  1. Since were no longer using NI for anti-aliasing, do you guys enable anti-aliasing within FSX? without this box checked I have a ton of jagged lines. Anybody that uses the Realair Lancair, do you still get cockpit shimmering around the gauges? Not sure if this is a Realair thing or a settings thing on my end.
  2. I am no help...but nice Profile Pic Lude.... Go Flyers!
  3. Pardon my noobiness (for lack of a better word) but am I missing something here. I just installed the new driver enabled DSR, went into FSX and there are no resolution options for 1.5/2x my native res. Think I got it. But I have a lot of jagged edges, suggestions? Sorry I really do not know much about what all these settings do. Probably something I should start to learn.
  4. ahhhhh, Thank You. I did, but completely forgot about it after I spent so long tweaking settings and fixing CTD's. So thank you for the reminder, will be sure to grab it.
  5. wow awesome shots. KPHL is my hometown, curious what addons you were using here for airport and scenery (FTX Global?)
  6. Great looking shot...but please do not remind me winter is coming, thanks. haha
  7. Man I gotta stop reading these topics, makes me want to just buy them all. Torn between the Twin Otter, PMDG J41, or the Q400. But I also want an A2A realism aircraft. This "game" is getting expensive.
  8. Well I am realtivley new to the scene and only have 2 addons (Scout,Decathlon, Citberra and the Lancair Legacy; both RealAir). I use the Scout etc planes hardly never and mostly fly the lancair. Love that plane. Still contemplating my next airplane and this topic may help with that. But leaning towards a longer distance high flying turbo prop. Not ready for the big jets yet, still learning navigation etc.
  9. Nice shots and a great aircraft. Fly this one all the time
  10. Awesome pic, and sick graphics
  11. ugggh I could not agree more. I hate windows 8. Windows 7 was finally an OS I could live with. Wish I had a choice which OS I could have had installed when my pc was built, and I was to lazy to build my own PC this time around. Not to mention I lost my installation disk for Windows 7 so that's not even an option. So I am stuck with Win8.
  12. Any chance my Saitek x45 joystick could cause this error. The problems did start occurring after I plugged it in. I just got the stick early this week. I can not find any drivers for it since saitek does not support it anymore and there does not seem to be Windows 8 drivers. I just plugged it in and let windows do its thing. This was brought to my attention on a non FSX support forum. Anybody have this stick and windows 8 and have issues/solutions?
  13. Thanks again firehawk. I will have to do one thing at a time till I find a solution. Already deleted .cfg file no help. Next I will drop a few sliders and try that. From there I will start to look at system settings. Really appreciate the help. I now have both the CTD guide and the settings Guide on my desktop ready for quick access so I don't make you have to copy/paste and write out a lengthy explanation each time, haha.
  14. Thanks for responding...your a busy man around these forums firehawk. I do not have MytrafficX. Computer is less than a month old and purchased through Digital Storm who does all the setup and benchmarks. I do not believe they overclocked the cpu, but will check when i get home.
  15. Thanks, I think I glanced at that before, but now that I have a little more experience with different settings I will go back through it and see what I can adjust. Those CTD's are frustrating. I do not get why they are becoming so frequent all of a sudden, had no issues for the first 2 weeks and made no adjustments to my settings till after I started getting them. But hopefully adjusting a few sliders will help. And I will be sure to add my system specs next time I am on my home computer. System Specs added to Profile
  16. I am beyond frustrated. Had a bunch of CTD's the other day but they were all before I took off. Deleted cfg file and today half way into my flight it crashes. I have no idea what is causing this all of a sudden so i Copied the report and hopefully someone that understands what this says can help me find a solution. The only Addon i have is REX. I had some textures for the default cessna, but deleted those yesterday when I was getting all the crashes thinking they were the culprit but I guess not. 17. Thanks yea checked that out. That's what led to deleting FSX.cfg file. As for reading the error report... That was all gibberish. If it happens again I'll look more closely at it.
  18. ugggggh fsx was working great for me for the first 2 weeks I had it. Installed my Saitek joystick and (not that this was related, its just when it started) FSX was crashing so i had to let FSX create a new cfg file. Reloaded all my settings within FSX but now the game is horribly un-smooth and I get these random green patches/lines and when i switch views things are all gray for a few seconds as if the textures are slow to load. I don't remember ever making tweaks to my cfg file but who knows, I went through so many cfg files just trying different tweaks. So I have no idea what i did to my cfg file previously. hopefully some of you experts can help me out and I can get back to enjoying the game. Edit: Alright somehow fsx fixed itself, no longer get the green lines or gray models and its smooth again. Sorry to waste a post. I guess closing and opening fsx a bunch of times fixes problems, haha.
  19. Either freeware or payware with a slight preference on freeware at the moment till I learn more and can benefit from the payware aircraft. I mostly want a full functioning Virtual cockpit with good textures. Right now I am interested in GA aircraft (large and small) and business Jets/props. Then transition into big commercial jets. I just don't want to have to turn scenery way down and lose the visual appeal just to fly the addon aircraft. I can make small adjustments like tone down AI aircraft ( play at 60% both air and ground now) but I do realize some sacrafices may have to be made. The way I am set up now that realair Legacy is unusable both on the ground and in the air.
  20. New to the forums and to FSX. Looking forward to learn all I can about flight and navigation. Been doing a lot of IFR flights with the Cessna and going start doing some vfr flights to learn that a little more. Slowly learning SIDS and stars. Was also hoping somebody could help me out with some add-on aircraft. I downloaded the legacy from realair but that thing draws to much resources. I can't run Rex and I need the settings down to low to make it enjoyable to fly around. My system is an i5 and gtx 770 card and 8gigs ram. Wondering if there is any quality aircraft addons that I could use with my system running rex still. Will keep poking around the forums Thanks
