  1. Bar some nice looking missions which I think will add to the sim I'm not really sure the point of a brand new 2024. Unless we're talking vast steps forward with AI and much improved engine then I'm sceptical it'll be much different from the current version of 2020. My issue is the big fanfare of promises that came with 2020 haven't been fully realised and we're stuck with a game with tons of issues that they have little enthusiasm to fix. I commend their efforts with updates but it just feels like "We're bored now, too many annoying bugs to fix, time to move on and re-energise our revenue stream" and throw in a few shiny bells & whistles and tinker around the edges with the new 2024 version.
  2. So the consensus is that the exciting new thing that should realistically improve things.. is ultimately going to be totally underwhelming and disappointing 😂
  3. The Guardian also isn't owned by an oligarch or billionaire tax exile that can throw money at it hand over fist for advertising and absorb huge losses like the vast majority of those other papers listed.
  4. Because monetary values and subscriber counts are the measures of whether someone is a crass a-hole or not...not their actual actions 🙄
  5. Preliminary testing they are seeing 80-90% performance increases with the RTX3080 over the RTX2080.. not bad at all. No doubt MSFS will find a way to kill all these power improvements 😁 https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-hands-on-with-nvidia-rtx-3080
  6. The "optimisation" fix.. was that just for one issue?
  7. Think I'll go for the 3080 in my new rig, 3090 seems like overkill and with the 3080 being 20% faster than the 2080TI (even with a GB less ram) it'll still be a far superior card. Once optimisation is done on the sim then it'll be more than enough to comfortable run everything on maximum settings. At $699 (£525) its priced very reasonably too.
  8. In monetary terms it can only be good for MSFS having lots more focus and interest on the sim, bringing in new users. Personally livestreaming isn't at all for me, never usually last more than 2 mins before losing interest. I find it mad how much money people will throw at what I usually find is hugely irritating and uninteresting people though. (Not talking about the above video btw)
  9. Tbf, he has raised fair points. It's hardly dramatic expecting a product that when you buy it, it works. In most other industries or line of work releasing to customers unfinished products riddled with issues would see a company reprimanded. Its not too much to ask that when you buy a product it should be fully operational and not a laborious task that requires hours of in-depth technical knowledge to set up and understand. It's sad that the half-baked attitude that pervades the gaming industry is just accepted by people now.
  10. While I expected them to address only the major issues in regards to installing the sim and other crash issues, it would have been nice for them to actually address other problems, even just acknowledge they've been noted and they'll work to fix them at a later date. You can only hope the next update is more substantial and sorts out the in-game issues. Some of the responses though.. talk about dramatic.. "sad patch.. a scandal" guy 😆
  11. Can these liveries be assigned to AI traffic so you get a realistic representation around airports?
  12. How long does that take? Surely with the wealth of data and imagery we have at our disposal nowadays they should already be learning from a huge database of images?
  13. In regards to AI learning and for someone who knows nothing about it.. is this a ongoing process that we continually should be seeing improvements or do the developers have to keep tweaking it by hand? With the implied "learning" you'd assumed quality will improve by the week as its understanding grows.
  14. I've not purchased the sim yet, was hoping to just have a browse on there.
  15. What a joke.. you can't log onto the MSFS forums unless you have an Xbox Live login.. offensive initials not allowed 😂
