  1. Thanks a lot! To make things a bit more complicated there are some stations that report visibility up to 40SM. I have made a list of them and what their max reported visibility is: CYMA 20 CYDA 20 CYQQ 20 CYZT 20 CYYD 25 CYGH 25 CYXC 25 CYQU 25 CYBG 25 CYMX 25 CYQB 30 CYYE 30 CZFA 30 CYDB 30 CYVR 30 CYVQ 30 CYZV 30 CYGH 30 CZFM 35 CYYC 40 CYXY 40 I don't know what it takes to filter these out of the rules you have set up but that would be the easiest in order to prevent a greater visibility to be set when the reported visibility is actually 15SM. Hope this helps. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks for the reply Stephen, Yep, just head over to skyvector.com and take a look. AUTO stations use up to 9SM and normal airports use up to 15SM (which makes pretty much all Canadian airports have a surface visibility of 15SM max).
  3. Hi, Most AUTO reporting stations in Canada only report visibility up to 9SM. So when they report 9SM it could be 30SM. Also, Canadian reporting stations that are not AUTO usually report up to 15SM. It seems in OpusFSX, 9SM reported is taken to mean 9SM exactly and the same with 15SM. I believe any stations that begin with CY and have AUTO in the METAR report up to 9SM, and any stations that begin with CY and don't have AUTO in them report up to 15SM. I am not sure how hard that would be to change this but just an idea. Thanks, Mike
  4. Company's website: http://www.ofxsimulation.com/ I am confused about what this product is. It seems like you buy it, then have to wait until they sell a database of the countries your want.
  5. I should have added that there are no lights during IMC even in FSX. Badfinger: I am not asking for support for the particular airport. I just wanted to know if it is normal for add-on airports to not have lights on during IMC. Since P3D doesn't support BGL_Lights I was thinking maybe other developers are unable to have lights that turn on based on ceiling and visibility.
  6. I bought a highly regarded scenery that does not have any lights on during IMC. I would guess because somehow it isn't possible. How can LM not have addressed this issue? Training in low visibility without runway lights? What? That is insane! I believe I can change it so that the lights are on all the time which I guess I will have to do...Funny how they spend all this time on something as useless as cloud shadows in a "not for entertainment" product, meanwhile people are landing CATII with no approach lighting <_< . Why doesn't LM have some sort of standard for approach lighting? It is extremely important when training to have the lighting correct so that it is visible at the right distance away. When you have all these developers having to design they own lighting effects some are bound to not be very accurate. So is this the case with most add-on airports? -Mike
  7. P3D is still extremely CPU bound. They need to just spend all their time optimizing, not wasting it trying to wrestle with SLI.
  8. Oh, I see that now. That is at least reasonable.
  9. Lol, I have to rebuy if I want the EXACT SAME plane in P3D? Unless they somehow make the plane much better in P3D with future updates I will just install the FSX version in P3D.
  10. Richard, with those settings your GPU is probably at 70% most of the time. Try turning some things that are GPU dependant up and then monitor your GPU utilization.
  11. DO NOT GET AMD FOR FSX/P3D. I have an FX8350 and it is AWFUL. Anyone who tells you differently is lying to you probably because they are fan boys.
  12. In FSX I get the Q400 stopping in midair and even going backwards sometimes. I also find on the ground it can act weirdly in terms of bouncing or just stuttering badly. It doesn't look like your video though.
  13. Can't wait to see what they do for 2.3. Hopefully they can increase performance quite a bit.
  14. VESA is implementing adaptive v-sync technology in the DisplayPort 1.2a standard. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8008/vesa-adds-adaptivesync-to-displayport-12a-standard-variable-refresh-monitors-move-forward
  15. You don't need any steps to have AI in multiplayer. I use UT2 and get AI when I am on VATSIM.
  16. If I am not mistaken I believe the Chinese already have that F35 data :-p http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/mar/13/f-35-secrets-now-showing-chinas-stealth-fighter/?page=all
  17. Would be great if we could get a modern ATC program that is constantly being developed and that users could even contribute to. Most ATC programs are getting maybe one small update a year to simply fix some compatibility problems in order to keep selling.
  18. I am getting awful framerates with all sliders turned back and a 780ti. Too bad P3D can't just work out of the box. Unfortunately FSX runs and looks better than P3D for me right now.
  19. I believe UT2 only reads the weekly DB by default. There is a UT2Bridge.exe.config but I am not sure how to use it to implement all my databases (1 database per airline).
  20. VOX traffic is so bad. Want to fly with 20 747s flying around you? Get VOX ATC.
  21. Thanks for the help. What happens with UT2 when an aircraft that is under AISIDSTAR's control leaves a SID? I ask that because I created this SID: RNW 08 FIX OVERFLY ITZ02 HDG 141 VECTORS, but I noticed an aircraft that was supposed to turn almost 180 and go north after the STAR, turned from about 150 to 110 and just kept going straight. But at the same time for others that need to head east they turn to 74 and seem to be on track. Also, in the Monitor program it keeps saying the aircraft is under AISIDSTAR control and it is still in doing the SID even though the aisidstar.exe said it was leaving the SID. It was interesting because when an ai went around and executed that SID, he ended up just heading about 74 and never changed direction. I would have thought that after a SID ends, the ai just goes and does his thing. Also, try to get LM to allow you in P3D to assign a landing runway. That could allow people to customize how the traffic flows at airports.
  22. I went back to test again and it seems sometimes the shadows are fine but other times they seem to be flickering/shimmering around the edges and just moving my viewpoint can cause them to look normal again. I also found that if I press Y to slew the aircraft, the problem goes away.
