a complete re-install is required when V2.5 gets released, which by the sound of things is fairly soon. Thanks in advance guys and looking forward to trying P3D out Cheers, Aaron
  5. Wow that looks awesome. Thanks for the heads up Adi. I already own a few of the godzone airports and as a fellow Kiwi myself, I am really looking forward to Robin's new NZWN so this is a win win! Just a quick question, I am currently using orbx NZSI at the moment and if I were to get this subscription, would I need Robin's VLC for this to work? Cheers
  6. This is going to be awesome! Just curious but how is the package coming along?

  15. I use OPUS and used to have this problem too, here is the way I have always fixed my F12 view and it works every time for me: TOP DOWN VIEW IN FSX Reset 1) Go to cameras.cfg (c:\users\<yourname>\appdata\roaming\microsoft\fsx) 2) Find: [CameraDefinition.006] Title = Top-Down Guid = {A2849229-938A-448f-8AC6-01EF2291C171} Description = This is the description of the map or top down view. Origin = Center SnapPbhAdjust = Orthogonal PanPbhAdjust = Orthogonal Track = None ShowAxis = Yes AllowZoom = Yes InitialZoom = 256 SmoothZoomTime = 2.0 ShowWeather = No XyzAdjust = FALSE Transition = No ShowLensFlare=FALSE Category = Outside HotKeySelect=4 3) Change the HotKeySelect=4 to 6 4) Go into FSX and change View camera 4=F12 to View Camera 6=F12 Can't remember exactly where I got this but I think it might have been back when I was using EZDok before moving to OPUS. Hope it works out for you! Aaron
  16. That is horrible :( A tragedy that should have clearly been avoidable....I also read that the pilot mentioned something about a bright light obscuring his view during the approach but nothing else was mentioned after that and they were still investigating.
  17. What an awesome post, thank you for taking the time to share that! Gives people a perspective of what goes on behind closed doors. Not sure if it has been mentioned as I haven't read through every post but did they conclude that one of the deceased actually did get run over by emergency services? So sad :(
  18. Had another tweaking session over the weekend to see if I could get GSX to play nice with RadeonPro and still no luck :( Big shame really since RadeonPro is a really good tool to have for AMD users. I have tried all the features you mentioned and they certainly work well with fsx, I especially like the vram monitor and gpu core temps as well as SweetFX integration without having to move files into the fsx folder. Now to decide if I should spend some $$ and get a 680 or just stick with my 6970 for now. Argh decisions decisions
  19. Ah that's good to know that Inspector runs differently from RadeonPro. I think a GTX680 or 770 is on the cards since the 780 is a bit too steep for me. I will have another tinker with RadeonPro over the weekend before I make any decisions since I'm not in a huge rush and will update this thread if I do manage to figure out why GSX and Radeonpro aren't playing nice together Aaron
  20. Hey Charles, Really appreciate all the help from you! Much appreciated mate. I think I have tried everything in terms of settings and also steps 1-6 from your previous post to no avail :( GSX crashes and as far as I know GSX is built in to fsx as an add-on so I'm not sure if that can be disabled. Seems I'm not the only one as mentioned in the previous post so I guess GSX is just not compatible with RadeonPro and vice versa. Guess I will have to do without RadeonPro unless I switch to Nvidia...but even doing that doesn't guarantee that GSX won't crash with Nvidia Inspector. Does anyone out there use GSX with Nvidia Inspector and have no problems? Shame really since RadeonPro is a very nice program to have for AMD users and I'm not sure if it warrants a change to Nvidia since the 770/780 is pretty pricey. Thanks again for all your input Charles, hope other's that have GSX and use RadeonPro can chime in too ^_^ Aaron
  21. Thanks for the info Charles, I have the SM 3.0 mod and it does work wonders for AMD cards! I downloaded RadeonPro last night and gave it a go today but it seems to be crashing GSX :( I read that someone else had problems with GSX as well and RadeonPro here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/404430-optimal-settings-for-ati-users-with-fsx-great-results/?p=2668123 TrackIR seems to be stuttering ever so slightly too so not sure if it's just me or if it is a known problem. Although it does stutter in the TrackIR application itself it doesn't seem to interfere with panning around in FSX so that's not too bad. Would love to use RadeonPro since it has some really cool features but having to forgo GSX is a bit of a bummer :( Now if someone has a solution Searched google but haven't found anything yet. Aaron
  22. Thanks for replying C, good info that I will take into consideration to see if I should bite the bullet and get a nvidia card for a change. I have read some of your other posts and I am going to give radeonpro a shot and see if I can improve things before I decide Thanks for the info mate, much appreciated. I will update this post once I've tested radeonpro out with your settings. Aaron
  23. Hi guys! I am currently running a i7 3770k delidded at 4.5ghz and Asus direct CUII 6970 at stock speeds and was wondering if it would be worth an upgrade to perhaps a GTX770 or 780? Thinking of making the switch from Amd to Nvidia since this will be my main pc for fsx from now on. I have read countless posts but everyone has their own opinion and I would love to hear what your opinions are before I make a decision Thanks in advance guys! Have been reading the forums for a while now but my first post Aaron
