Stuck on checking for updates

Featured Replies

Hi,

For same reason it is the first time I get this issue. I followed all steps and nothing works... I didn't change anything, except installing Rex Atmos.

Any solution?

I went through this.  It's brutal.  Re-installed 4 times.  I eventually solved the problem by re-installing Windows.   I know it's not what you want to hear but that's what it took for me.

This also happened to me.  Whatever is going on it's affecting numerous users.

I didn't install anything new.  I have been having issues with FS2020 ever since the release of FS2024 with numerous crashes to the desktop from the flight planner.

On most days I've been able to have one successful flight after several crashes, but now it won't go beyond the Checking for Updates screen.

I don't have MSFS 2024 yet.

It is just a problem with 2020 and after Rex Atmos.

i dont have Rex Atmos and i have the same Problem for me it helps to disconnect Wifi then i can click "Continue" when the Sim is loading i reconnect Wifi.

But i also discovered that waiting (almost 15 min) on the Checking for Updates will continue at some point, use now the Time for getting Flight Planing done, very anyoing but happed after 2024 release.

I also dont own 2024

Back on line, seems the servers issue has been resolved.

Same here with MSFS 2020 stuck on "Checking for updates".

Even the MS Store application is looping forever after I asked to check for updates.

Ditto here - stuck at Checking for updates - then crash to desktop.

No more fun - i go back to FSX.

Just fired up MSFS2020 to check, spent maybe a minute on the INSTALLATION MANAGER screen - Checking for Updates and loaded normally after that. Seems OK here.

There is still a problem.

On AI aircrafts normally MSFS loads a truck for pushback. It is not happening at any airport.

Is it something related with some functions still down?

It does eventually resolve itself. It took 3 restarts for me to get past checking for updates.

Whilst I did not notice any issues myself, it is rather worrying that these server problems seem to be happening more frequently.
