  1. I am also new to all this, and I am surprised by the reaction of some of the posters above. Using my logic I would say that the OP is eagerly waiting for the proud and in his heart, he feels it has taken longer than he wished. I guess that is all he is expressing and he is afraid that this project may not materialize. That's what I see from the post and there is no need to look at him as a stranger. I guess we all have our own questions and opinions.
  2. I recently got REX Plus and I am trying to learn how to use it correctly. The weather engine needs to be on all the time while flying correct? And , is there a way to select different weather conditions from the REX console (storm, rainy day, foggy conditions, etc) like we do within FSX ?
  3. Gents, I had uninstall and reinstall my FSX, and along I re-installed MD-11- among others/. However, the MD-11 is the only one which will not show or do the "Systems Initializing" step. The aircraft load with one engine running, but with no display on the PFD or any display- They are all blank. Does anyone how is this resolved. I want to enjoy this a/c again.
  4. Yeah, I checked the FSX folder and all these three things, yet the installer keeps telling he does not sees it. I asked the developer and I was told to look for all 3. Oh well, I might just have to uninstall it or get it else where in an extracted form.
  5. Gents, I have a problem. I am unable to install A2A redux Shockwave lights. I point it to the correct drive and FSX folder, yet it keeps saying: "Either FSX was not found or there is file corruption is found in your FSX directory. This would likely be corrected by re-installing FSX" Doing some research on the developer's forum, they have mentioned: "OK, that is one of the original installers. It is looking for the following files to verify it has found FSX: [FSX]\fsx.exe [FSX]\SimObjects\Airplanes\Lear45\aircraft.cfg [FSX]\eula.rtf If you don't have all of these, just make dummy files and it should be OK. So, my question is, how and where do I create these "dummy files" ? Someone with knowlegge on this please advise me; will appreciate you.
  6. Gents, I was wondering if I should install Nvidia's latrest video card drivers, or is there a version that works best for FSX? Please advise. I have an Nvidia 580 GTX.
  7. What do you mean by "the ouse on the screen?" Does it makes any difference in performance if the cursor shows or not on the screen ?
  8. Both are very good; but Navdata from Aersofot is the better one. Look who it's coming from, Aerosoft- The world's best and power house in flight simulation.
  9. Hey David this is good info; I will give it a try. Thank you.
  10. Ammm, guys. I don't think it was his birthday- He never showed up on this topic.
  11. A couple of days ago uninstalled FSX and all addons. Then, I re-installed FSX on my D drive. So, I have a C: drive and a D: drive specifically for FSX. Howeverr, after installing FSX (with no addons), I fired-up my sim, I am now getting about 6 different error messages indicating that sceneries are misssing. I went the scenery tab, pressed delete and it goes away. However, when restart FSX I get the same missing scenery error messages, and within the Scenery Library tab (move, move down, delte, edit....etc) once again show the missing scenery and they are all "checked." Can someone please tell me how to get rid of these errors or how to fix this?
  12. Ah, I see. That makes sense then. So I guess flightsim labs will be able to. I'm sure it will be a really nice airplane to fly.
  13. I have been reading about the different add-ons for our hobby and this one has me in somewhat of a fear. I understand the good folks at FSL have all the intention to make the best thay can, if not the best add-on flight simulation has/will seen. What I am afraid of is that they take too much of a big bite just to realize after some years that the impossible is indeed, impossible. I am talking about the limitations within FSX. My understanding is that the Airbus airplanes are a lot more different than Boeings. I want to think that this is the reason why no developer has taken the seriousness in bringing an Airbus as high- end as PMDG has brought Boeing airplanes... Of course with FSL now being the exception. So, the question is, "Will FSL be able to deliver?" I guess we are trusting and awaitting on them that they will. However, and once again, keeping in mind the limitations on FSX, it might be necessary to cut a little bit of those corners to make it FSX functional. Of course, the ideal would be, not to have to; but again, even if it takes 10 years to develop, will FSX allow such complex airplane be 100% developed on $60.00 Microsoft 'game type' platform? Humm, we'll see. I really hope it can be done; but, as you can see even the folks at FSL are having a tremendous amount of difficulty- I hope the project is never abandoned!
  14. Now, how will this work with REX? Say in FSX we can set a rainy day or snow and so on. How do we do this in REX? Can we manually set a rainy day of thundersorm from REX?
  15. WOW, if we could only fly like a bird. Actually better not. We wouldn't have FSX.
  16. Perhaps they're trying to stay within comon-sense range and not have to read through a gazillion of posts for a simple answer.
  17. And my quesiton is: Is there any other processors we should be looking-out for? Say from Intel or AMD ?
  18. Wow, that's a pretty bold statement there, fellow. Are you an Airbus-airline pilot ? If you're not then, och. So, would it be safe to say that either you are an Airbus pilot or knows at atleast 98% of how an Airbus functions in the real world for you to say that the current Aerosoft Airbus is not to YOUR standards? Or are you just speaking out of sensationalism ?
  19. For a new person as myself; how will this tell me if I need it or not? Can you guys believe this, 14 pages of discussion and no one has post a couple of good screen shots to tell what the improvements are? Or what the benefits are ?
  20. Thank, Noel. It makes good sense what you say. And yes mine is oc to 4.4 Ghz. Runs well , orver all. But it does slows woth ehavy scenry like KSEA and a high quality airplane. So, it sounds like I'm better off sticking with my current cpu. I appreciatte your response.
  21. Gents, I currently have a i7 2600K processor. Is there any other one, for FSX, which will be significantly better than what I currently have? Or, is there any CPU out there curently being developed, that we should be keeping our eyes on ?
  22. I will get it and install California. Appreciate everyones input.
