  1. Hi, I created a set of checklists for the GTN using the Garmin ACE. They're based on the Just Flight PA-28 Arrow III manual and the Pilot's Operating Handbook from Piper. The file is attached to that post in the X-Plane.org forum. If you spot a typo, error or anything else, feel free to fix it using the checklist editor (link in the aforementioned post) and share it.
  2. Hello Everyone, GOt a question for you all. I have had my NGX now for about a 2months and I am still learning all the little ins and outs of it. My questions deals with the short turnaround panel state. Does anyone have a checklist for the actions that need to be done to get this plane ready to fly from this state. I thought I could improvise from the tutorials what needed to be done and have had mixed results i.e. (one engine wouldn't start and another the throttles would move but the engines stayed at idle). Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Pete
  3. Hello all, I just recently purchased the brand spankin' new NGX, and boy what a plane!!! Although the wait turned out to be almost more than some could bear, in my opinion it was well worth it. Anyhow, on to my question: I've been reading through the massive documentation included with the plane to familiarize myself with it and would love to be able to have a checklist handy. Yet, nowhere in the 3000+ pages of documentation could I find one. I thought this odd since I know they released a checklist with the FS9 version of the 737NG. I know you can get them printed, bound and laminated with either the chief pilot's or captain's manual set, but I couldn't find them by themselves on the PMDG website. I'd be happy to buy them separate from PMDG or even to print my own if they were included in the e-docs, but alas I'm stuck since I don't have either of those options. I'm happy with my FCOM and FCTM in electronic form, so I don't think I'll drop $250 on print just to get the checklists. Is there any possibility of PMDG releasing just the checklist for purchase (or download so we can print them at home)?
  4. Dear friends, I created some checklists for the Baron 58 and stored them in the aircraft folder and they where ok. Now I wanted to change them and put the new file in the folder, but the GTN 750 keeps the old one. I reinstalled already the device, but it is the same thing. What can I do to solve that problem?
  5. The first in my series of posts about the checklists in hopes of filling in all the gaps that Carenado left off. First of all I don't really see what is the point of putting a checklist with items that are either inoperable or just not applicable to the simulation. I also noticed that some hotspot switches have a function different from what the panel label (in the VC) actually says. So, for the list, those items with [X] I got covered, those with [?] I am unsure where to find them and those with [ ] are those that I believe do not apply to the simulated aircraft. Please correct me if I am mistaken please! I want to make a true checklist for this wonderful plane! [ ] Pre Flight Check according AFM (what is AFM?) [?] Door Pins (somebody said they should be green inside the door but I do not see them) [ ] Seat Belts [X] Parking Brake [X] Gear Lever [?] Emergency Gear Knob [ ] Circuit Breakers [X] ELT [X] All Electrical Switches (I guess only those on the overhead) [?] Radio Master Switch (tooltip says "Master Avionics") [X] Alternate Static Source (I think underneath the main panel, Alt. Switch) [ ] Cabin Altitude Selector (inoperable) [X] Cabin Altitude Rate Control (dummy switch) [?] Cabin Pressurization Control [X] Cabin Dump Switch (overhead switches) [?] Oxygen Pressure Gage [ ] Oxygen masks [?] Ground Clearance Switch [X] ATIS (tune radio - IVAO/VATSIM) [X] Startup Clearance (IVAO/VATSIM)
  6. OK, on to the Starting Engines checklist of the Carenado Piper Malibu. This list seems to be more in line with the actual a/c simulation but there are a few items in it that I did not managed to find: Fuel Firewal Shut Off Lever. Fuel Xfer Pumps L&R Manual Override Switch Fuel Boost Pumps #1 & #2
  7. A while ago, I found some supposedly authentic Boeing training materials (at least they highly resemble the paper version of the PMDG B747 FCOM I purchased) online. Because I seek realism, I am now using the normal checklists described in the QRH with the PMDG B747 in FSX. However, the sequencing of some checklist items seems illogical. I would appreciate some thoughts as to whether I am correct and why the items may be sequenced the way they are. If I misinterpret anything, please let me know and explain. (Even though I am using the B747 checklists in the following examples, what I am referring to applies to other QRH normal checklists as well.) Some relevant excerpts from the B747 QRH normal checklists are shown below with some comments/questions, which some of you may find slightly nitpicky: Before Start: Flight deck door . . . Closed and locked Passenger signs . . . ___ MCP . . . V2___, HDG___, ALT___ Takeoff speeds . . . V1___, VR___, V2___ CDU preflight . . . Completed Trim . . . ___Units, 0, 0 Taxi and takeoff briefing . . . Completed Beacon . . . BOTH Wouldn’t it make more sense to complete the CDU preflight procedures before setting the MCP and verifying takeoff speeds? What about verifying all takeoff speeds before setting V2 in the MCP? Landing: Speedbrake . . . Armed Landing gear . . . DOWN Flaps . . . ___ Wouldn’t it make more sense to check the flaps before lowering the gear (theoretically so the aircraft has a smaller chance of losing speed and stalling) before arming the speed brakes? Shutdown: Hydraulic panel . . . Set Fuel pumps . . . Off Flaps . . . UP Parking brake . . . ___ Fuel control switches . . . CUTOFF Weather radar . . . Off Wouldn’t it make more sense to determine whether the parking brake should be used before the other shutdown items are checked? What about checking the flaps before the hydraulic panel is altered? As you can tell, I am highly interested in the details within these real training materials. I hope none of you are annoyed by my pickiness, and I thank you for your assistance. Have a great new year!
  8. Hi all, I've just downloaded the FS KBT L-188 Electra for FSX because I want to try out a few old props/turbo-props, and I have to say, despite the panel being a bit dated/an acquired taste, it isn't bad, and considering there are no payware L-188 offerings I'm aware of, it's probably the best too. ^_^ I like to do a bit of tweaking every time I get a new plane to the hangar, and since I am now a bit more of a serious simmer, like to have check-lists too. I've had a hunt for some check-lists and surprisingly found nothing, apart from this: http://buffaloairway...raft-Checklists , which is, of course, a dead link! -_- Additionally, although as of yet I haven't had the chance to test it properly, I notice there is no beacon light on it. Is this accurate? Off the top of my head there is a panel switch for the beacon... correct me if I'm wrong. But if I am is that accurate? I know not many people seem to have the Electra - seems to have suffered the same fate as in real life  but it'd be great to get any kind of feed back on this. If you haven't at least tried it, and like turbo's of that era (of which there aren't many), then do! Many thanks in advance.
  9. I created checklists for the Carenado Aero Commander 500S Shrike to be integrated into your GTN750. The file includes Normal Procedures, Emergency Procedures, References and Acrobatic Maneuvers. If you see any errors, inaccuracies or anything you think should be added/emended, please let me know. Any feedback will be appreciated. LINK Note. In case you don't know, in order to load checklists into your GTN, you have to download the latest GTN version (v.14) from Flight1 first. Then, make sure you have the latest GTN Trainer for PC version. Download the file from the link above, copy it into the main AC folder and rename it "chklist.ace" (thus removing the "_AC500S" section). The GTN will read it automatically when you load the aircraft in your sim next time. Once you are in the cockpit, checklists are accessible from the GTN interface under Main/Utilities/Checklists. If you want to edit the file, download the free ACE tool from the Garmin site: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5075.
