  1. Its really sad they are going with DX11, and that's only because of the Windows 7 users. DX12 have a lot of new nice features, it can do things that is not possible with DX11. DX11=All about the single core. And what I mean with it is that core nr 1 on the processor is the only core that do the talking with the GPU. DX12 can also do split frame rendering with multiple GPUs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmyy7Tk-GBs video from the AMD guys explaining ALOT what DX12 can really do. This also mean with DX12 that those who love AMD builds finally could have a awesome flight sim experience. I'm sure many would love to build a sim with AMD's (cheap hardware). Only reason why NVidia today outperform AMD is because of driver optimizations when on DX11 So in the end it seems like doing DirectX11 and reaching out to the (lazy,stubborn) Windows 7 users is more important than going with new technology that can really take fully advantage of your hardware. And new hardware is coming soon. Next gen AMD and Nvidia. New gen CPU and GPUs might even require Windows 10 to fully utilize the new hardware.

    Powershell script $processname='Prepar3D' $seconds='5' while (Get-Process -Name $processname -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue) { $Vasmonitor=Get-Process -Name $processname | ForEach-Object {[math]::Round($_.VirtualMemorySize / 1MB)} Write-Host "Prepar3D currently have $Vasmonitor MB left" Start-Sleep -Seconds $seconds }
  3. Just awesome Kyle, thanks for sharing the story of your flight.
  4. Happy new year from Norway
  5. Thank you the update PMDG team. Cant wait too throw some money at you guys ^_^
  6. Made a flight today LPPT - LEGT and then a new leg LEGT - LFPG. I started in day time. Landed on the last airport when it was really dark outside. Here is when I landed at evening. And here I did close the sim, started the sim again on the same place, time and aircraft. All lights works as they should.
  7. Thanks for the update. So glad PMDG is developing for P3D again. Going to be fun trying the taxi cam. Are we getting the 747 for P3Dv3? :O
  8. Yea also been noticing that Taking off at day and landing on evening/night. No ground reflections.
  9. Maybe FSUIPC isnt ready yet for P3Dv3? :O
  10. AutoCruise was working fine now. I might have messed up a setting
  11. I found out that I get my lights working if I start a "clean" flight with P3Dv3. With that I mean I startup P3D with the standard save, then I select the PMDG 777 and then select Airport and set night. Only then I make my landing lights work. If I save the game to a savefile. Restart the sim and load the save file then the lights are dark on the ground.
  12. So yea, just did a P3Dv3 test with the PMDG 777 now. From Russia to Canada.(UUDD - CYKA) Simulator is performing very well No issues at all with this long flight. P3Dv3 been running for 5 hours flying and no problems at all. Very nice visuals, clouds and sky looks great. Using Active Sky Next and GSX. Also updated RAAS to latest version and its working fine. Didn't manage too do long flights with P3Dv2 always OOM at some point. I had one issue with the PMDG 777 and that was the AutoCruise, it did turn on. But nothing more happened. I had to control the simrate manual. Anyone else tried AutoCruise?
  13. Hi Kyle, the wierd thing is that I make the lights working if I load a "clean" flight. Using the standard save that cames with P3D and select the 777 then I select night and airport. Then the runway lights works. When I load a saved flight like I used too in P3Dv2 then the runway lights are gone on the ground. In 3D cockpit view. Its really wierd. I tested this in the P3Dv2 had no issues at all. Also very interested if anyone else getting this. And now my signature should be fixed.
  14. Anyone having a issue with landing lights not lightning up the ground in the night, virtual cockpit view? They work totally fine from the outside view. I have the PMDG 777
