Just got Reverb G2
JuliettTango replied to kevinfirth's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)For better clarity with the G2, increase the render resolution to 140 % in your openxr runtime. In msfs settings, 100 % render resolution and TAA.

JuliettTango replied to odourboy's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)I am also getting black screen with my G2 while turning the head towards one side, unless I have light sources from both sides.

Anyone Still Using MSFS 2020 in VR? Stutter and Freeze?
JuliettTango replied to Anxu00's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)Since you have upgraded your gpu, make sure your psu can deliver the power needed for the 5090 and that the cooling is ok.

JuliettTango replied to Anxu00's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)IMO 2020 works better than ever, so your problem would probably be somewhere else. BTW my gpu is RX 7900 XTX and win 11 version 22h2

Headset optimization tip to rule them all...
JuliettTango replied to Dillon's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)If you mean Shader Cache resetting, it does exist in Adrenalin software. You will find it in Games/Graphics and then at the far bortom.

Winnipeg, MB
JuliettTango replied to dbw1's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)Unless you already have it, also consider the cost, approximately 600 USD, for the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo. It is awesome in VR when you feel with your hands what you see in your headset, especially with airliners like the Boeings.

9800X3D with a 5090: HP G2 VR Bliss
JuliettTango replied to TheFamilyMan's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)If you exceed 100% rendering scale in msfs, you will go from TAA to SSAA and definately pay the fps penalty. Instead, increase the rendering scale in your openxr runtime.

Is Pimax Crystal Light a good idea to get for me ?
JuliettTango replied to jfri's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)I don't know about 2024 but for 2020 it's General options/Graphics/Render scaling.

JuliettTango replied to jfri's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)Maybe you use Steam VR. I don't now what is the best standard for MSFS 2024 since I only run 2020. For me openxr works great. If I set the render resolution to 266 in openxr and 50 in the sim settings, that gives me 5 extra fps compared to setting render resolution to 133 in sim. Btw, that gives you approximately the same resolution as Pimax cl and can be good for testing if your hardware can handle the Pimax. My graphics card is a 7900xtx, so I lock my frame rate at 45 fps in Radeon software. To me that seems to be the best for the g2's 90Hz. I have a steady 45 fps and no stutters. However, since my cpu is a 5900x I have to avoid cpu intense settings like having tlod set to 150, buildings to medium and raymarced reflections off.

JuliettTango replied to jfri's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)Stay with your G2. I really like my G2 but I have increased the resolution in openxr to 266% and set the resolution to 50% in the sim. The image is much clearer without to much performance loss.

Stuck on checking for updates
For me the problem was solved by moving the folder "fs-base-nav" to another, tempory location. Then start msfs and the sim will hopfully update and load. After that, shut down msfs and move the folder "fs-base-nav" back to the "OneStore" folder and when asked if you want to replace existing files chose "no".

HP Reverb G2 Bad Cable or Bad Headset This Time ?
JuliettTango replied to mobeans10's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)Be sure the cable is plugged in well. For me I have to push quite hard to get the plug seated in the headset.
