Hello all, I just recently purchased the brand spankin' new NGX, and boy what a plane!!! Although the wait turned out to be almost more than some could bear, in my opinion it was well worth it. Anyhow, on to my question: I've been reading through the massive documentation included with the plane to familiarize myself with it and would love to be able to have a checklist handy. Yet, nowhere in the 3000+ pages of documentation could I find one. I thought this odd since I know they released a checklist with the FS9 version of the 737NG. I know you can get them printed, bound and laminated with either the chief pilot's or captain's manual set, but I couldn't find them by themselves on the PMDG website. I'd be happy to buy them separate from PMDG or even to print my own if they were included in the e-docs, but alas I'm stuck since I don't have either of those options. I'm happy with my FCOM and FCTM in electronic form, so I don't think I'll drop $250 on print just to get the checklists. Is there any possibility of PMDG releasing just the checklist for purchase (or download so we can print them at home)?

My friends, Each day we see members generate a repetitive posts here at AVSIM because they did not bother to first search the AVSIM forums or take the time to first search a product manual. Sometimes this leads to the original posters receiving a very negative response from members of the community, which at best embarrasses (or should) and at worst creates ill will or possibly alienates someone from our community. Someone might wonder why this is important. After all, we're all aware that AVSIM has unlimited disk space and bandwidth (lol). The answer is quite simple. The AVSIM forums are a valuable resource and wealth of information which allow the community to quickly search and receive a wealth of information on almost every topic or issue in flight simulation. The problem is that these repetitive posts eventually "sit" on top of original posts which usually contain the information needed to understand or address an issue, and can eventually obscure the the informative contained in the original posts. If something isn't done, I'd argue that searching the forums will at some point become an exercise is sifting through countless, repetive (if not worthless) posts rather than leading one to the answer one is (or should be) searching for. I know first hand how hard the moderators are working, and they're doing a great (but thankless) job. But something else has to happen. I won't be so bold as to think that I have the answer here, but maybe two suggestions to start the ball rolling towards developing a solution. 1. Send a SHORT email out to all AVSIM users about this problem (anything more than three or four short sentences and I question if people will read it). 2. Create a short, two or three sentence notice that new users will have to read (and answer) informing them to search the forums before posting. I realize these are not solutions, just something meant to get the ball rolling. Thanks for your time.

PMDG Releases B-777 Manuals
Tom Allensworth posted a article in Product Announcements & Press Releases
PMDG today released the manuals for their upcoming B-777 product. The long anticipated B-777 promises to be one of the most complex add-on's to FSX since the PMDG NGX 737. The manuals and related material released today include the Chief Pilot's Manual, the Captain's Flight Manual, Quick Reference Handbook, Cockpit posters, Flight Crew Operating Manual, Flight Crew Training Manual, and a five poster card set of System Schematics. The Chief Pilots Manua bundles all of these into one package. You can get more information at the PMDG site. You can participate in discussions of the manuals in the B-777 forum here. -
I want to buy the download version of the 737NGX plane from PMDG, but I'm not sure if the documentation is included. The PMDG MD-11 documentation is available on the download page of PMDG, but the 737NGX manuals aren't. I just can't figure out if they are included in the download. Can someone help me out with this?

Since most manuals that come with addons are in .pdf format, are there any utilities out there for viewing a PDF in FSX? Since it's nearly impossible to remember a 15-step engine start sequence, I always have to minimize FSX, read a step, the maximize fsx and follow it. It would be a lot easier if the manual could be viewed with FSX in full screen and without pausing FSX every time you read a step. Does anybody know of a utility of sorts that could do this?Thanks,boeing247

I just completed printing ALL of the documentation that is delivered with the PMDG 737-NGX. This includes the Introduction & Use, Tutorial One, Quick Reference Handbook, The Flight Crew Training Manual, and both Volumes of the Flight Crew Operations Manual. I thought I would save some money. Here are my thoughts and conclusions on this massive project. MY COSTS: Paper- I bought a case of copy paper from Office Depot on sale for $30.00. I used 7 packs of 10 so $21 total. Ink- My computer has refillable ink cartridges and I buy bulk ink. Estimated $20.00 on ink. Binders- 6 four inch binders @ $12 each. 2 three inch binders @ $7 each, so $86.00 on binders. Chapter Dividers- $25 Time- Esoteric estimation: 40 hours actual. While the printer was doing it's thing, I was collating, punching and installing previous print runs (50 pages to each print run). Made the chapter dividers, reloaded ink, made the exterior binder pages, etc. I already had the printer and ink, the paper slicer, and three hole punch. If you don't have these items, add another $35.00 to the price tag. I could have paid one of my grandkids to do this, and that would have been another $100. If your printer doesn't have refillable ink cartridges, you could add another $40.00 in ink costs. My fingers hurt, my eyes are going buggy, I broke my office chair rolling constantly from the printer to the computer and now my printer makes strange noises and emits a faint burning smell. Conclusion: If anyone wants me to do this for them, the cost is $2500. I really should have bought this: http://www.precision...3&idcategory=20
