  1. Didn't know you could drag-and-drop .pln files -- just amazing! Thanks.
  2. Be sure to add the replacement "data" subdirectory to the LNM directory when LNM is NOT running.
  3. Thanks. I only use Defender, but I’ll look into that. That.
  4. But isn’t the point that the Beta was way better than the current graphics, AP, etc. They are moving backwards. What if Asobo re-released the August Release and then called it a day? Publish the SDK as is and get out of the way for third parties who can get the job done? Though I have been a True Believer up to #7, I can see that Asobo is way over their pay grade, I.e., they don’t actually know how to get beyond the Beta without screwing the pooch.
  5. I noticed in EVGA's Precision X1 that GPU usage (roughly 98%) shows a dip (and microstutter) every 60 seconds exactly. The tracing over time looks like an unhealthy EKG! Any thoughts on cause/remedy?
  6. Despite the validity of the various points of view, it’s disappointing if you’ve ever actually flown Cessna’s to even deal with mixture settings below 3-5k ft., except to kill the engine at the ramp post-flight. Seems an unfortunate own goal, no.
  7. I ordered Bravo Throttle from mypilotstore on July 26. I wish they'd issue a status update...
  8. I had a few issues with the ADF frequency not showing up when doing ADF exercises, but overall I like it a lot. I believe the problems were mine. Certainly don't regret the purchase. I am a RL VFR pilot with 500 hours, though inactive for years. But this is very much like having your instructor up there with you. Works quite well as an overview of IFR, and yes, has its adrenalin moments!
  9. Hang in there. Take a fresh look at installing it tomorrow. Forgive me, but I assume you did look for it in Activities, then in the Bush Trips section?
  10. My experience is different: I got the HC yoke and it just slipped right in, recognizing all the assignments including magnetos and start switch. I then wanted the TM TFRP pedals, but a TM bundle included the Hotas X and throttle for like 15$ additional so I bought it even though I didn’t care about the joystick. I plugged the TM stuff into a USB port and same thing - MSFS recognized every button and switch. I now use them together since I use the TM throttle until the HC Bravo ships. I have had no conflicts or problems. I just don’t have much use for the stick but it works without any problems.
  11. Check honeycomb’ website and Facebook presence. Also search for HC flight stick.
  12. I ordered July 26...still hoping..I love the HC yoke a lot. The Honeycomb video of the JFK landing used thrust reverses. And they just disclosed a HC joystick coming down the pike, as well as the Charlie rudder pedals. Re: packaging, there are several unboxing videos of the Bravo and the packaging looks really good to the extent that matters— the levers for commercial and GA are separately boxed, which is a good idea since there’s about a dozen of them.
  13. For example, the MSFS official website has a Community sub-folder which includes a section of "Community Fly-in Events". Just get started with that bulletin site and Discord, and you're on your way. The learning curve is not all that steep, and the fellow flyers will support you getting started, I'm sure.
  14. There are a number of sites announcing group flights. They usually include flight plans you can download ahead of time to load into FS 2020. They also point to their discord sites so you can join in and talk with trip creators and participating pilots. Very open and welcoming. Jump in and give it a try!
  15. Thanks again. For some reason, the new maps are opening now. I unpacked with 7zip specifically and ran Little Navmap as administrator. Whatever, the new maps are working now. Thank you so much!
  16. First, thanks for this app. When I click on the default backgrounds, such as OpenStreetMap or Starmen Terrain, the map background changes accordingly. If I click on one of the new maps such as "* us-ifr-high" or "* us-vfr-sectionals", there is no response. Little Nav Map is on the same SSD J: drive as FS 2020, though in its own directory and works fine. It doesn't need to be on my OS drive, does it?
  17. I downloaded the new maps zip file and extracted it to my main Little Nav Map directory. All the files went into data/maps/earth and appear proper according to an earlier post about where the new map files should live. Although they are listed in the application's pull down menu for map selection, they do not open when clicked? Help! What am I doing wrong? I want my sectionals and I want them now!
  18. We all have our personal approaches to the VFR map bug. I had two CTD’s yesterday even not using the VFR map, so I set the map to open at start; then I minimize it and don’t use it and I have been successful this morning for a few test flights. The CTD’s were the first I’ve had since the Beta.
  19. If I change the shadow numbers just coming out of developer mode, it resets the default when I restart. If I quit developer mode, then close the sim, then edit user.cfg, then restart the sim, it accepts the change.
  20. Thanks! With a 1660 ti with 6 gb, I stayed conservative, using 4096. What a difference! My cockpit shadows in VL3 were crazy serrated vibrating messes. Now I have a crisp realistic shadow from direct sun in the cockpit. Have to try out other aircraft now. Thanks again.
  21. OP here: running 2560 x 1440, 144hz monitor. pre-patch 30% cpu, 85% gpu. now 15-20% cpu, 95% gpu. I know I need to upgrade card, but why worse after the patch?
