  1. Well after the v1.01 update and 17 more liveries including a sexy Cal Fire variant that I think I'll never stop flying, this thing is so much fun and good it's ridiculous. I'm practicing autorotations in it now , which I've never taken the time to get proficient with yet, and having an absolute blast!
  2. Shameless self-promotion here since I replaced the video posted on the previous page with better version 😁
  3. Pretty cheesy and dialed back, I'm afraid... here's for my stick/cyclic (-39%) and rudder pedals (-50%):
  4. I was fully expecting this to be fixed when they shot down that weather spy balloon that was up in the stratosphere sucking up all the MSFS weather data, but there must be some lag involved I guess.
  5. Well I don't know about you fellers and fellettes but I'm having a blast with this thing!
  6. I had similar problems with MSFS not shutting down completely and it was directly related to FSRealistic and a very silly (IMHO) setting in FSR to stay running after MSFS exits. It is on by default and I have no earthly idea why anyone would ever want it on since disabling it fixed the issue and with it turned off FSR still works just fine every time I launch MSFS repeatedly (sometimes frequently when I am jumping between MSFS and Blender when working on scenery stuff). Somethin' to check...
  7. No fair man, I called dibs on complaining about stuff like trees and such that wasn't supposed to be in the update anyway. You gotta wait your turn.
  8. Some of us are claustrophobic and also suffer chronic flatulence.
  9. Wait. On second thought I did make a camera file mod to fix the pilot eyepoint that installs to the community folder and put it on the ".to". But that couldn't mess this up... could it? @lupedelupe are you using that mod?
  10. I call Dibs on being That Guy that posts how the tree girth or whale flukes or something else completely not related to what's in the release notes is not fixed in this update. I've never done that yet and figured we took turns or something?
  11. I've been going over this in my head because I am still perplexed. I know for a fact that on Saturday and Sunday I had to have the fuel cutoff pushed in (forward) to start. Last night i was very tired but wanted to play with the startup after reading this thread. I know with 95% certainty that the very first time that I went to start it up, the fuel cutoff was pushed in as usual, and it started right up. "OK" I said to myself, "Let's get that on video to help troubleshoot on AvSim". So I hit Alt-z to bring up the Nvidia tools, start recording, and I'll be dipped....no start! Half an hour and several deleted recordings, head scratching and reloads/reboots later sith not one single auccessful start, I confirmed the fuel cutoff had to be out (aft) to start! Nothing really changed on my system other than loading some additional small airport sceneries from flightsim.to in order to enhance some sightseeing flights that I'd like to do with this helo. So I am wondering uf the Alt-Z in some way altered an in-game setting that is persistent across reloads/reboots. Or if this addon has any kind if persistent data it saves that would change this behavior inadvertently. Although I fully expect the truth will indicate I am completely wrong and have lost my mind...
  12. You're welcome and yeah, something seems wonky. Here's a guy that is starting her up with the fuel cutoff switch pushed in, which did not work for me last night when trying to make that video - no way nohow, even after restarting the flight several times, exiting and restarting MSFS, and then even doing a clean boot! And I was friggin positive that was how I had done it the previous two days!
  13. Be sure ye be pulling the fuel cutoff switch OUT rather than pushing it in - I could swear it was the opposite but when I went to go make this video I had like 17,466 failed starts with it pushed in. (this is just a quickie mind you I'm aware I took some shortcuts with the startup and shutdown procedure, and forgot to turn on my landing light arrrrggggghhh!)
  14. Battery on, Rotor brake confirmed off, Fuel cutoff confirmed in, fuel pump on for 5 seconds, Ignition (key) on, ensure throttle closed (beyond Throttle Stop), click Starter, use mouse to advance throttle to idle (throttle stop pops out)... she should light off. Gotta feed her some oats?
  15. TBH during my first flight last night I was kinda wondering if I would ever get to fly this thing smoothly but after some more time it is settling down - of course I also backed off my sensitivity curves to -40% for the cyclic axes. The only other thing I wasn't crazy about was the default pilot's eye viewpoint which is offset toward the center of the cockpit and too low and far back. Fixed it: https://flightsim.to/file/48949/improved-pilot-s-eyepoint-for-cowan-md500e
  16. Be sure to flick the ignition key down on the side of the pedestal, just to the left of the BATT switch. Agree on your impressions of how she flies. I just did a nice flight down the California coast from KSBA to Long Beach (my usual shakedown route) and was able to trim her up pretty well for gentle fingertip flying. Also yes, the speed can creep up on you in this one but it's also easy to bring the nose up a scooch and modulate it. Was able to set down nicely on the Queen Mary helipad. A keeper for sure!!!
  17. 48 liveries included.... gotta be some kind of record?
  18. She's a lively one! And definitely rewards a smooth hand on the cyclic. Comes with an absolutely redonkulous amount of liveries. I must have spent 45 minutes scrolling through them one by one in the hangar and drooling - they just keep coming! If you're a fan of the MD500 you might find yourself whistling at some of them or having your jaw wide open, literally. The sounds seem OK (the wife is currently drowning me out while she watches her Andor Space Wars-thing on the big screen) and I mean to tell ya she is twitchy and jumpy (the helicopter not my wife) compared to the Bell 206 and others but a lot of fun once you reign her in!
  19. Black Box King Air stabs a wooden spike into the Necro Thread's heart.
  20. Do you have the Steam or MS Store version? With Steam, you can just define a new location and it will all be moved over for you.
  21. We appreciate your patience as we work through some of the rough edges of this airport's virtual opening. Management is looking into stricter sobriety controls for the ground crew and other airport employees, although given the tight labor market and general disposition of the locals it may take us some time to fully address the situation. Meanwhile please take full advantage of our pilot's lounge and make yourself comfortable - there's cold beer in the fridge. 😁
  22. Kitty Hawk... Le Bourget... Biggin Hill... Muroc/Edwards... Burbank. Locations forever embedded within the rich fabric of aviation history. And in keeping with such hallowed names, Foozle Aerospace is proud to bring you the next installment of NorCal airfield improvements: O28 Willits Municipal Airport, aka Ells Field. Located in Mendocino County just northwest of Willits CA on a small mountain with an elevation of 2,063 feet, this is where a young 14-year-old Stoopy received his first few crucial hours of instruction in a Cessna 152, N6266T. The single 2,995-foot asphalt runway overlooks the valley, thus providing visually enticing arrivals and departures. Currently, this airport is also home to one of the many CalFire Helitack bases in the area, which this scenery aims to duplicate with a functional helipad, available as "Helipad 01" in the MSFS start menu (Scroll to the bottom of the list of parking areas when starting a flight). There are basic amenities including AvGas, a pilot lounge and Cessna-sponsored flight training. This airport enhancement includes custom 3D objects created in Blender to help re-create the unique atmosphere of this airfield. Get yourself some good NorCal flying by downloading here: https://flightsim.to/file/47260/028-willits-municipal-airport-ells-field Special Bonus for AvSim members who have read this far! The first person to find and post a screenshot of the Willits Wolverine High School sticker located somewhere in the scenery will receive 100 free points*!!! Special thanks to: superspud for his written SDK tutorial available at "the .to", Mamu Designs, Flying Theston and MyPhysicalWorld for their YouTube Videos, the good folks at fsdeveloper.com for their discussion of the Asobo Gitf importer, various Blender youtubers, and my good buddy GregP for testing and inaugurating the finished product with his harrowing derring-do. 😉 Enjoy! -Stoopy * Points are non-transferable, non-fungible, non-redeemable, non-refundable, completely imaginary, have zero monetary value and are good for braggin' rights only.
