A2A Comanche has been released!
Stoopy replied to abrams_tank's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I would agree except for the occasional sneezing from the pilot, which always seems to come at the most inopportune time like on short final, etc... Gives me a jolt and then a big grin. -

Me too but still had to make time for a purchase and a quick look... this is going to be wonderful - and just like old times, she's a beaut! LMAO you have to love the attention to detail. I couldn't hide the yoke and thought I'd found a bug... no, you have to remove the control lock first! -

Black Square Announces the B60 Duke!
Stoopy replied to Mets737's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yeah but... that's like being depressed that you can't go out with Olive Oyl because you have a hot date with Sophia Vergara (or maybe the T-Duke is more of a Dolly Parton?) -
I'm assuming that was uphill with a tailwind on RWY 22 as opposed to downhill RWY 4? RWY 4's downhill slope might at least soften the landing blow. And hey there's that 1600 ft recovery buffer if you can't stop in time... 😁

Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?
Stoopy replied to penta_a's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Nah, it's just not a VR topic. -
Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?
Stoopy replied to penta_a's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Not even ChatGPT knows. It may take the advanced compute power of Elon Musk's future AI Overlords to determine the riveting answer and bring closure to all this mental mastication (or we wait for release, maybe?)... -
Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?
Stoopy replied to penta_a's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
You said I said this but nuh uh I said the other thing You were the one that said that MSFS 2024 will not be a subscription model = the community will be in an uproar MSFGS 2024 will be a subscription model = the community will be in an uproar How many more handbags must die painful horrible deaths as they are wildly swung and swatted -
Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?
Stoopy replied to penta_a's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
As I said, friend, in this case you are making an implied suggestion (confirmed by your analytic lead-in). Otherwise why would you ask others to provide a source to show otherwise? -
Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?
Stoopy replied to penta_a's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I'm already having to buy new copies of payware aircraft whenever I crash one, so that isn't going to be much different. I've bought that darn PMDG DC-6 14 times over now!!!! -

Conversely, how about citing a credible source where it is stated otherwise? The onus of proof lies with one making the claim, or in this case the implied suggestion. That way you also wouldn't have to apologize for inconveniencing anyone (except yourself). Just a suggestion.- 99 replies

Are we in the calm before the storm?
Stoopy replied to ca_metal's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It certainly does seem incongruous that we have to post VR topics in a separate forum as if isolated like lepers, but we don't have a separate subforum for these regularly scheduled "personal feeling" / hand wringing / subjective argumentative opinion posts. Makes a fella (or fellette) openly wonder which of the two general subjects are less relevant to actually using the sim? -
Which 5 warbirds would you like from Flying Iron ?
Stoopy replied to Paul K's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I'll help you guys out here 😁 1. P-47 Thunderbolt. I'd be surprised if it's not already somewhere on their roadmap. Over 15,000 built. 2. F8F Bearcat. A Rare Bear variant would be wicked cool. About 1,200 built 3. F7F Tigercat to round out the piston-engine Grumman Cat series. Yet only 364 built, so hey still cool! 4. Hawker Sea Fury. A bit underrepresented with only 864 built but hey, we could also paint one up like Dreadnought and race it alongside the P-51's and F8F's! Well then how about a Lavochkin La-5FN or even a La-7? -
It could be that your fellow sim club member was following procedures a little more correctly by turning on the Alternators as @CarlosF is suggesting. Having electricals and engines die afterwards if you don't, is a common symptom if you fail to do so. Are you following the checklist that's available (select the large white checkmark icon when you move the mouse to the top of the screen to show the inflight menu items)? That will point you to the right steps and switches and levers to poke or push.

You did make sure that your online functionality didn't inadvertently get disabled, right?

Yes - for me. I finally caved and ju7st bought the PMDG 737-600 this last weekend and this is my second night of flying it. No white boxes last night prior to AAU2 but definitely showed up this evening after about 45 minutes after taking off from KPDX. Using a tobii eye tracker and regular flightstick/throttle quadrant/rudder pedal combo, no Xbox controller. Oddly the white boxes weren't there at the start of the flight, I was looking for them after reading everything in this thread up until now. Maybe my 736 was reading this thread while I was distracted with the FMC...

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - Announce Trailer
Stoopy replied to Zangoose's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I wonder what it's gonna be like when MSFS 2028 is announced. -
Despite having the Cowan Simulations MD500E I couldn't resist and went ahead and bought this - the airframe happens to be one of my absolute favorites (would love having an OH-6 Cayuse aka "Loach") and for $19 the price is quite reasonable. Considering I paid $17 for a double cheeseburger, fries, coke and some spicy chicken nuggets at Wendy's a couple of weeks ago (don't judge - I hadn't eaten all day and had a 2-hour drive home!!!) I have to say... this is a really nice heli for the price. It flies very well and trims up nicely for some relaxing cross-country flying also. Looks dang good, fun to fly, and the addon features make it interesting and put a smile on a sim pilots face. If you're looking for a starter helicopter that has sex appeal, great visibility and won't try to kill you, this is really worth getting IMHO.

Milviz 310R - shallow compared to Blackbox?
Stoopy replied to Bigbluss's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yes, and true disappointment requires hope. 😁 -
TBH I didn't check but if they do that's way cool!
