  1. It is pretty surprising there isn’t any type of PA-28 in the pipeline.
  2. That is absolutely stunning. No other word for it.
  3. It’s gorgeous for VFR flying, there’s no doubt. And you can literally explore the world! I’ve been thinking about Africa, the Shetland Islands, Japan, Australia and NZ - places I’ve never seen but would love to. The scenery is so good it’s like a virtual word to explore. Pretty awesome.
  4. As do we all, they’ve definitely done some amazing work!
  5. Back-to-back attempts at flights. First one about 200 NM in the TBM, got to cruise altitude at 28,000 feet, was messing around in the G3000, and it froze. It didn't unfreeze. Fired it right up again, loaded up a 50 NM flight in the TBM, got about halfway there, and again, while looking at the approach in the G3000, it platzed. Haven't had it happen before ever. Everything stock. Kind of a bummer, because I've just fallen in love with this plane and I've been looking forward to it all day. If I don't go up for dinner right now I'll be in for it, so I'll have to give it a try another day. Oh well...
  6. Yeah, I don't mean to say anything negative about anyone, please don't take it that way. I'm just kind in a wait-and-see mode right now. I do appreciate the feedback though!
  7. Wouldn’t pitot heat and windshield deice be both actually? The both prevent and remove ice. Not that the distinction really matters...
  8. The cabin heat in a 1972 Cherokee is like having an asthmatic breathe on you anyway. I always have a CO2 detector (one of the sticky ones) on the panel - are they no good? I don’t mind spending a bit of money. I have a pulse oximeter as well, for example.
  9. Whatever you say, “Rich”. Don’t start arguments unless you want one.
  10. Absolute garbage. I just called you out. It started with you.
  11. Like a lot of people, I've been trying to figure out how to use the G3000. Youtube videos and written descriptions, such as questions and answers on here, are great, but lacking. Really the only way to truly learn these systems is to "read the book". There's just no shortcut. You may only need a handful of pages out of the following two guides, or you may want to really dig in. I have the full version of Acrobat, so i may wind up slicing hese up into smaller guides for my own use, and if I do so I will share them here. Either way, here they are: G3000 Pilot's Guide G3000 Cockpit Reference Guide
  12. You mean like the MSFS trolls on the P3D board, who for months were telling the world how perfect this sim would be? Were it not for those people I think there would be a lot less animosity around here. Aside from the fact I think your P3D trolls are for the most part a red herring. But I digress.
  13. Yeah, I have a good amount of real-world time behind the GTN650/750 as well, and you would think moving up the G1000 would at least be in some way logical or intuitive, but it's just not. Perhaps the reason why I've found the G3000 to be more functional is that it's just more logical, or perhaps it's the keyboard in the TBM. It's just way easier to use than the G1000.
  14. For what it's worth, and given that I don't really know my way around the G1000, I found the G3000 infinitely more usable, and really perfectly fine thus far.
  15. The stock plane that came with the sim. I'm actually quite leery of community mods at this stage. I tend to trust the efforts of the people who know the underlying mechanics of the sim. The need to modify a plane presupposes that the people flying it are doing so perfectly, like test pilots essentially. Just because, for example, you reduce the fuel consumption to what you expect it to be doesn't mean you've necessarily fixed a problem. And I just worry about creating new ones, or that mods will cause the planes not to work properly with future updates. So for now it's stock airplanes for me.
  16. It absolutely should be possible. Whether you can do it in the sim or not I don’t know. But in real life, absolutely.
  17. Had my second flight in this yesterday and it has changed my opinion of this sim 180 degrees overnight. Absolutely amazing! And being able to select your route and approach and have it load into the FMS. It’s amazing. The weather is still a mess, you don’t get what you had set up preflight. But flying this airplane in the sim is just awesome.
  18. They should have hired me, I’ve been saying this since release day!
  19. Not certified for flight into known icing, my friend. The only deicing on a 172 is the pitot tube and the windshield.
  20. Essentially there are no differences. Often the minimums are the same. The issue is with getting all ICAO countries to agree on the laws and rulemaking, which is a chore, so they just classified them as non-precision approaches, even though many if not most or nearly all of them are as accurate as precision approaches, such as ILS approaches. In the real world the only differences relate to alternate airport selection on IFR flights and such.
